Nice work. I swapped my Gemimi 105M mainly to pex too. I used the crimp rings mainly because the fittings are cheap and I already had the crimper. I also took out my hot water tank but it disappointed my wife so I have been working to get it back in the system. Unfortunately I also replaced the diesel with an outboard so I lost engine cooling as a source of heat for the tank. This summer's experiment will be a 1000 watt ac element run off the inverter when the batteries are topped by the solar array. I use full size rainfresh house filters for the water both incoming from the dock to the tanks and another past the pump which while large are far less expensive than the marine equivalent.
You have a boat with hot water and want to eliminate it? Come on, just add or repair but dont eliminate... Wife and Baby will appreciate a warm shower...
Yeah I think you are right. Going to add a small point of use heater for the head faucet/shower.

Look into 4 12v lithium house batteries and some solar to keep them charged. Or 4 6v trojan batteries for the house.
Those are $1000 a pop.
@@SOLDOZER not anymore.
@@vettepicking At least $800
What about getting water from the dock into the system
Just be careful putting the batteries that close to the water system. A leak could create extra problems...
A battery next to propane or propane excessories in an enclosure not smart.
lead acid batteries should be in a plastic container anyways.
surprised the area was sanded and painted to look candy clean
Ive got a Flojet pump that needs to be replaced.
The pressure switch is not easily serviced or even adjustable. The pump generates soo much psi it only stops when it deadheads, and then the amps climb and it gets wicked hot. It shoots at least 15' out of the shower nozzle 😂
Need to do the same to mine. Unsure if I will use PEX or that expensive rubber hose.
IME, if someone so much as heats up a can of soup, they'll be wanting hot water to wash their spoon. :)
Nice, just started the same project yesterday. I am using the aqualock products but I'll have to check out whale
great job with the water man. But if I were you I would think twice about putting the batteries in that spot. On film it looks really low in the boat and you want your batteries as high as possible in case of flooding. Few weeks back I watched 'Sailing Zingaro' and his batteries were fried before the bilge pump even activated. Good luck!
Thanks! Yeah that would suck. That spot is actually quite a bit higher than the current battery location.
:)
Can you link to the pex connectors you got, please?
The quick connect fittings are linked in the description. Those only work with the 15mm whale tubing. Good luck!
@@SailBros Thanks Sorry I didn't see the expanded description.
