This is all very well - but there is no reference to unit cost. In a war fighting situation it is no good having really sophisticated high-capability drones if there are too few of them. You can't have a lot if they cost an arm and a leg. This is a lesson coming out of Ukraine. Any future drone needs to be not only be technically capable but it has to be CHEAP and mass-produced.
These are both cheap and effective compared to other options to do long range precision strike on armored targets. A single Javelin costs way more than several of these and is much more effective. Totally new class of weapons. The Replicator program is designed to make them even more less expensive
All have the same problem. Too expensive and too few. Ukraine can probably destroy a dozen tanks with FPV drones for the price of a single switchblade.
The Ukrainians have shown a lot of ingenuity in producing cheap, effective weapons to fight Russia. We should give them access to the blueprints for many of our weapons and see how the Ukrainians can improve them.
We ought to let the Ukrainians look at some of our weapons and see how they can get them better suited for their environment. Maybe they would surprise us.
The switch blade 600 does have a longer range, which helps it target artillery better( artillery rarely shoots at max range because it wears out gun barrel due to using max charges and potentially reduces accuracy for non guided shells) it also just got chosen as one of several drones in replicator program.
The range and loiter time and larger payload as well as shaped charges make these a totally different class of weapon compared to the FPV ones. Both useful but for different missions and use cases. Totally different class of weapons.
Ukraine has also developed a water born drone that has taken out one third of the Russian fleet in the Black Sea. I wonder what they could do if they had more access to technology.
These expensive military weapons but not that effective in actual war is made to scare their adversary only 😂 imagine showing your potential enemy of a cute looking drones, you ain't gonna scare them but you can destroy their troops
The war machine goes on, and the rich get richer. Inexpensive FPV do the same thing for a fraction of the price. To say there isn't a use for these hi tech drones would be wrong as well, but probably not all day long.
Ironically, in the first wave of professions displaced by AI and robots: Kamikaze pilots. Didn't see that coming though in hindsight, perhaps I should have.
There's nothing special about the Switchblade compared to these other UAS systems... These are all great kamikaze drones but there's nothing to advanced or special in technologies shown by the drones from the video.. On the other hand DARPA is heavily involved in developing the AI and swarm technologies that would be incorporated in multople military drones on the market. Now that's the game changer that would change the battlefield forever.. Thousands upon thousands of cheap drones flying and communicating among themselves. Some are armed with the sensors to search and track targets, others armed with kinetic warheads ready to dive in SAMs, tanks, vehicles and men. All that with a minimal input from the human controller. This technology will completely change the battlefield as we know it today. It will be almost impossible to get into the formation and attack an enemy through the no men's land. Every men will be immidiately detected, every APC targeted, every IFV destroyed as soon as it comes inside the kill bubble.,. But if the development of the weapons has thought us anything than it is the fact that every new weapon is soon faced with the counter weapon, ready to even the playing field. We had the gun, we got the bullet proof vest. Than the artillery became so deadly and precise that any movement by the infantry was suicidal (WW1 comes to mind). Than the weapons developers came up with the tank that made the maneuver warfare possible again, as seen in the WW2. Then came the portable anti tank guided weapons (MANPADS) as seen in the Yom Kipur War, that once again limited the movement of the heavy armor. Then came the explosive active armor to counter MANPADS. The War in Ukraine brought us small drone warfare that gave soldiers unprecedanted recon and command&control. Once again military planers can't assemble large number of tanks to punch through the enemy's lines. Every massive gathering of troops and vehicles is instantly spotted by drones or satellites which ends up with a massive precision strike within minutes. The impact of HIMARS is incredible... So what's next? COunter UAS technology? Laser weapons on a large scale? Unimaginable electronic warfare capabilities? Who knows... The next big war will give us answers.
You miss the meaning of Kamikaze. It means humans inside sacrificing their live to guide the planes and torpedos, not drones guided by pilots at a distance.
Apparently, they suck because they are both more expensive while less capable than those Iranian drones. The US military is known to overpay for weapons, and in this case it's totally taken advantage of.
The mistake of this manufacturer that they never introduce it so much in Ukraine war, thats why it never go so far, and maybe its too expensive, quadcopter drone or kamikaze drone for only several hundred dollar , its also effective in survellance.
Seems to me that the Turks have more designs and that the Ukrainians have the most know-how. Pure battlefield knowledge. .... Bet they are working together. Good stock market buys.
All these drones are way too expensive. Ukraine is providing, cheap, inexpensive drones, built with commercial off the shelf tech, is the way to go. Ukraine is destroying multi-million dollar systems with cobbled together, sub $2000 USD drones.
bro you only showing bs nato drones where's all the drones russia destroying the abrams tanks at? what about irans drones?? mexicos?? this a bs channel im out...
These are cool drones. However the question is will the West be able to produce these in the 100.000s. Ukraine is producing 1.5 millión drone in this year and try to increase it to 2 million.

