I remember watching (and taping) this when it was on. I must have been about 15 at the time. I'm 51 now. Holy fuck! The singer always reminded me of Rod Stewart; not his voices, just his poses, the look and the way he struts around the stage.
DEFINITLY ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED ROCK GROUPS IN MUSIC HISTORY...ASSUMING MAYBE HUNDREDS OF GR8 ROCK GROUPS IN THEIR PERIOD...THEY WERE A LIL BIT UNLUCKY I THINK :-)
These boys came to play (Wallsend,Newcastle upon Tyne) at a church where we had a mint rock disco every friday. It was 1981/2 and they came back a few weeks later to play again as they were so well received. (and they got to take their pick of our chicks, lol) great times!!
Loved this band. Met them and got pissed together in Nottingham when they were on tour supporting Magnum. It was a great day - they loved the fact my nickname was "Jock" - a Scotsman living in Nottingham!!!!
increible!! sigo sin creer lo q estoy viendo heavy pettin d las pocas bandas q atesore cuando era un adolescente, aca en mexico eramos rockers d corazon (1985)
I would've loved to see these guys live back in the 80s. I don't remember how I came to know about them in the states, but after Def Leppard's High n Dry, HP's Lettin Loose was a constant on my turntable. Thanks for posting this! Great Band!!!
Good to see this again used to watch this show every week and it featured some great bands.Love the stadium like crowd roar at the beginning even though there's only about 30 kids in the crowd lol.I saw them supporting someone back in the 80 s they were a good outfit & I had their Love Times Love EP.
Agreed. The lead singer, Steven Hayman is the lead singer of the band at my church in Humble, TX. He told his life story to us today. Great guy, found God, and is the main reason we go to church. He still has the chops to belt out killer vocals.
Never quite got HP. Had all the ingredients and I live the enthusiasm and backing singing. But something missing for me. Maybe the songs are a little weak?
Saw Heavy Pettin' as a support band in London in the mid 80's...... they were supporting Kiss..... on the bill were another support band called..... Bon Jovi.... who nobody had heard of.
The 7" for Neat and 'Lettin' Loose' were absolutely BRILLIANT. Too bad they could not sustain that high level of songwriting and consequently nosedived.
Now we're talking - saw this at the time and loved it - bought the second album shortly after and there's some great tracks on it - what happened to music??
Such a poor man's Def Leppard but exudes a lot of charm and revives fond memories from those times. They were a decent band and I wore their t-shirt proudly too.
Good band but when they tried for Britain's entry to Eurovision with the dreadful "Romeo" it killed them stone dead. A shame. The first 2 albums were very good.
The BBC did a great job of recording a session for the Tommy Vance Rock Show and it was fantastic. ‘Roll the dice,’love times love and ‘hell is beautiful. Then Queens Brian May produced the Album and ruined them. The Vocals sounded like a Chipmunk..
I'm sure this was a great band from over seas u.k.. but the music seems not to have any real direction.I personally heard about 4 different songs going at once in the song being played. In the states bands like this are called ONE HIT WONDERS.

Used to go and watch them at all the universitys, brilliant memories, great band should have been big.

Slipped through the cracks I think their ability to make exciting new music couldn't come close to lettin' loose.....

Danny Brew yeah me too it was April 1985
@@delandreese Yeah, a great year Reese, hope your still rocking?
Super! Heavy Pettin!!! God bless"

Saw them dozens of times in the early 80's. Vastly under rated even when they went whacko with "Romeo". Gary Moat and Punky were superb musicians.
Hey, the guy in the red used to teach me english back in school!
Excelente banda HEAVY PETTIN 💪💪💪💪👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Saw Heavy Pettin' as a support band in London in the mid 80's......

Bon Jovi.... who nobody had heard of.
incorrect ,,they backed up kiss on the lick it up tour with helix....bonjovi were on the 84 animalize tour
they're better than both those bands, lol!! True!
bri1968
They WERE on the same bill as Kiss and Bonjovi. Unmasked tour.
The 7" for Neat and 'Lettin' Loose' were absolutely BRILLIANT. Too bad they could not sustain that high level of songwriting and consequently nosedived.
Still regularly play first album.
I remember this set on tv thought they sounded like leppard but better vocals made me by the album
The singer goes to my church now
Now we're talking - saw this at the time and loved it - bought the second album shortly after and there's some great tracks on it - what happened to music??
thnx realy! Great band!
ROCKS!
Kiana Shotgun =)
love this band
Still love these guys. This is how DL should have sounded.
shit...it sounds like they learned how to play from listening to the first 2 Leppard albums.
grandiosos..!!!
🏴👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻🤟🏻💪🏻👏🏻👏🏻🏴
On top form on this
They should have toured America with Def Leppard on their Pyromania tour in 1983.
shudda been huge.....great live performance

I prefer HP to DL.
@@waynemorgan7045
Same here. Love 'On Through The Night', 'High 'N' Dry' and 'Pyromania' was o.k. No interest in anything Leppard released after that.
00:00 Rock Ain't Dead
03:54 Sole Survivor
07:44 Love Times Love
class live band
♠ ♥ ♥
Fucking AWESOME!!!
DO YOU HAVE VIDEO RARO THE BAND: PLASMATICS E ICON
Good band but when they tried for Britain's entry to Eurovision with the dreadful "Romeo" it killed them stone dead. A shame. The first 2 albums were very good.
Does anyone know where they got their name from, I keep thinking it’s the UFO album no heavy pettin
Heavy Pettin', thought they were the next big thing then crashed and burned!
@mirrorr2 You better become like that!
Sue and Jan?
name of the song?
Hairy Pudding ?
I was overjoyed to see ect back in 85, but this lightweight crap is embarrassing
@NeilThompson30 The Rock Brigade will happen...
Who cares - this is a great band - and this is the United Kingdom - get used to it.
Omfg.....this is HORRIBLE .
pish.poser rock.
tight band but atrocious singer
Totally agree!
Great hair but every cliche in the book, absolutely crap!
it was 1985 - nothing was a cliche yet.
