We never filled a pit silo in the rain in real life. But we have been halfway through filling one and gotten a rain. We went ahead filling after the rain past. When we have did that. All season long as we used the silage it had a two-inch to 4 inch bad layer of bad silage to deal with. Everything exposed to the rain goes bad while fermenting. I just thought I would throw that out in the event anyone cared.
I'd recommend instead of using a bucket for when you sell silage use a conveyor belt considering you will have so much of it. Also just saw the part were you were harvesting in the rain and DO NOT DO THIS, before the game just stopped you but in FS 22 you loose like 40% of the harvest if you harvest during the rain. And the additives give you 5% bonus, I think it mentions this in the help menu.
to harvesr in the rain.. you lose 50% of the crop.. no mather what crop it is.. done the testing.. for me i got 23k corn on a sunny day and only 11.5k on a rainy day on the same field.. same with chap.. 168k from a sunny day and only 84k from a rainy day.. done the testing on my test map.. the only crops you can harvest and not lose any yield are grapes, olives, patatoes and sugar beets...
Running the loader in the pit is the most stressful job when doing silage. You need to spread the silage 10-20cm thick and then compact it before next load is coming in. In order not to have the machine stuck against the wall you need sides little-bit higher then the center. Mastering making even layers is key. If you end up with a hole, you are in trouble since they are kind of tricky to fill in, due to the need of compaction and time pressure. I really miss working on farms.
Its especially stressful when the chopper is only 1 or 2 fields away and there's a heavy crop, I was never jealous of the man on the pit when there'd be 2 or 3 of us in trailers waiting to dump our grass and he was still pushing up the load from the last guy to dump.
Autodrive is out for fs22 already. It is the perfect tool for forage harvesting. You use the harvester. Set a course for the worker to deliver to the pit and come back to you and a course for the wheel loader to drive back and forth over the pit
Just an FYI, you can configure that semi trailer to slide empty rather than raise empty. That's why it's advertising "3 in 1" on the side of it. There's other ways to dump it.
Another collectible for you. Carry on past Le Jardin Des Fermiers to the next house on the left. You will see a Parking sign in front of the gates. Go round the right hand side of the gate where you can jump over the wall. you will see a recess with a tree in it. Collectible is on the right hand side. Keepup the great work Daggerwin
When you’re dumping your silage, instead of dumping it as you move, try to back in with the trailer and and dump it all at the end. That may make the job a little easier
so what ive seen some farmers do, is there are 3 people total and 2 trailers. you have the person in the field in the forager pulling and loading into a trailer, 1 person in a tractor that is constantly switching the empty for the full trailer from the forager and shuttling it to the pit, and 1 person in the pit compacting. pretty much the only time the forager stops is to unhook the full and re-hook to the empty.
I tried this but swapping the trailer is pretty annoying. Instead I just pull all auger trailer behind the Harvester and it can pour into another trailer as I come up beside
Daggerwin you should buy the Pottinger direct drill again as it was just a glitch that when u drill grass the seed depletes instantly but when u drill grain crops the seed consumption should be normal hope this helps love the vids keep up the good work :)
Just bought the oil factory and the farmer‘s market. Saves all the travelling across the map and gets a lot more money for canola oil and sunflower oil.
In dutch we have a saying "voor een appel en een ei" (for an apple and an egg) meaning reallycheap. Funding the workers and renting with eggs.. that makes me smile
Thanks for great videos, Daggerwin. I am about ten videos behind in this series, so perhaps this has already been mentioned, I just learned something about production factories today. If you own a factory, e.g., the Oil Mill, and you then complete a Harvest Contract that requires you to deliver the harvest (whether canola, sunflowers, or olives) to the Oil Mill, the oil mill, i.e., you, receive 100% of the harvest, not just the 20+% of the bonus harvest, as normal. So, for example today I own the oil mill and completed a harvest contract for sunflowers. It was a very small field, and the total harvest was only 6,900 l. I expected that the first 80% would be delivered to the oil mill but I would not actually "see" it, either as income or whatever. I was hopeful for at least 20% to remain after the contract complete that I could use myself at the oil mill. But 100% of the 6,900 l of sunflowers now appear in the oil mill which I can now process into sunflower oil at 2.5x average cost of sunflowers. The contract value was approximately $1,200; with the bonus of 100% now being turned into sunflower oil and all for me, that will now be worth 6.9 x the cost of sunflower oil, or close to $35,000! Is this the "Contract bonus yield is too high - enjoy it while it lasts" mentioned in the Giants 1.2 changelog?
