Funny how Jason picks and chooses when he wants to talk like he’s a straight up black dude from the hood and then like a typical LA white dude. Disingenuous and fake as hell. Be yourself dude. Don’t act different ways depending on who you’re around.

I feel like there's a lot of code switching here. I see where you're coming from by feeling Jason is coming off as fake, however, I feel like you can be both calm when sharing a message and rowdy and loud when sharing a message. It's context-dependent.

PierceTheMadz Yes, that’s true to an extent. But I wasn’t necessarily saying that just because of this interview. Just seeing him over the years he’s almost a different person sometimes. Search Letlive interview on UA-cam and see some older interviews too. Sometimes he’s almost like a completely different person. Then a couple days later he changes again depending on who he’s around

closinginonclosure ahhhh I see now! It’s kind of feeling like a Becky/Buckwild situation (if you’re familiar with the Flavor of Love series). I thought that too when I watched interviews during the later letlive(RIP) days. Hm I can’t say much about it since I don’t know Jason as a person - but based on the times I have met and talked with him, he seems like a cool down-to-earth person (only speculation/thinking “out loud” here). Idk, it is kind of fucked how there’s a limiting decorum behind interviews (which is why I mentioned code-switching).

PierceTheMadz I definitely agree. I’ve met him a few times too and he’s always been super humble and friendly. I met him at Warped Tour when he was with Letlive and saw him again just a few months ago on tour with The Used. I talked to him for probably 30 minutes and he’s definitely a good dude. But even in the times I personally met him, he acted slightly different. Maybe it’s not intentional and I’m reading too much into it. The way he speaks definitely changes but I guess it doesn’t necessarily mean he isn’t being genuine. Everybody has moods and different sides to themselves and maybe his just comes out more in the way he talks depending on his mood and what he’s talking about. Regardless, I’m a fan of him as a musician and I don’t dislike the guy. It just stands out to me that he speaks so differently at times.

closinginonclosure I hear you friend! I’m also sensitive to how people talk in certain situations. You bring up excellent POVs, and for that I want to thank you for this convo :)
