Your passion for panoramas is contagious. Now I'm shopping for nodal sliders online 😅 i have an s5ii with a multi-shot high res mode and there is something addicting about getting massively detailed photos

Absolutely the best run through of how and why to use a nodal slider . Definitely going to shop for some gear before my next trip . Excellent teacher and those "students" were fortunate to get the lesson ( though they didn't seemed too engaged , their loss ) .

Thanks for the cooment! Good luck on your panorama journeys! In their defence...it was freezing outside and we were standing on sea ice 😊

Jonas, I just found your UA-cam channel today and I’m really enjoying watching your videos. I noticed a card you held up at 1:51 of this video which showed the 3:1 aspect ratio and wanted to know if those are commercially available? It looks like a great tool to “visualize” a potential image in a scene. Thanks again for sharing your experience. Safe travels. Steve

Thanks Jonás - awesome educator, you certainly encouraged me to try more panos. I was aware of the nodal slider but have never heard it explained as well as you did. I may also need to hire you for spider alarm services. 😉

Your assertion that panoramas should be very wide and narrow is misleading. I have shot panoramas of tall waterfalls with a portrait format when I did not have a wide enough angle lens. Also a square format panorama form a grid of 9 images. I find very wide and narrow panoramas rather unpleasant to look at.
Using the Hugin program, it's simple to produce multi-row panoramas and make very high resolution images.

@@bernym4047 hello, I don’t think it is misleading at all. A panorama is a horizontal picture giving a wide view of a landscape or other scene. A panorama doesn’t have to be multiple images stitched together. A vertical “panorama” is called a vertorama (but not many use that terminology). A lot of people call all stitched images panoramas, but technically that isn’t correct. Anyway, that’s just the definitions…
And I also do a lot of high resolution images the way you describe, or wider than my widest lens, it’s great. But that doesn’t make it panos… cheers

@@JonasPaurellUnscripted I'm grateful for your mention of 'vertorama'. Not a word I've encountered previously.