The 140K bunker silo is for sure worth the investment. I bought 37, plowed up all the extra land I could, and planted grass. I put the 25x34 silo at the end and just dump the grass from the field in all year, covering it in Nov, and selling it between then and Feb, whenever the price spikes. I also downloaded the Milling Machine mod because moving nearly 1 million liters of silage every year is a pain with a bucket
Irl silage additive is used to help with the fermentation process just in case the bacteria to cause the fermentation process is not as present as it should be for the proper fermentation of the chaff

The forage harvester starts to fill the trailers, and after the first couple of loads are dumped, one stays behind to shape the layers, and compact it. I would put the same size pit next to the existing one. You can still fit a bit from the other fields in to your existing pit. And the rest in the new one if you were to build that next to it. I think it would look good and it isn't to expensive so your not wasting money since it will all fit so why buy a bigger one :). Incase you wanted to know,. What you're making is called a silage clamp. You're clamping the material down and then you sheet it. But just to expand your knowledge its called a clamp
Normally for 100+ acers I used 2 of those small cardboard boxes on the pallet so the additive should last pretty long in saying that this was grass and it depends how much you water it down
it does reduce yeild by 5%, but the additive increased by 5%, so yes, you were right. it just evened out in the end, he probably would have had another 3/4 load if it were not raining

Daggerwin, if you take round bale spikes and squish the pallets with them you can get them unstuck. Unless you tried this already you should try it.
Yes! here we go! Just started the video and can't wait to see what it yields....
Amazing series always look forward to your videos!
that semi trailer has 3 tipping modes, one is the tipping but the other is the walking floor mode, and the last is the grain door
You can stack eggs, i've sold so far 49.000L in one go, put like 9,000L in the truck alone by fasten the belts
Incase you wanted to know,. What you're making is called a silage clamp. You're clamping the material down and then you sheet it. But just to expand your knowledge its called a clamp
Is there a difference in price between silage bales and silage in the pit?
That trailer has a belt dump feature as well you could use instead of lifting
There's Auto Drive Mod out for FS22 where you can program tasks and multiple round trips and other things.
Splendid.
I think that the worker was putting more on the front to put more weight to the axle of the lorry
Best fs youtuber i know and i know a lot of them, great video daggerwin🙂
The reason it glitches is because the grass texture is partially under the silo, I found that if you clean that up in construction it's much better.
Cant you use the silage pit at the biogas if you run out of room or do you need to own the biogas land
Well having a big pit does use a bit of space daggerwin but if u think about it if u got a bigger pit that will allow more silage and a bigger income
Normally for 100+ acers I used 2 of those small cardboard boxes on the pallet so the additive should last pretty long in saying that this was grass and it depends how much you water it down
There is a adapter to attach wheel loader implements on telehandlers on the modhub
I thought that harvesting in the rain would give -5% yield. It could be that it’s different for chaff.
Also, I think the additive gives +5%, so…
it does reduce yeild by 5%, but the additive increased by 5%, so yes, you were right. it just evened out in the end, he probably would have had another 3/4 load if it were not raining
@@wyattg2208 to harvesr in the rain.. you lose 50% of the crop.. no mather what crop it is.. done the testing.. for me i got 23k corn on a sunny day and only 11.5k on a rainy day on the same field..
same with chap.. 168k from a sunny day and only 84k from a rainy day.. done the testing on my test map..
the only crops you can harvest and not lose any yield are grapes, olives, patatoes and sugar beets...
iv managed to some how fit just under 600,000 litres in the clamp. it does stack up and looks like it’s about to overflow but it didn’t with me. keep compacting as much as u can and it should be alright 🤙👍
Well when filling up trailers you fill it up from the drive axle moving back
And similar to dump trucks you fill it from the drive axle from back to front
