I would like to see a lot of techwear that goes more and more in the style of Tripp, with more straps and contrast stitching and overall boldness, while also very much doing its own thing such as having much more avant-garde variety and having more unconventional cuts and asymmetry. This is exactly what I was looking for! Me and my fiancé are just starting to get into Techwear and have been doing a lot of research. We have watched “The Casual” techwear topic vids and of course your vids too. Thank you for the video- helped a lot. We have been buying things that we end up not liking. So the things that you pointed out helps! Performance and function, absolutely agree. Appreciate it! Question I did have was: what are your suggestions essential accessories for techwear fashion?
I am don't partake in techwear myself, I just like fashion in general so I cannot help with brands but from what I've seen any type of bag, from pocket heavy hiking or military backpacks, or sleek waterproof roll top backpacks, to messenger style bags, to any type of harness bag/holster bag. Cargo vests also fit into the style very well, just be careful not to get anything too bulletproof vest or Flack jacket looking as they tend to be more costume-like (old Guerilla Group vests are great examples of nice cargo vests). Gloves are common in winter fits, nylon or packable baseball caps are pretty cool too, if they are nice and minimal they can add a nice touch to an outfit. If you want to go for a more military look I would totally recommend a shemagh, a very cool alternative to a scarf or neck gaiter, and finally a simple black or grey toque (or beanie to you Americans) can be a nice addition, especially if it's one of those chunky ribbed ones. Anyway, those are just my suggestions, hope it helps
Dee Gee thank you for the recommendation! That’s definitely helps. I’m currently making a shopping list for accessories and things I’m looking for but it’s all about cost. Techwear so expensive. I’m trying to go minimal so only few items here and there to make it part of my wardrobe. Appreciate your suggestions- definitely helpful!
Only three types of accessories really blend well with techwear, beanies, messenger and satchel style bags and sunglasses. Don't fall into the tech ninja/goth starpas everywhere meme version of techwear, stick to grey man and hikercore which blend well with most things.
Really glad you found it useful! Ultimately if I help someone that makes it worth it. For me I think the only essential things are what you consider to be essential. For example if you only carry a few things day-to-day then a small satchel or sling bag would make a great accessory - if not, maybe a larger messenger bag or even a backpack. Some people swear by carabiners to attach keys etc. to their belts, but personally I've never used one as I prefer having them in a pocket. It all depends on what you want your clothing to do!
I have a Vietnam rice hat and a bandanna that I love wearing together. I can probably build something insanely cool if I hybrid some traditional stuff with 'techwear'. Surprisingly they merge very well with a lot of clothing styles.
I remember you posted a link to a few sale items before and one of them was the Adidas Karkaj GORE-TEX jacket. I bought it straight away and had it with me all summer. My first proper experience with that kind of item and i absolutely loved being able to just sling it over my back whenever the sun came out. Perfect for sun showers and its silhouette was appealing to me. It isn't ideal for this colder time of year so I just have a DryVent North Face for the moment. Have a pair of GTX Salomons that I got off Sports Direct for about €100 quid that can look decent in a fit on a budget too and a pair of Adidas GTX NMD's. I work a lot so I don't really have time or want to wear something that I'll worry about damaging. (definitely want an Acronym jacket someday) You don't always have to spend a lot basically to get something with added functionality. Just keep your eyes open.
I’d also say, if you’re asking “is this techwear?” You’re probably worrying too much what other people think. You can mix and match pretty much anything for this look. I also find it more appealing (imo) to sprinkle in just a few overly visual pieces to a more subtle setup. For instance, nicely fitted workout joggers, gortek waterproof black high tops, black fitted ‘cuts’ long line tees shirt, black stutterheim trench with one tech badge and maybe a black shoulder satchel looks way less try-hard than someone buying a fully kitted drop-shipped outfit that doesn’t mesh with anything else they own. Not to contradict myself tho, I do have intense jackets, m56 helmets and RGB clothing, but I save that for random events, or sometimes just when I’m running a short errand, feeling a tad cosplay or whatever. It truly just ads a little fun to the mundane.
Focus on breathable sweat wicking fabrics, black might be ruled out but white and beige monochrome tones would look dope. It rains in FL right? Water proof outerwear, shoes, bucket hats. Basically adapt to your environment.
If anything you have the privilege of spending less on items for seasons all year round because FL weather is pretty consistent. The joy of a maritime climate.