The switchblade is cheaper Than the shahed

This is overkill as usual. In Ukraine it’s just strapping a mortar/rpg shell to a POS dji quadcopter with a basic camera attached.
Ukraine has also developed a water born drone that has taken out one third of the Russian fleet in the Black Sea. I wonder what they could do if they had more access to technology.
It basically uses a javelin warhead
Ukraine’s modified drones are seems so versatile and accurate so far in this ongoing war against the Russian military invaders
Much more versatile and cheaper than these expensive drones.
These expensive military weapons but not that effective in actual war is made to scare their adversary only 😂 imagine showing your potential enemy of a cute looking drones, you ain't gonna scare them but you can destroy their troops
Yes its good for survellance, and attack target but its expensive. Unlike the quadcopter drone ,low prices and effective .
I LIKE THEM ALL. WOULD LIKE TO TRY FLYING THEM ALL. WARHEAD OPTIONAL FOR SURE.
US old drone stock could tighten up borders
The war machine goes on, and the rich get richer. Inexpensive FPV do the same thing for a fraction of the price. To say there isn't a use for these hi tech drones would be wrong as well, but probably not all day long.
Absolutely.....it USA great weapons
Ironically, in the first wave of professions displaced by AI and robots:
Kamikaze pilots.
Didn't see that coming though in hindsight, perhaps I should have.
Fightergun weapon of my heart
Wonder if they could install Switchblade vertical launch tubs on the M10 Booker to enhance infantry support?
Attributes: 50+ Km, 45 minutes on air, 2 kg explosives, capacity to transport and launch up to four small loitering ammunition
List of tradable manufacturing companies please !!
All these drones give new meaning to the term "disposable society".
"AI' says, your either with, or against.
Your choose, and suffer the consequences....
A small matter of historical fact. Actual Kamikaze aircraft had pilots in them.
Attach wings computer flat in middle too
Wings with propellers
Ukrainian FPV drones are cheap and much more better than switch blades lol
Put base weight in back
Price ?
Why don't they invent UAV Bombers that drop Cluster Bombs?
Put the base blocks
These are amazing but we know that sooner or later the bad guys will have them. I hope we have defenses for drone swarm attacks.
You are biased!
How come you talk about kamikaze drones and don't say anything about Shahed 136?
Switchblades are the industry leader. There no comparison.

😂ys and very expensive as well😂😂😂
the british one was best
Where is shahed drones they are battle proven
When talking about Kamikaze drones Shahed 136 is the first to mention but this ignorance website just humiliated itself by ignoring that!
Ты перечислил устаревшие виды вооружений, мог бы и внимательней рассмотреть эту тему
The Wizard and his flying lizards at it yet again.,til it gets muted.
They did not mention the Polish WarMate that Ukraine has been using or the Russian Lancet.
You miss the meaning of Kamikaze. It means humans inside sacrificing their live to guide the planes and torpedos, not drones guided by pilots at a distance.
That isn't even remotely true as to what kamikaze means
Obsolete all ready......
Put intelligence in front
Super 😂😂

Organized Swarms like a Las Vegas drone show are scary . How to defend against ? Mini-CIWS?Jamming?Chafe?Cluster mines.
Try faster drone technology and techniques
Another wonder weapon? This is getting old. And it never does change much.
These are Cadillac drones, cost vs kill is entirely too expensive on this end, Ukraine is the pro's
You can build your own drones cheaper and as well
Send y to germany to make sure they don't get used😅😅😅
STILL NOT PROVEN IN BATTLEFIELD
A paratroopers best friend!
Click bait nothing more
'Switchblade' drones, too expensive. Ukrainians can buy and modify 5 to 10 FPV drones for the cost of one 'Switchblade.'
The usual western echo chamber.
clickbait lame
😂 las super armas en el papel
thats why taiwan and the philippines and japan have million and millions of these drones. they even the playing field.
^Go Home Russia!
#PutinWarCrimial

The Yankees come too late and untested yet. Whereas Russian Zala Lancets are annihilating Abrams, Himars ,Bradleys, M117 etc in Ukraine .

click bait.
This is already Outdated
Again 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Tottaly waste..only one solution weapon just like planet desroyer ..
Russian, Chinese and Iranian drones are better, cheaper and more accurate AND missing in this video. Pure propaganda channel.
where in Palestine do you need them ???
Palestine doesn't exist. But Gaza does, unfortunately.
Minimal Cognitive burden, wtf does that mean, drones for dummies?
bro you only showing bs nato drones where's all the drones russia destroying the abrams tanks at? what about irans drones?? mexicos?? this a bs channel im out...
These were sent to Ukraine and have had little to no effect against the Russians
These are cool drones. However the question is will the West be able to produce these in the 100.000s. Ukraine is producing 1.5 millión drone in this year and try to increase it to 2 million.
