Big Band Jazz at it's finest! The late Chick Corea would be so proud of this performance of his classic tune. Flute,Sax and Vibes solos to die for and these youngsters are having so much fun and clearly loving what they do,how can you not get caught up in the Joy of it all!! A Special mention too to their BRILLIANT MAESTRO M.D./Conductor-Fabulous! BRAVO KINDAI!!!
Let's not overlook what a great arrangement this is . It's exciting, difficult and allows each section to have it's day. The soloists are out of this world even if they have memorized their solos. They still perform with idiomatically correct phraring and interesting use of the scales for this piece. The conductor stays out of the way but offers cues only as needed . he lets the students be the "stars". Could it be that this band only plays jazz classics like this? BTW I loved the insertion of material from LaFiesta during the out chorus-the transition back to Spain was seemless. Imagine a giant concert band like this (100+) that only plays jazz standards. It's unheard of.

このアレンジは熱帯JAZZ楽団のものですね、フルートもJファレルのソロをかなりコピーして聞かせます、リズムが結構難しいのに、よくまとめていて素晴らしいです、同じ大阪人として嬉しい。

ソロを取ったフルート、ソプラノサックス、ビブラフォン、シロフォン。上手いね〜。
ドラムスやピアノにもソロを取らしたら化けたかも
演奏も編曲も大好きです。ソロパートがたまらないですね。

I stand corrected-this band is also a great concert material ensemble. Head and shoulders above most other bands.