Yo same but like buy a hoodie for a fit of winter or spring, I use a lot of joggers on my style but that's me probably a nice shirt with a nice bag or accessorie
The first thing I did with my shoes was actually like--I was given a pair of adidas lightweight shoes, and I just got an elastic shoelace set to put on them instead of regular laces, to give them a more techwear look and add utility so they're easy to put on and take off. I felt like that was a better move than buying a waterproof shoe I might never wear.
just want to expand on the "combining form + function" and the "avoid #techwear" points: materials are very important, they are mostly the reason why techwear clothing can be superior to normal clothes in some situations. Knowing what your garments are made of gives you information about the situations in which you can comfortably use them and have some functionality. there is no right or wrong, it all depends on your preferences, so cotton is still a good material in the right situation and handled the right way, for example. Be sure to look at the material content the stuff is made of, and then at least gogle the material if you dont know it already. Most of the techwear community os pretty open and informative about these kind of things, so do not hesitate to ask if you are unsure.
Thanks! Good point there, and the combination of high material performance and complex tailoring is what makes premium techwear clothing inherently expensive. But as you say, there are a variety of different materials and each is best at different things. Schoeller dryskin is comfy with some water resistance and breathability for example, but is more easily torn or damaged than stotz (a cotton-based material used by Acronym, Enfin Leve etc.)
I just got into the idea of techwear and I wanted to start off really subtle rather than buying a bunch of stuff and becoming a tech ninja overnight. I do like the fashion aspect but functionality is more important for me. I thought my first outfit should be cheap and something I can wear to work. I work in a really hot kitchen and that's where I need functional clothing the most. I need stuff that has extra pockets and is breathable. Many probably won't consider my first outfit techwear but since I went out of my way to pick an outfit specifically for functionality in a given scenario, I do. I headed over to Walmart and picked up these really thin breathable black form-fitted t-shirts with chest pockets ($5 each) and a black unbranded baseball cap with breathable material that honestly looks like the Nike ACG cap a bit ($7). The bill of the hat kind of hangs down and covers my face a bit giving me that mysterious look. I also got some slim black scrub pants ($14 each). I felt like the scrub pants were a genius idea because they have similar functionality to cargos with the extra pockets and what-not, but are much thinner and more breathable than cargos or chef's pants. They were also much cheaper than those other options. As simple as it sounds, I do feel quite sleek when I wear the outfit and it's extremely functional for working in the kitchen. The whole outfit comes together when I wear my all-black futuristic-looking backpack with my black "smart" water bottle visible in the outside pocket. Because the outfit is so cheap I don't have to baby it. If I get it stained or rip the pants or something I can replace those pieces and it's no big deal. I plan on getting more traditional techwear branded stuff in the future for everyday wear outside of work.
Omg I'm so glad I stumbled upon your video and channel. I always loved this style of clothing, but didn't know it was called Techwear, or where to find the best quality. All ever see online are websites use the originals to advertise their knock off, like Wish. That's how I found out about you. I hope you make more of those videos of what not to buy comparisons.
i tend to favor the more military techwear look. def #5 hits home with me. i'm not trying to scare tf out of the public. i tend to have to think about my looks and keep them anchored in reality, idk. a techwear starter pack would be cool. also where the how to style socks and sandals vid at?
Can't wait for the winterized shoe video; my environment gets a lot of rain throughout the year, especially during winter and I've been looking for a good pair. Great video as always!
SADE. Yea, the all blacks are probably what Im going to get if I cop. If you really wanna get jazzy, they let you id the shoe for an additional $20. The shoes just looks really fast and sleek. Very distinctive silhouette in my opinion.
I'm getting into techwear and I want to get something good and useful even if I go off so my biggest purchase I might make is a £100 north face coat I'm on a budget but willing to splash, is that a good idea
My style isnt techwear but has some aspects of it but this applies to all styles. I have always liked to take my time finding the right outfits. i rarely buy online and go around the country in all kind of clothing stores to find the perfect pieces. And my favorite outfit right now doesnt even cost much and i love it. its comfortable, i love the look and it turns heads. everything together cost me like 400 euros and half of that was the Off-White belt 😅
Imagine living in a hot city in sPain where it hardly ever rains, and temp never goes under 15C and buying nice warm waterproof gear... oh shit :) My tip would be to save some money and go for any Enfin Leve pants, even the cotton twill ones. Best and most comfortable pants i've ever worn, and if concerned about using them too much, retaw and Mr. Black Garment Essentials sell some sprays to extend the life of pants before needing a wash.
