Back when I studied life drawing, forms disappearing was always my problem. I still don't know how to fix this. I'm thinking, either I have a poor eyesight or the light on a subject was too hard. I would really like someone's opinion on this. Back then my instructors tried explaining how to fix my drawings but my English was very bad. I have no idea what they said.
You need to essentially be able to image the entire surface of the form: the visual information or optical info you see is never complete or ideal. Drawing from observation in this way is also drawing from imagination: or more drawing what you know. Drawing what you see isn’t enough, especially since what you see is limited by what you know.
Thank you so much for the short videos! It is nice to have this kind of "correcting" episodes, because I can see how I should do and how I shouldn't.
