I just got my sisterlocks at the end of April and I learned quickly who to share my journey with and who not to share it with. The funny thing is it's usually the people who have no business talking about anybody else's hair. Gotta love people and their commentary that you didn't ask for 🤣. You are BEAUTIFUL, and you were before and after your locs. You're happy and that's all that matters. What you choose to do with your funds (and I find supporting other women owned businesses to be awesome) is your business. After my install I felt what my consultant went through was worth every red cent because only love will make you spend that kind of time helping another person do something that tedious 🤣.

I simply told her that I love my hair and that is all that matters.Baby, believe me I have to hold back on that woman because she really makes me want to say some things to her at times. Hi. I've enjoyed watching you do your makeup I didn't know you'd loc'd your hair. First,. I love you sisterlocks. As your locs grow and mature its going to take on a whole different look, size and style. I've had sl for 5 yrs now.. there's so much I want to say after watching your video, but I don't want to type a book. When I think about the price I paid for my locs and the price I continue to pay for my retightens which is every 7-8 weeks. The trade off is worth it. I'm no longer trapped in the wig weave world. I was truly a prisoner. I wouldn't leave the house without some type of vice on my head. So the freedom to rock my natural hair is priceless. I love seeing starter loc's. I miss the look. Enjoy it. In a few years your going to look back at your videos and be like wow. If only I knew then what I know now. Also family and friends are the worse, strangers are going to show you some much love. You'll see.. and they also like to put their fingers in your hair. Watch out for that. Enjoy your loc journey. I burst with joy every time I see us natural hair sisters.

Love your hair super cute. I paid 1500.00 for my sisterlocks October 2018. I had 15/16 inches of hair I had buyer remorse myself but love my hair. Still not always sure I also found my consulted on the sisterlock website. I don't have 400 locks I have about 390 😟 some in the middle are kinda medium????

I just had my install May 7 2021. Like you my aunt told me she didn't care for them and wouldn't do that to her hair. I say "TO EACH HIS OWN." I did what made me happy I paid for it and I have to live with it. I have no regrets I'm not in love with my locks yet, but I really like them a lot. I am trusting the process. It doesn't matter much what others think, but it will take a while for some folks like your aunt to get it and perhaps others. In the beginning it looks thinner and then fills out. It's beautiful nonetheless!
I wish I could talk to you directly because everything you have mentioned in this video is so similar to my situation. Sis; all I can say to you is that everyone that had something negative to say to you about your hair will truly truly be eating humble pie when your hair starts to mature. Please take my foolish advice and stick this out you will not regret your decision please please please 🙏🏾 trust me!... I had my sisterlocks installed on my birthday of October 2017, and some of my friends in the office was so negative when they saw it a couple of days afterwards and told me I waisted my money (because I believe the locticians charged based on the length of your hair). Anyway my colleagues where geering me saying all sorts of things like "It's a lie! How could anyone pay someone to do something like that to your hair?' But believe me almost two years on my hair journey I get Men and women stopping me DAILY!! Shop assistants, all walks of life telling me how AMAZING my hair looks to the point that I'm giving out my loctician's number on a daily basis. I've had to apologise to my loctician and tell her you may have random people calling you because I always get stopped and people ask for her number. Sis my last piece of advice to you is PATIENCE... I cannot stress to you how important that is because it wont happen overnight it is a gradual process but ☝🏾a process you will truly truly appreciate. Ooh and one more advice; less is more. Who ever created that impression knew what they were talking about , all you need to maintain your hair is Rosewater and vitamin E oil that's it ☝🏾 nothing more nothing less. I’m from a very conservative Nigerian family and I got a lot of negative vibes from people. I didn’t tell anyone the cost because I didn’t want any opinions. Now, the same people who criticised 2 years ago, are getting their own sisterlocks installed. I laugh.

I just got my sisterlocs on April 25th, I felt buyer remorse also..It is alot of money..but I wanted to be natural and I think this is the look for me..So my journey begins..I'll never tell someone how much they cost, because I know they will look at me crazy...I do however think Brand Ambassadors do charge too much...
Cynthia Bivens yes ma’am, I definitely think her price was ridiculous, but I wanted my hair done so I looked at it as an investment. I made the mistake of telling 3 people and 2 of them acted like I said it cost $5000, and one of them gets braids on a regular basis. I definitely have enjoyed having sisterlocks and I know you will too! Good luck on your journey. 💜

Yes she did, and she actually has a website with a few pics on it. I am not sure if she did styles before, but I know she is about to move into shampooing and styling.

Sounds like you need to cut off zany conversation about your hair around your family. Be ready for more mess because surely your mother will tell your aunt how much you paid. The good thing about my mom is she knows her twin so she would never tell her how much I paid, and to be quite honest we usually aren't surprised about what comes out of that woman's mouth, but that doesn't mean she should say anything.

I had my sisterlocks installed on my birthday of October 2017, and some of my friends in the office was so negative when they saw it a couple of days afterwards and told me I waisted my money (because I believe the locticians charged based on the length of your hair). Anyway my colleagues where geering me saying all sorts of things like "It's a lie! How could anyone pay someone to do something like that to your hair?' But believe me almost two years on my hair journey I get Men and women stopping me DAILY!! Shop assistants, all walks of life telling me how AMAZING my hair looks to the point that I'm giving out my loctician's number on a daily basis. I've had to apologise to my loctician and tell her you may have random people calling you because I always get stopped and people ask for her number.
Sis my last piece of advice to you is PATIENCE... I cannot stress to you how important that is because it wont happen overnight it is a gradual process but ☝🏾a process you will truly truly appreciate. Ooh and one more advice; less is more. Who ever created that impression knew what they were talking about , all you need to maintain your hair is Rosewater and vitamin E oil that's it ☝🏾 nothing more nothing less. I've subscribed because I want to see your journey. All the best 😘

I just got my sisterlocs on April 25th, I felt buyer remorse also..It is alot of money..but I wanted to be natural and I think this is the look for me..So my journey begins..I'll never tell someone how much they cost, because I know they will look at me crazy...I do however think Brand Ambassadors do charge too much...
Cynthia Bivens yes ma’am, I definitely think her price was ridiculous, but I wanted my hair done so I looked at it as an investment. I made the mistake of telling 3 people and 2 of them acted like I said it cost $5000, and one of them gets braids on a regular basis. I definitely have enjoyed having sisterlocks and I know you will too! Good luck on your journey. 💜

I scratch it now, but I think my loctician recommends it to keep the hair from marrying together.

Yes she did, and she actually has a website with a few pics on it. I am not sure if she did styles before, but I know she is about to move into shampooing and styling.

They are small and medium, but some of them seem to be micro. Make sure you are prepared for that long session. 😉

Sounds like you need to cut off zany conversation about your hair around your family. Be ready for more mess because surely your mother will tell your aunt how much you paid. When your hair starts growing long and strong she's going to eat her words?
The good thing about my mom is she knows her twin so she would never tell her how much I paid, and to be quite honest we usually aren't surprised about what comes out of that woman's mouth, but that doesn't mean she should say anything.