Really late to comment this but on what Antwon said about techwear shoes. Like I tried so hard trying to find a techwear style pair then I just looked through Nike and Adidas especially the Nike huaraches are the best ones
I live in Orange County, CA. For perspective 5°C is considered too cold and 30°C considered is too hot. So I guess athleisure tech might be the way to go for me?
Ethan March its convenient that nike has something that’s actually called Tech Pack then. There, you’ll find some pretty good garments of all sorts of different styles and fits at a reasonable(for techwear) price.

I know this isn't something you'd concern yourself with (other than being tall), but do you know any brands that make clots beyond XL (which is usually Asian XL) and would cater to us larger folk? I'd actually never even considered capes/poncho's etc. that would get around this, but noticed your video on one that opened my eyes. Any chance for a 10 coolest capes/poncho's video? Seems to be the issue even with sneakers that some of the "main" brands just don't make anything over EU size 45 etc.
There are a few good brands out there doing custom stuff (Enfin Leve, Garuda and Rosen-X are the top 3) and can make products at all kinds of sizes if you provide measurements. There's not really that many 'good' ponchos out there honestly, but looking at military stuff is probably your best bet from a performance and durability perspective
@@ThisIsAntwon Thanks. Yeah, military and other "tactical" stuff has been my go-to for years now. Need to check out those brands if they have something specific I'd dig :)
just a question. i have this $10 rain jacket (it really is comfortable to wear though the insides is plastic-like and the water beads off the material)/or just a black hoodie, i have a sling bag that looks like a military sling that can house pa pistol (really) a pair of boots (columbia brand) and just a pair of black jogger pants (maybe i will buy a different kind in the future) and i think i'm considering it for a techwear, am i wrong to do this? i'm open to suggestions... XD
What if I only want the look but not all the functionality things? I do not care if it is "tech", for me is more important how it looks. can you tell me maybe some places where to find such cloth? thanks mate
I really wanna wear this type of stuff for a cool parkour fit (for photo shoots and parkour haha) i just wanna know what are some good brands and good websites to goto. Thank you
I am missing good cargos .. you can find good jacket for 200€ but it's hard to find cargos under 300 I like (+ liked Acg cargos but they were too short, has to rerirnu them)
Do you own any Japanese denim ? Samurai jeans or PBJ etc? As for water resistant shoes Ive found the Adidas terrex range pretty reliable , they have an all black sneaker that looks cool af with most outfits and is lined with le gore . Also man I think techwear should be actually durable and have a level of performance and not just for copying other brands sake , you can include some aspects of motorcycle clothing , snowboarding , mountaineering etc if they all have function and form .
Is this a good list for my first techwear shop •Nike 2090 £125 • Roller coaster belt £15 • Graphic hoodie x2 £40 • Cargo trousers techwear £50 • North face coat £100 • Cross body bag £16 Total: £346
Edward Pandiawan i’d say fit is your best bet. Unless of course the jacket is meant to fit that way. I’ve tried the whole oversized thing on a jacket that wasnt suppose to be worn that way. All the utility features become a little bit harder to use. Hand pockets sat too low, kinda uncomfortable when you wanna rest your hands in there. Sleeve bunches up into stacked layers cuz too long.
The shoe actually made me happy cause i just bought new Jordan why not .5 and thought that i messed up. thanks for the video, helps out but it doesnt help out my economy

techwear is fashion,it has nothing to do with technical materials, cut and fit. The mention of wearing a plain cotton tee proves that,as the wearing of any cotton as a base layer is a big nono to anyone that knows anything about technical clothing/physical activities. A bit like taking advice from a cyclist on cycling matters thats wearing a helmet 2 sizes to small. To the average joe everything the helmet wearing cyclist advice given is gospel, but to somebody in the know would be thinking what is this muppet talking about as they clearly arnt aware that cycle helmet is 2 sizes to small,so im assuming all that comes out of the cyclist wearing a helmet 2 sizes to small is complete codswallop. So im assuming as you say a cotton tee is ok,you know nowt about technical clothing, its just fashion. A cheap led built into a cheap beenie is techwear fashion.

