@@JeLifeCoach Yeah, no objections against the new 8-speed N DCT. Great transmission. I think there is no market for manual hot SUV so I don't miss the i30 N manual here, although I liked it very much there.
@@Doupik thanks for replying and taking time to share yiur experience. I’m contemplating selling my veloster n for the Kona N. The veloster N is the most fun car I’ve ever had but the extra space of the Kona N would be nice for my family.
Very cool! Test drove the Kona N-Line and that was already fun. We have to wait until November for the full Kona N to arrive here in the US. Cannot wait!
All DCT standards(0->100km/h) : veloster N or i30 N 5.6, kona N 5.5, Elantra N 5.3 seconds released by Hyundai officially in S.Korea among Elantra N press driving events in recently 😀🥰😍🤩
I have a puma ST on order and thinking about trading it straight in for one of these as soon as it turns up, been driving fiesta ST's for the last 5 years so fancy a change from the ford brand.
So they are stopping hot hatches and sporty coupé's in Europe because of co2 emissions and restrictions and beyond that the are launching sporty suv 's... Can someone indicates me where is the exit please?
I like the use of black but they should keep the Hyundai logo on the grill chrome or at least a contrasting colour, coz as it is you can't even see what car it is
True they should scrap the top lights eyebrow/eyes the lower lights should of been up top for a more aggressive look to save money the Veloster lights could of been used. Why is the warranty so low and not at 10/100K?
Just sold my i30N after 3yrs... was a good, enjoyable car. Just dont get the whole sporty cross-over thing. Still, nice to see Ron Weasley back in work again! 😃
Looks like a good machine. The Puma is a dreadful looking thing especially from the front and the VW Audi offerings all look the same and are so damn boring. There's something about VAG stuff that bores me rigid these days sadly. The Kona is surely a better offering than a T-Roc R especially with a 5 year warranty and is miles more fun.
Great looking car. I'm just not a fan of that touch screen sticking up from the top of the dash. I prefer them integrated into the dash. I don't know why but it just feels like a cheap add-on to me when I see it in that configuration. I really hope car makers start putting them back into the dash.
I agree, and the fact that its situated higher than the speedometer looks really out of proportion. I think the German's does it better in a classy way of dash design.
Bro grab yourself a type R brother, just grabbed mine, better handling, quicker, hella spacious, and come on… the styling is insanely beautiful and don’t forget about the spacious interior, besides that the infotainment is laughable 🤣 can’t wait for a comparison between the two
Nowadays awd isn't as useful as it used to be with traction control and slip diffs unless you live in am area that there's snow on the ground for months I don't see why you should feel obligated to pay the extra money for awd
It’s a crossover rather than a full SUV, plus the format works great with the FWD setup and LSD (which is excellent - recently sold my I30N but had that 3 years). Also no 4WD system keeps the weight and the cost down …

Different cars for different buyers though - Type R is a much closer comparison to the I30N. They are amazing machines and Type R definitely would have the edge performance-wise, however the styling is not to everyone’s taste and you won’t find another car near this price point with a better sounding stock exhaust than an N car … plus N’s are still way less common to see on the road than pretty much all main competitors which I think is a real plus factor
I like this reviewer. Not seen him before. Decent commentary and review.
Agree
Please Hyundai! You are hurting the competition! Please don't kill them!
Hyundai is on fire
Drove it last week on Slovakia Ring. Marvellous car. As fast and as fun on the track as the i30 N.
And the looks are 🔥
How’s the DCT in manual mode? Are shifts quick?

The Kona was faster than the veloster N and i30 N ? How 😵💫
It's definitely an interesting proposition for the segment, the price gives even a more competitive alternative.
I have a regular Kona, great car. I want this one now !
I have a puma ST on order and thinking about trading it straight in for one of these as soon as it turns up, been driving fiesta ST's for the last 5 years so fancy a change from the ford brand.
Way more interesting than any of its rivals and by the sounds of it more of a hoot to drive aswell, brilliant car
My daily, love this car!
think you are wrong about it being available in diesel 0:06 (regular kona i mean....not the N)
Yeah, I might be upgrading from my 2020 Elantra GT N-Line to this. Hopefully also in white.
Does it have 360° cameras for when parking?
Great looking car,proper pocket rocket,great review.👍🏻

Can you use overboost while launching the car?
Front wheel drive?

Anyone notice has much different the seats are vs an i30 or Veloster?
Far too many light clusters, and I think that will age the design really quickly.

This model coming to the UK
Getting one on the 22nd ,can’t wait 😁
Have to say though the pirelli tyres are awful , they are like blocks of ice .when they are cold they slide on tarmac on full lock .
One of the best I've seen

No mention of fuel consumption 34 mph on a cruise and far less around town, an interesting car but not cheap to run.
When did Ron Wesley get into automotive journalism?
This was a very dull presentation of an interesting SUV proposition.
Lot more interesting than the other cars in the segment..but at 35k would rather have the i30N..love a hot hatch..bring back the Zafira VXR..🥳
Albert Biermann 😎

Am I the only one watching this and thinking "sonic blue color!?!?"
Yep... it sure looks white to me!
Hey Hyundai, you forgot to include a power lift hatch.
Remember - this car has to appeal to those who want to hoon, and those (wife) who want to shop.
Is your wife too weak to reach and pull down on that light and tiny hatch?
How much US ?
30k stock
34k full loaded 😋
Not bad at all well done.
I’m assuming you didn’t mention the type R because it’s not up there yet …?? 🤷♂️

@@Lotus.F mercy does the same.. floating screen.. even bmw too.. except for the porsche.. 🤔
Failed to mention the cupra formentor which I’d rather have, better looking and 300bhp
And AWD too.
So do I buy one of these and save £25k over a Macan? 🤷♂️

Maybe if you're 12 years old and into hot wheels
No AWD = no sale
For a chap that just finished secondary school and is taking exams, James does a nice job! :-) Hogwarts is doing something right.
Two hundred and whistle six BHP
Good car
I would still pick the i30 over it because of the manual gearbox, but it looks like a great car
What kind of review is this? Where are the back seats, trunk, rest of the interior? Try doing less yapping and sitting driving the car next time.
SUV FWD = POINTLESS
Think of it as just a slightly taller hot hatch then.
I think perhaps he should've said "cross-over"...
