Introduction to the Lives of the Saints - St. Justin Popović

St. Justin Popović gives the quintessential teaching on the Saints and the meaning of their Lives for us today. He writes, "The Lives of the Saints are in fact the life of the Godman Christ, which is poured out into His followers and is experienced by them in His Church." Everything good and holy in the Saints finds its beginning, middle, and end in Christ. St. Justin also points out that the Lives of the Saints are "applied dogmatics" and are nothing less than the continuation of the Acts of the Apostles. And at a basic, pastoral level, "If you are suffering for your faith in Christ, the Lives of the Saints will console you and encourage you and make you bold and give you wings, and your torments will be changed into joy."

I have never had such wholesome food as I have found on this channel. It's like the fast food of patristic tidbits. Just when I found someone who speaks to my soul, someone else comes along. I'm a 48yo Protestant churched all my life (Baptist, Pentecostal, currently Salvation Army) also a recovering substance abuser, my passion is truth whatever the cost. 2 years I've been interested in Reformation & Orthodoxy (Reformed off the table, non-adherance, irreconcilable), I am seeking the narrow way and know the Lord in His mercy has led this far to Orthodoxy. I love Fr Seraphim Rose however I'm Australian so our country's differ historically. I'm of German decent being a 1st generation Australian. Is there a church father/Saint that you know of that would benefit my path? At least while I seek a church, there's about 20 to choose from in my city 🤯 (Adelaide SA is not called 'the city of churches' for fun) Any advise most welcome, and thank you for your advise so far, your channel has helped me way more than I can say.
