Greetings, I have a problem with the installation of Sedlog, I get the following message when I run the program: “Unable to read DataBase: one or more files are missing” If I could help correct that problem would greatly appreciate it.
Here is how i solved: in the official site download the version 3.1. FIRST install Java, then SedLog. Once you have done, open the app with java and all should go fine. If that doesn't work, reinstall the app with the setup. It should all go fine.
So I want to use this software to create a borehole log with measurements starting from the top. However, after adding 3 beds, the first bed does not start at 0m depth, but rather at 50 cm. How do I fix this problem, so my top layer actually starts at 0m depth? Cheers
Can anyone tell me how to add lithologies and symbols? I tried and got a msg saying that SedLog can't read the .svg or the .svgz file I created in Inkspace.
Hello, The program is great although I do not have numbers appearing in the scale object.. probably because I am putting in some vert small cores (60 cm in total length). Is there a way to put in scale..? Thanks
I've loaded everything fine, but for some reason it doesn't actually load. I have downloaded both versions of Java and the load up screen just flickers on and then off again. Any help would be appriciated. Cheers.

Hi, probably too late to help you, but in case anyone else sees - I added a blank bed at the bottom of the log which is the exact size of the space at the top. It shifts everything up and into line. Bit of a work around but it sort of solves it!
make them in for instance inkskape in 5*5 px and import them via tools -> lithologies/symbols -> import, alternatively the usgs or other instances have publications with catalogs of symbols
I was able to get .csv importing to work by first creating a dummy file in Sedlog with just a few units and features that I wanted and then exporting it as .csv. Then you can look at that file and see the format that Sedlog likes, and copy/paste your data into the appropriate columns. In fact, if you do it this way you will even be able to do the "automatic" rather than "custom" import. So far I have been unsuccessful in my attempts to import additional lithology patterns though.
SedLog won’t run on my MacBook, can anyone share, If you have an idea on how to run it on MacBook
It's a shame that there is no updated version of this program. It is very useful but could be improved some details.
