Rose, since you introduced me to Gochujang, I am forever in your debt! I love it and add it to literally everything, even tomato soup. Lots of love from a girl who's Polish by birth and blood, British by choice and Asian in the kitchen 😂😉
Love all three recipes! You can use plain pumpkin puree, if the sweet potato variety isn't available. I've made these patties in the fall adding chili spices...no one complained....
the patties are my favorite because you can add so many different flavors and other vegetables and completely change them into a different food. I used to make lots and lots of extra and I didn't use canned anything I always made my stuff from scratch because I bought 50 pound bags of everything because I cooked for so many others. but I'd always make extra and put in the freezer for those days where you just want to heat something up and eat and they reheat in a pan fairly well I don't like things microwave they taste like microwaved food and they don't crisp back up so I'd let them saw a tiny bit or I just got lazy put them back in the pan with the cover and then lift it. And let them crisp up. the great thing is is you can make chutneys if you put a little cumin in them. You can use an Asian Sauce if you put vegetables that fit that more like a little bit of ground ginger garlic stepped up a bit and green onion. there's just so many possibilities and then just dipping them in sauce like little nuggets works well. It's a snack you can eat and you don't feel like you're just eating fried junk food. thanks for reminding me!
I'm a lazy vegan too and for puree of sweet potato i just throw a sweet potato in the airfryer. If need be just wash and dry it. Don't peel! Just throw it in whole. 220 degrees celcius for about 25 minutes, when the peel wrinkles its done. Let it cool, the peel just falls off when cutting it up. Mash with fork or lazy way throw it in the blender and done is the puree.
Love this chickpea/sweet potato mashup! I am making it tonight. Simple and easy and I have all the ingredients at home already. Sometimes there are a lot of spices in your videos I don't have as I am new to vegan eating and very European American. I am just learning about these spices. Maybe you could do a video on common Korean spices and what foods to pair them with. It is a little scarey for me to try new spices but some cooking video would be helpful. I love how you make it seem easy😊
With all of those garbanzos, you could say that this video is a "chick" flick! 😉 Would liquid aminos be a good alternative to soy sauce for people with soy allergies?
wondering if you have a noodle playlist, as only noodle dishes from sweet to savory, literally I'm watching all your vids which are excellent content. Thank you for making these available to the world. Now I need a savory cooked noodle that's not soup
Watching your videos makes me want to eat all my food with chopsticks. Oh, I will need you to come over and teach me to actually use them (and while you're here, could you whip me up some of these delicious recipes??) ;)
Enjoy your videos, you really helped me stay a vegan with all your delicious recipes, so thank you. And enjoy you on IG but I live in US so I cannot enjoy the Cafe.
I really enjoyed how you displayed the Thrive Market price and MSRP price showing how much you save per item. 😁 #imabrokevegan Thank you for your videos, loving them and you!!
I want to make all these! Also, I hate baking sweet potatoes, but if I feel up to it, I "bake" a bunch at once in the slow cooker while I'm at work that way I've got left over for a few days/ I just put it in the freezer for later.
As of late, I've been making veggie burgers using black bean & onion patties that I made up myself using a recipe that I found online, after a while it becomes easier because you can make if off your head without needing the recipe. As with the chickpeas, they do say to mash the beans up with a fork but I just use the hand held blending stick that we have to blend the beans up before adding them to the mixture, they do taste & smell delicious to the point that they taste like the beef burgers & have more satiety as far as appetite goes, there is 33 grams of protein in a can of the black beans that I used which makes between 4 - 6 large patties. I would like to try Yovana Mendozas oat flour bean patty recipe which I will likely try when I move out of my parents place, hopefully by Xmas. As far as the sweet potato goes, it isn't a big deal for me to zap them in a microwave oven then to stick them in a food processor to blend them up,maybe just stick them in with the chick peas, etc altogether. I have to look into seitan recipes as well because I'm looking to make seitan sausages & possibly a seitan meatloaf or something, perhaps seitan steaks, whatever the case, I will need to start a big collection of herbs & spices because I have recipes for seitan sausages which cal for a lot of them !!!! I will also need to look into the tofu recipes & into making tofu which is a good vegan substitute for that non vegan chicken thing that I never get onto !!!!
Did you use a food processor to chop the onion in the second recipe? And are the chickpeas right from the can or did you cook or soak them before smashing them?
Guessing it's store bought (I might be wrong). I use one by the brand Maggi's that is pretty good. You can find it in most grocery stores in the Asian food section.
I was so stoked to see a Canadian do a video with Thrive Market, I was getting ready to do an order. But nope. They don’t ship to Canada. So disappointed 😭
Thanks for all these lazy ideas! I love cooking but summer heat makes it unbearable. Do you have a video about cheap dinner party ideas? I'm having some old (nonvegan) coworkers over and I'd love to give them something easy that doesn't scream vegan. Thanks!
OOPS I got things mixed up! Sweet potato puree at Thrive costs $2.29 and MSRP is $3.09. and Smoked Paprika on Thrive costs $4.79 and MSRP is $6.99...