(definitely want an Acronym jacket someday)
You don't always have to spend a lot basically to get something with added functionality. Just keep your eyes open.
I'd love to see a techwear starter kit vid
It truly just ads a little fun to the mundane.
i live in Florida where the weather is hot 90% of the year lol. How can I techwear :,(
Relocate to Boston
Focus on breathable sweat wicking fabrics, black might be ruled out but white and beige monochrome tones would look dope. It rains in FL right? Water proof outerwear, shoes, bucket hats. Basically adapt to your environment.
If anything you have the privilege of spending less on items for seasons all year round because FL weather is pretty consistent. The joy of a maritime climate.
I just suffer..
4:17 where do you get that jacket ;P
Most stuff you say like being sure about what you really want to buy is basically what you should do with everything
Techwear is a winter game. Which I’m happy it’s so cold, but In the summer I stick to slides, fitted black tshirts and joggers.
4:12 love the bag
Aaawwwww man I just spent $7,000 on tech wear cargo waterproof socks. Should have seen this vid....
Arc’teryx Squamish jacket is a good start
Can't wait for the winterized shoe video; my environment gets a lot of rain throughout the year, especially during winter and I've been looking for a good pair.
Great video as always!
Thanks man, luckily there are loads of cool options this season
SADE. Pegasus turbo shield is the best for me
@@dankmemer2774 yeah those actually look really cool and streamlined, im digging it
SADE. Yea, the all blacks are probably what Im going to get if I cop. If you really wanna get jazzy, they let you id the shoe for an additional $20. The shoes just looks really fast and sleek. Very distinctive silhouette in my opinion.
I have the gortex nmds and they're super nice for rain but not for the cold I'd check em out but they're not snow shoes
Imagine living in a hot city in sPain where it hardly ever rains, and temp never goes under 15C and buying nice warm waterproof gear... oh shit :)
My tip would be to save some money and go for any Enfin Leve pants, even the cotton twill ones. Best and most comfortable pants i've ever worn, and if concerned about using them too much, retaw and Mr. Black Garment Essentials sell some sprays to extend the life of pants before needing a wash.
Great VID Ant, really solid advice and man that new camera looks so good!!
Thanks king
I wish having techwear advices for hot summer weather, like 30C
you should look into BBS Bamba 2 and BBS Bamba 3's in terms of waterproof shoes. They have the techwear aesthetic 100% and they're also waterproof.
gotta be a tropical techwear here in brazill thx you made it clear for me i'm happy
If this video was out 2 years ago I wouldn't have wasted 300 on holy grail lol. I learned a lot since then
I think everyone's made purchases they later regret at some point, it's all about the journey :D
Thank You! i needed that.
i live in california...i have no use for the rain resistant features lol
I'm struggling to find info on the most useful/actually tech-packed clothes, help?
Ethan March its convenient that nike has something that’s actually called Tech Pack then. There, you’ll find some pretty good garments of all sorts of different styles and fits at a reasonable(for techwear) price.
I use Psy wear mixed with teck wear, industrial teck rave, and Vedic tradition kurtas. Psy wear vest, underneath teck wear kimono. pants Psy teck wear Silver and gold rings with crystals from "other times" shoes, sandals. Here in Portugal it is almost always hot. The color of everything, black the color of the aghori sadhus. The past and the future in the present.
I have just decided to committing to techwear this year so this video was perfect! Thanks you!!
Glad I could help!
Good video, I got some legit chuckles. And yes, I brought the black AF1 goretex boots #predictable
Another great and informative video, thanks Antwon!
Ima wear a bunch of flannel hiker boots and beanies in the winter and pretend it's only for functional purposes
XD
My man antwon just shouted out corbin
What if I only want the look but not all the functionality things? I do not care if it is "tech", for me is more important how it looks.
can you tell me maybe some places where to find such cloth? thanks mate
I really wanna wear this type of stuff for a cool parkour fit (for photo shoots and parkour haha) i just wanna know what are some good brands and good websites to goto. Thank you
New comment to an old video, what's the best way to discover old and new techwear brands/pieces for the fashion inept, beyond channels like this one?
I am missing good cargos .. you can find good jacket for 200€ but it's hard to find cargos under 300 I like (+ liked Acg cargos but they were too short, has to rerirnu them)
Can anyone tell me where I can find this type of style pants for a 6yr old kid? I'm looking but no luck
Dope vid Adele!
