The privilege of working for department that is wealthy enough to have sports medicine on site and cover those costs. Rest of us are paying out of pocket during our off-days to get that treatment, amazing. Applause to White River Fire prioritizing the health and fitness of their firefighters and medics, really great.
I used to work at a company that provided IT services to local and state governments. As the PM I got to go to every single fire station in my town and other towns and I gotta say they were incredibly cozy feeling. Very comfortable inside and the firefighters were awesome to us. They always had a ton of donuts or cookies the public dropped off for them that they’d let us have.
3500 calls, 70 FT members, 3 Stations. Props to whoever is in the councils back pocket.
This station is exceptional, gold standard!
This channel is so underrated, why!? The quality of this content is addicting, Keep up the great work!
There is a lot more to come. We are young so pass the word and help us build
he kills me with "platoon". it is a SHIFT lol
All of these Indiana stations are top notch. Hoosiers doin something right.
Thanks for reviewing an Indian fire department, GO INDIANA, INDIANS! WE LOVE YOU.
Platte Valley Fire Protection District in Kersey Colorado would blow your mind and be an amazing station cribs video.

That is one we'll thoughtout station design. Everything flows nicely from the admin side to the bay's and the living area.
This is now one of my favourite stations around.
Great video by the way.
Nice! When I saw you guys on the news here in Indy I was stoked for this!

A LIL LATE TO THE PARTY ,ON THIS CRIBS ! NICE,SHINNY! BUT IF WE COULD ALL HAVE A "GEAR ROOM" ,THAT WOULD CHANGE THE GAME FOR SURE ! THANK YOU BROTHER , VERY GOOD !

