You can make cepelinai at home 😊 We do that. Like basically every family, just it takes a lot of time and energy. I usually call those days "Cepelinai party" and all guests put their hand on the process of making 😂 And then everyone eat and do that MMMMMMM... For one person it is too much work really 😊 By the way, nice videos... This one killed me... NORIU CEPELINŲ!!!!!!
Cepelinai made of mix of boiled potatoes and grinded potatoes (after water squashed out ). Meat filling is traditional but can be mushrooms or other kind of filling .
Labas, ladies, labas! Really really liked this episode. What did I learn? When in Lithuania, visit Vilnius. Try Saltibarsciai. Attend celebrational coronation of King Mindaugas. Visit Belmontas and enjoy Cepelinai with bacon beer and fried cheesy bread. Awesome! Until next time... Viso! 👋😀
I keep forgetting to say that I love the new intro you have. It's so colourful and gives us glimpses of the food you have been eating, the people you have been seeing and the places. Also, I enjoyed watching the video. Am a bit envious that I will never get to eat the fried cheesy bread, the peas with bacon and the zepellins (did I spell that right). That colourful bee was amazing and yes the scenery does bring to mind Canada. Can't wait to see what you have to show us next.
Labai Skanu Cepilinai ... think it is a potato dumpling with meat inside, we have a version here made of yam with meat inside (but deep fried instead of boiled). Chickpeas are called dhal in Malaysia, we have dhal curry (not spicy really) with roti/ naan bread. Lithuania looks so beautiful, ... Cheers to Lietuva 👍😁
Bull crap. We always had lots of bears. Maybe recently they diminished but traditionally we had loads of them - Maybe under Communism it was so rough they killed & ate them. I hope they're alright. We adore bears.
There is a hiking trail trough the forest (that also passes a hillfort hill [pro piliakalnį]) here: www.pavilniai-verkiai.lt/vienas-pazintinis-objektas/
Not sure whats up with these cepelinai but its missing probably most important ingridient. You need sour cream on top next to bacon. The other terible suggestion Lithuanian girl gives here (she is clearly never made cepelinai herself otherwise she would know) after drain potato starch you have to let that liquid stay in a bowl so all the starch sink to the bottom. throw liquid away from the top and all solid starch left on the bottom you PUT BACK. Because that starch is the only blending material which holds whole thing during cooking together. Its so important especially if you talking about british potatoes which does not contain enough potato starch in them. If thats the case sometimes you have to add additional potato starch bought seperately.
*woke up this morning....saw the video thumbnail....almost ate my phone... looks so yummy* 😋 *hey just s a side question, have you all seen Dj mexicution in the comments???... its been ages since i last saw him in the comments or did he change his YT name :/* *ohwell* #cheerstofreedom
Thanks, Peter! You should come to eastern europe one day, you're so missing out hahaha! I have seen him a while back actually! I think he is still under the same name though haha
*Oh good good i'll look out for him to ring the notification bell next time :D .. also ... if what i've known to be true to me .... is true in time...then i'll be right next door (^_^)* #Latvia
Good morning ladies...Another great video...love it....will keep follow your Lithuania journey....btw I just came back from Bangkok last night...tired journey but it was fun....😁😁 about the video.... the peas probably same as our KACANG PUTIH...
I'm here now and loving all the Lithuanian cuisine
Amazing!!! Message us if you need any recommendations!
I love the way she said Cepileni
16:45 The cepelinai after the draining you put starch in it so it does have starch, otherwise it wouldn't hold the shape well.
Wowww Lithuania is amaaaaaazing!
Glad to hear you think that way! 😍
The dynamics between you two are heartwarming to see. Being in your home countries has really brought out the best in you both!
I wish to go in Lithuania some day Inshaallah.... amazing country ....
The peas are just yellow peas, chickpeas are called avinzirniai in lithuanian. In UK sometimes u can buy split peas to make currys or dals with :)

Those were bad cepelinai. Too much potato and too little meat inside. Home made have way more meat (or other filling).
Yh wasn't enough meat
So many wrong information in the video...
You need sour cream with the cepelinai!!