I just want clothes with pockets that can be zipped for the stuff I have on me so I dont have to carry a backpack everywhere
That shirt is fresh
Now I want to find Gore-Tex underwear.
can you name the top 20 techwear brands?
Back in my day we wore jeans and a t shirt
I am now feeling academically enriched ....you should be a college professor 😆 great vid
Yo Antwon any tips on finding any Huarache Gripp in the uk or will i need to get them imported cant find them anywhere.
Dezah no longer in the US(official nike web) either. Import is probably your best bet.
Hey Archway, you've got a lot of IKEA furniture!
I'm borrowing the studio at work but yeah it's IKEA'd to the max
@@ThisIsAntwon Ah! That will help to explain the pink coat situation
I really appreciate this video thank you
what model are the shoes at 7.30?
What is your PC case? I'm super interested
It's a Phanteks Enthoo Evolv!
@@ThisIsAntwon Thank you! Have a good day!
Is this a good list for my first techwear shop
•Nike 2090 £125
• Roller coaster belt £15
• Graphic hoodie x2 £40
• Cargo trousers techwear £50
• North face coat £100
• Cross body bag £16
Total: £346
ID on your Amdus bag?
thanks dude
Good review 👍
ayy thanks man!
👊
Does the size of the jacket matter if it does should i buy one that is just nice fitting to my body or oversize abit?
Edward Pandiawan i’d say fit is your best bet. Unless of course the jacket is meant to fit that way. I’ve tried the whole oversized thing on a jacket that wasnt suppose to be worn that way. All the utility features become a little bit harder to use. Hand pockets sat too low, kinda uncomfortable when you wanna rest your hands in there. Sleeve bunches up into stacked layers cuz too long.
@@dankmemer2774 i see thanks a lott
How can i not be mistaken for a HK protester when im in an all-black fit?
Don't carry molotovs, tennis raquets or picket signs and you're good to go
The shoe actually made me happy cause i just bought new Jordan why not .5 and thought that i messed up. thanks for the video, helps out but it doesnt help out my economy
neat, thanks
One word. M O N E Y LOL
Any magicians ?
I live in Brazil, I really like techwear, but here is above 25ºC (77ºF) all year, even during winter.

Techwear-outfits is pretty cool 👍
It’s July 16th. I’m finna try to wear a whole lot of hot stuff anyway.
Nice PC.
He made the joke about the gore tex niqab but I'm Muslim and I want one 😔
Not sure about a full niqab but Nike definitely do sports-ready headscarves
yes first comment tech wear goal achieved
+1 technical hi-5
This community always feels like it hates itself the most of anyone lmao
Nike ISPA Envelopes=Best techwear shoes
Only techwear worth it are the jackets from 5060 big cartel
Wanna hear my techwear loadout?
1. Black palladium high top boots. Not as over the top and pricey as combat boots but renowned for durability and splash resistance. Like, $120 or something
2. A $60 Aldi shell and liner jacket I stumbled upon by accident. I don't know if it's gore-tex, I don't know if it's 100% waterproof, I don't care. It has a hood that rolls up into the neck and the fleece liner zips out. When I go diving I zip the outer shell off and use the fleece jacket as my drysuit undergarment. So T3k bro.
3. An $18 bag I bought from Kmart. It's black, it's small and it has a single shoulder strap with a phone pouch on it. Looks so ninja bro. It's the perfect size for my Galaxy tab 8.0 and a logitech blutooth keyboard. So cool man
4. White or black Kmart plain t-shirt, roughly $10. Colour dependent on mood and tacticoolness requirements... Usually black
5. Choice of - black skinny jogger jeans, khaki skinny jogger jeans (same design, different colour, $30), or black semi-waterproof fitness jogger pants, about $20.
Life savings level spending not required
Get triggered haters and gate keepers
Selling J56-GT in XL and P10-S in L btw
(Get urself into Acronym starter pack)
Where? How much?
Goretex underwear hahahaha

it is not really techwear more techical clothing
buy less use longer !!!!!!
techwear is fashion,it has nothing to do with technical materials, cut and fit.

Lol who cares? It is not about prices.
It is about lifestyle...the feeling.. Who cares about artistic. It is cyberpunk future feeling. So who cares if it is waterproofed😂 my sandals aren't, too. And most Germans wear their socks in the sandals..