Hi from Russia.
Hey brother, greetings from Costa Rica, you must come to Costa Rica and make a report on the two new Metropolitan stations, u love it, Pura vida!!!
Yeah that would be great. Email watchheroesnextdoor@gmail and maybe we can make that happen ?? Might take some time but we will try !!
Ever thought of coming west, specifically to eastern Washington state? There are some cool stations in my area that would be fun to see full videos on and interviews!
I remember going in a field trip to a fire station and thought it was the coolest thing ever
Nice 👍
This is a really nice fire house
this station is luxury =]
Come down to Greenwood Indiana! We are right across from White River!
We are planning on making a trip back out, shoot us an email at watchheroesnextdoor@gmail.com
Nice 👍🏾
And this is the difference between a 1st world, developed country and a 3rd world country folks. What an amazing station. Yes, a lot of tax dollars have gone into it but that's what tax dollars are for. Saving lives, homes and everything in between. Just awesome and what a great example for the kids. The only sad thing is when the station master mentioned active school shooters as if it's a fairly common thing over there. Very sad indeed.
Great video HND, thanks and greetings from New Zealand. Stay safe everyone :)
Wow that station is huge can we have a rig tour of the ladder and the support unit please that would be auwsome
We will have to go back at some point and do that. Those are their reserve apparatus, that's why we didn't film them when we were there. The yellow specialty rig is going to be taken apart and redone soon too.
Looks amazing!!! * _ *
WOW! 'that shows a lot of support from the community to spend that much. We spent 1.5M on a new dispatch center and got tore apart by the media.
It all about transparency and making sure all stakeholders are on board.
Our town bonded out $2 million for a new VFD station and we only get 300 runs a year with NO EMS component.. (most runs are first responder non fire/accident medical runs going direct from a FF's home. ). a big nice pole barn would have done the job for $400,000-$600,000. The rest of that money could have been used for training , equipment ,all sorts of things that would improve recruitment and response even contracting for an extra private EMS rig would have been a better use of that $$
Well worth the money you men and women deserve it
If you guys could you should do IFD station 7 downtown Indianapolis. I think you’ll love it.
I used to live near there
Wow. We do about 4000 jobs a day in the LAS
God Bless
Wow
Im so hype like seriously i just turned 18 waiting to get out of school to become a firefighter
Nice so. Cool. Fire. Brigade
We used to bring our bunker pants back to the bunk room when we went to bed
You should do Terre Haute Fire Department (Indiana) Station 5. They just got a new badass Ladder truck here recently.
Send us an email at watchheroesnextdoor@gmail.com so we can make that happen!
So much about fire trucks
Dang, I remember when station 53 only had 1 engine and 1 ambulance. I took fire 1 and 2 at central nine and did some hours at station 51, off olive branch and 135. I still have my area 51 station 51 alien shirt.
Still dont get why they went to red and black trucks. I loved the bright yellow trucks.
That’s awesome! We saw a bunch of Area 51 stuff when we toured the new station 51, sounded like it was a fun time back then
Awesome station, even better is the staffing. ~23 full timers per shift for a run volume of 3,500? Interested in hearing what role the part timers play.
@@Jomskylark Not where I'm from, but hey the more hands the better in my opinion!
@@coreyraines9597 Yeah it’s interesting with how many people they got. My local fire department only has 155 full time members and responded to 11,258 calls for service and over 200 structure fires just last year.
Cries in Rural Volley.
You should do Orlando station 1 huge station I was just down there!!
Do you have contacts? Email us what you got and we can try to make it happen. Thanks for watching !! Watchheroesnextdoor@gmail.com
Great video.
I seen that safe haven baby thing on tiktok
3:00 my department has one too at the station I work
There popping up all over indiana. The lady that started it put in the first one at the fire station she worked at in Woodbury indiana.
I live in Indiana
As I watch this video, I notice that he notices a lot.
Could you do a station visit to Akron fire stations 2 East exchange Akron and station 9 on dodge ave.
Should check out wayne township station 82 if you ever get a chance. Dads the engineer on the ladder
Shoot us an email at watchheroesnextdoor@gmail.com so we can set that up
Hard to see that room as being pressurized with that type of door. Must be really low pressure. The equivalent to what your vehicle is when the windows are up and your fan/blower is on.
im from White River
Come to Rockland County Department 18 Stony Point NY Wayne Hose Co 1
Greetings from an Australian paramedic. Can somebody explain how the rostering works with the paramedics at Station 53? I'm assuming they work a 24 hour roster? A town that size here would yield about 10-12 jobs in a 24 period. My questions are what's the workload like, and how are they expected to work non stop in 24 hours? I'm in a larger city where we average 8-10 jobs in a 12 hour shift, so basically zero rest time, and maybe 2-3 hours on a nightshift.
They have 24 hour shifts for the fire fighters, but only 8 hour shifts for medic
you should check out station 4 in akron ohio. just built and it is over 35,000 square feet
Dude Have the chief or PIO send us an invite and we can get it on the schedule that would be awesome!!
They just bought two brand new pierce engines
3 stations... 3500 calls? That's like only 3 calls a day per station.. ahh must be nice
Is a ladder bls or als
My department is thinking as replacing two older engines with one engine that has a water take, jaws of life and hoses, it’s like a Tanker, Resuse, Engine
Here in Victoria, Australia all our urban brigades or either Volunteer (CFA), or full time (FRV) with no part time/paid firies.
Do part time US departments run off on call services? I’m uncertain and curious.
Cheers from down under 🇦🇺
We have a mix, larger cities are paid, mid size to small cities and towns are usually also often paid with some exceptions rural areas are usually all volunteers, however it is also become common to see departments running a mix of a paid with volunteers as extra manpower for large scale or multiple incidents. My department for example is paid EMS during the day with volunteers for second calls and night shift, we moved to this because our town is growing and in the last 4 or so years we went from about 500 calls for service to over 3,000. Other departments operate on a “paid on call” basis, for example I worked for a town where you got paid minimum wage to be “on call” with the perk of being able to sit at home and make money and if you were activated you received double time pay for the duration of that call which was a good way to keep cots low while make sure service is guaranteed when someone calls 911.
Thought the fire pole was cool
@9:16 anyone else notice the crack in the second floor floor there too?
Concrete floors do that when they dry. However, I assure you there is no issue.
If the bay area is a hot zone why did they put the big table with comfy chairs there? Seems like not the best place to lounge around right?
Even though it’s an area for them to hangout in, it’s not classified as a living space, that’s why they can have a table there. All of the trucks have exhaust vents connected to them so it’s still pretty safe
what was the manafactuer for the engine
The main one engine 53 is a 2007 crimson spartan which is the red one. The reserve engine 54 2003 American lafrance which is the yellow one.
2nd floor should be admin. Faster response times if the firefighters are on the first floor. Why have a table and chairs in the hot zone?
Table in the engine bay for those nice days with the doors open and public to see. They still have great response times even being on the 2nd floor
@@HeroesNextDoor carcinogens are always present in the Hot zone, carcinogens are not COVID. It’s also science, firefighters utilizing stairs or poles increase injury while responding, with distance causing response delays. Our citizens deserve fastest possible responses. It’s a nice station, not advantageous for a busy department though. Gods speed! Stay safe! Thank you for your service!
Can you do a fire station it is called Newburgh Hopewell fire department it is in Pennsylvania station 51
Shoot us an email at watchheroesnextdoor@gmail.com so we can make that happen!
Until he met the Captain I thought you were running the station
You guys should do rotterdam fire district 2 nd in upstate new York
Are you a firefighter or paramedic?
Can you do setauket Ny?
We can try to, shoot an email to watchheroesnextdoor@gmail.com with any contact info you have for someone there
Do paramedics sleep at the firehouse?
@@hudsonbeckom8875 not all do so I really wouldn’t classify your response as intelligent
