If people paid attention to the history of marriage they'd realize how much of a "business" deal it has always been. It's easy for people to confuse love with a marriage contract because it's such an accepted and glamorized thing...despite the large percentage of people getting divorced. Paul Simon actually wrote something similar in one of his songs noting that the contract sometimes lasts longer than the feeling. Saint Jhn is just being honest which is difficult for most people. It should be noted that not all business deals are bad, though. There is, also, more than one way to show your commitment to someone. I'm glad he threw the "I'm open minded" in there because some contracts ARE better than others. Think about what a sweet deal Tiger Wood's wife got in regards to being let out of the contract with 8 million dollars or more. Granted....I'd argue that Tiger was (and still is) grossly over paid for knocking a little ball around. I guess it's only fair his wife gets paid outrageously well for knocking Tiger's balls around...metaphorically speaking. And you can bet the lawyers got paid ridiculously well, too. Kind of a stupid world we live in?
You onto something. Religion was a way to bind them but throughout history you see people getting married for the shits and giggles, keep the bloodline going or for power. Today people get married for tax reasons, citizenship, or to just keep a person with you. I never had this POV before. So i see where this is all going most definitely
Modern world has made marriage into contract. Marriage isn’t suppose to be a business it’s about unity like the Bible says you guys become one. If people can get married without the contract and just a ceremony like old times then maybe we would see more successful marriages. I agree tho about it being a business that’s just how it is now and it’s messed up
It's a ink on paper extended by much more obstacles upon obstacles stress my bother keep the paper blank. I look forward to having one for a lifetime and I don't back track or step out of bounds. Good idea for a blessed marriage. Bucket list. 😏🤭✌🏻😎
Inspirational words on marriage.i feel the same about god and the bible it’s someone else’s idea we all followed but I have my own beliefs peace love and light
Men don't have to get married, though. I tend to agree with you that men are sort of getting a raw deal but the legal part of the contract is what keeps some people honest. Also, many men think of it as a purchase. Long term prostitution? For some that's all it is....until it isn't, anymore. To each their own. Ya know...men want sex and women want security. Men want sex more than anything and it's sort of nature giving the raw deal to start with. We are whipped right out the gate. Women get child birth and periods. At some point we just have to make the best of things.
“Emotion’s a bad investment. Unless you can sing.”
This why his music so good cause he thinks outside the box we need more intellectuals in the music industry
Everytime this man speaks on something I'm inspired. He articulates my exact thoughts or opinions

It benefits men in that wives are just glorified maids
