in this course i understood the correlation of deviated wells and vertical wells . for deviated wells the correlation is done on TVD while in vertical wells its done on MD by defining The top of the reservoir and bottom according to the first well . Sr i watch your video but i can accept that your explanations are clear, simple thanks a lot
Great explanation on Deviated well and their correlation.
learned about the conditions to analyze multi-wells.
learned about measured depth and true vertical depth.
the methods to calculate TVD
how to determine the change in TVD.
Jake Visnic
1) I learned about TVD calculations
2) I learned that you can take cores from different orientations
3) Iearned the role of histograms in characterizing reservoirs
4)learned the difference between TVD and measured depth and the significance of getting the value correct
-Logan Brookover
I can't thank you enough for the invaluable information!
Moving ahead, I look forward to Lecture #2 & #3, by the way very important.
I recommend you Dr. Moustafa. Much Appreciation straight from a Geoscientist in Pointe-Noire
Shukroh, jazakallahu khayran!! Dr Moustafa
You're great, Dr.
#1 I learned that md and TVD are not always the same, and that to make lithology comparisons between them you need calcuations to compare.
#2 I learned the equations and methods for the tvd calculation
#3 I learned the basic approach to correlating wells across fields and how structures like pinchouts can appear in the logged stratigraphy
#4 The importance of not just focusing on a specific well but the system of wells that is allowing hydrocarbon production
-Tanner Hurst
I can't stop laughing. Dr. Moustafa Oraby is holding such great lectures with so much energy and in the end he gets all the questions that hint not everyone is following the lectures too closely xD
#1 There is open-hole logging and cased-hole logging which gives different data.
#2 Vertical and horizontal cores can be drilled and give different information about the reservoir.
#3 A variogram can give data from different wells and considers their spacing.
#4 There is variability between different wells based on their orientation, so only wells with similar trajectories can be compared to each other.
- Carson Halbower
1) I learned that reservoir characterization usually consists of three main parts: geology/depositional environment, rock properties and formation evaluation.
2) I learned that a variogram is a chart similar to a histogram, but shows the distribution of wells and their spacing relative to one another; it is a multi-well evaluation.
3) I learned about True Vertical Depth (TVD) calculations and how they are important for making multi-well correlations.
4) I learned about the Azimuth angle and how it is an industry standard angle that is 30 degrees clockwise from North.
-Paige Schindler
Much Appreciated for this lecture.
Thank you for this amazing lecture
Thanks so much we really appreciate that .
amazing as always
great lecture
thank you. please can you insert the subtitle on the videos
Amazing lecture 🙌
#1 I learned TVD isnt always MD. #2 I learned we use well logs to map geology throughout a field to better understand a reservoir. #3 field correlations can be very helpful in development. #4 Field histograms can help predict future well production and reservoirs. - Trevor McNeill
thank you Dr oraby
Thanks a lot Dr.
please provide subtitle also........it will help Indian students
very helpfull lecture
Amazing teacher. Everything so clear. Students: "Why we drill a horizontal well?" LMFAO
waiting for the next lecture
1) I learned that md has nothing to do with the zone thickness only depends on tvd
2) I learned how to do the tvd calculation
3) also shows clearly how to aim the drill to hit the formation of interest
4)the y use well logs to understand the reservoir as well as make a geomechanics model for the field you're drilling in
-wade smith
can someone please share the zoom link for this course. I missed the first lecture but i would like to attend all the next ones. Thank you in advance.
What are the differences for reservoir characterizations of convention and unconventional reservoirs.
The introductor seem to be very tense, great webinar tho, thank you
"Nobody uses SP" half of my Wireline Logging course was spent studying SP tools :(
Thank you for this amazing lecture
