About Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan Season 4: The fourth and final season finds Jack Ryan on his most dangerous mission yet. dang. Michael Peña was the goofy sidekick in the Ant Man movies, an astronaut in The Martian, and now Ding Chavez. Dude got chops.
Nah, he's still a goofball. I laugh at his attempts at being intimidating. Guy was a terrible casting.
I just saw him last Tuesday, Aug 29, playing my the star character in the preview of the movie "A Million Million Away" about my friend and NASA astronaut, José Hernández.
You should see him as kiki in narcos
His best role to me was the movie he did with Jake Gyllenhall

Post “Clear and Present Danger”, I always wondered how and when Domingo Chavez would appear in the revised version of Jack Ryan. He came back as a hard as nails, no nonsense, cold mean SOB! Brilliantly played by the stellar Michael Peña!

As a book it’s brilliant as you find how John Kelly becomes John Clark, you meet Jack Ryan’s father and a young Jack Ryan. Michael B Jordan was a great choice to play Kelly/Clark but the writers did a poor job of adapting the novel.
@@willienelsongonzalez4609 When i was a kid we were stationed at ft ord callifornia. at the time the base unit was the 7th infantry division. I think i loved clear and present danger so much because one of the early scenes was when they recruited chavez from his platoon. ding was in the 7th lid. there was something about that early clancy writing that was amazing. for some reason anything after 'the sum of all fears' was inferior.

4/10/2024 Michael Peña is such a multitalented actor. He can make you laugh and cry. I loved his performance in the movie “Shooter” and wished for a sequel. I hope he gets the recognition he so truly deserves
I am a big fan of Tom Clancy's books, I have and read the majority of them and this guy is the perfect impersonation of Ding Chavez.

Big Disagree. Raymond Cruz played him much better. All of the things Chavez did.. the military background, the rainbow training, the ops with Clark.. you think fat michael pena is the best portrayal of Ding Chavez? youre nuts.

Michael Peña crushed it. I heard there is going to be a spin-off series which is great. Michael has been the guy setting up the ball for other people to spike for a long while it looks like it’s finally his time and it’s going to be a ride.

Maybe someone should pick up the slack and continue with this fine series,it deserves more than 5 seasons
Definitely I was thinking prime could continue it with movies instead of seasons because I don’t know if anyone would pick it up but there’s enough story in place I think Amazon prime could pull off multiple movies perfectly

Ding Chavez is team leader of Rainbow 6 (before Siege retcon). He is both in viedogames (like Raven Shield and Lockdown) and original book.
Michael Peña is a fine actor. For me one memorable line was in The Shooter where he was being tortured, Mark Wahlberg saved him, and after the situation was explained to the still tied up Michael Peña, he said 'I'll take his legs'
All the actors here are super! The Jack Ryan series perfecto!! and Michael Pena THE BEST!
Everytime I heard name Domingo I pictured Peña's face even before I saw him for the first time. Perfect casting.

I remember reading Tom Clancy's novels back in university several years ago and whenever I got to the parts with Ding Chavez, I would usually imagine the character to be played by Michael Pena.

@@carbonite1983 it'll never happen. At least not one that's truly faithful to the novels. I don't think it could be a movie anyway. They'd need an HBO series or something to give it the proper detail and content.
Plus, To do it justice they'd need operator consultants from Tier 1 teams like DevGru, CAG, and SAS, because that's Rainbow. I don't know how faithfully they'd be able to do that, ya know?

It would be sick to have a series, with the first season dedicated to character intros. Each member getting their own episode and being recruited to really dig into what Rainbow is.
I much prefer him as a badass to when they make him a comedy relief.

Chavez is a really good character. Somehow however we lost the greatest most awesome character in all of literature: John Clark. That he began as John Kelly and was reborn- literally born again when he surfaced from drowning - as John Clark makes for a character unlike any other. Maybe some day they will make Without Remorse, and if they do it right then the world will see... Snake.
They did Without Remorse but it was terrible and it was co written by Taylor Sheridan who has written great things the last several years!

Agreed. Feel like they focused too much on the cartel aspect. I wanted there to be some focus on terrorist side of the convergence. The fusion of a drug cartel with a terrorist organization is scary enough.
