An agreement which is enforceable by law at the option of one or more of the parties thereto, but not at the option of the other or others ,is a voidable contract
mam but how can this contract be valid , since this would never be enforceable by law in the first place as the other party has used illegal means . so shouldn't it be just agreement becoz it could be never enforceable by law in first place
@@capreetiaggarwal in my book it is written that a contract becomes voidable in the following two cases 1. When a person promises to do something for another person for a consideration but the other person prevents him from performing, the contract becomes voidable at his option. (Sec 53) (i didn't understand at whose option) 2. When a party to a contract promises to perform an obligation within a specified time, any failure on his to perform his obligation within the fixed time makes the contract voidable at the option of the promise. (Sec 55 para 1) (i did not understand the whole point)

Such contracts remain valid til rescinded. They can be cancelled at the option of aggrieved party
how much is this "reasonable time"?
The term Reasonable has not been defined in Law.. it depends upon the facts and circumstances of the case
