Ok....now I've decided a few days ago to jazz up my plain white bedroom curtains by adding ruffles....but I plan on layered ruffles from top to bottom! Not just one along the hem...🙄 Then make a ruffled skirt for my bed divan base to match...so yeah...miles of gathering gonna be needed!!! 😳
I very often commit myself to these types of "plans" then dread starting the LONG process needed to achieve it. 😂 It's only my choice to do this, I don't have to do it, but I will. I'm always setting myself up for stress like this! 🤣 But they will be gorgeous when done. And that makes it all worth it. 😁
And now I've seen your way to do ruffles I'm even more excited to start! I've never seen anyone do gathering in that way! I imagined sewing a straight stitch all along the ton of lengths I'm going to need to gather, and gently gathering it for hours, desperately hoping the thread won't break. But I already have loads of that white cord, and your process makes gathering so much quicker, stronger and provides a non fraying edge at the same time! It also holds the gather in place a lot better whilst attaching it!
Now I know why I hadn't got started yet! The universe wanted me to see your video first!!! 😁
I won't make the skirt although it is very pretty. Unfortunately with my jelly belly it would not look very "pretty" on me! 🧐
I need gathers around the waist to skim over my belly, as much as the ruffles around the edge. But it is a lovely skirt and will look beautiful on someone with a nicer figure than mine.
But skirt aside.... Those ruffles and the way you gathered them so quickly are what I will take away from this video! That's literally just what I needed to see right at this time! Uncanny timing in all honesty! My curtains and bed are going to look gorgeous in no time thanks to you! Thank you! 😘😘😘