Yas! Sweet potato and chickpea is literally what I put in my veggie rolls (aka "sausage rolls")
Love using sweet potato and never thought to buy it in the can! So easy for days when it's too hot to heat up the oven!
It looks so cool, creative and good!!!
All the music you incorporate through the video is lovely and enjoyable.
Ahhh the chickpea sweet potato patties and sushi rolls look glorious! I’d eat them anytime of the day!
When cutting your sushi roll, start in the middle and work your way out. I find it much easier.
These will be my meals this week! So quick and simple. Yum!

I think you have an error with the pricing on the sweet potato purée. You list the thrive price 80¢ higher than msrp and show a savings.
Same thing with the Nori sheets...

You could microwave cook them.

I hope Thrive Market becomes available in Canada soon!

What are the measurements for the chickpea-sweet potato patties? One can of chickpeas to one cup of sweet potato?
Did you use a food processor to chop the onion in the second recipe? And are the chickpeas right from the can or did you cook or soak them before smashing them?
Please can you share leftover veggies for salad or dishes.....by the way love this video.....and you look so beautiful...
Love the cool jazz!
Just curious what sweet chili sauce you use? Thanks!!

I get packs of nori that are the same size for $2 at Walmart. I feel like a lot of these things would be cheaper there honestly.

Thanks so much! Your content makes being a vegan so easy! Who needs animal products?!
Hey thanks for soy free vegan recipes! Luckily I CAN tolerate chickpea as my few Legumes (can do lentil and thats it).
Do you think I could add oats instead of flower to the patties?
Isabela Dias I think so! Maybe blend them up to make oat flour?
I`ll try it!!!
I wish thrive market would ship to Canada 😢
Do you have any ramen kinda recipes that aren’t spicy? Heh
I tried Thrive Market but it took forever to be delivered. I guess Amazon has me spoiled. If they ever figure out the delivery piece, I’m there.
Omg u go girl
omg ilysm 💖💖
I was so stoked to see a Canadian do a video with Thrive Market, I was getting ready to do an order. But nope. They don’t ship to Canada. So disappointed 😭
Rachel S bah so sorry 😢😔 I know it sucks but they say they are working on getting shipment for Canada
Do you cook the chickpeas before you mash?
Canned vegetables are cooked and ready to eat. Raw or dry chickpeas will need to be cooked, but not canned ones :3
themoonkitty I feel stupid that I did not know this!
Wait... don't you live in Canada? Thrive market doesn't ship to Canada just yet no?
Thanks for all these lazy ideas! I love cooking but summer heat makes it unbearable.
Do you have a video about cheap dinner party ideas? I'm having some old (nonvegan) coworkers over and I'd love to give them something easy that doesn't scream vegan. Thanks!
Cutting the sushi with a serrated knife might cut the pieces easier! :)
