I am glad to hear that you are getting better, go easy on yourself and don't apologize! My daughter has/ is going through this and I appreciate that you are sharing your story. She had/has rare type as well. I wish you all the best and again don't be hard on yourself, it doesn't make you less, it's not your fault. Give yourself a pat on the back. You are brave and a survivor.

Hi Kristen,
I live in South Africa. The sun is always shining here and there is always the risk of developing skin cancer if you have a light skin. I developed a growth on the lower eye lid of my right eye. I do not know if it is cancer or just a benign growth but I went on a high nutrition diet for about two months and the growth have shrunk noticeably.
I would like to share the diet with you.
The soup
Ingredients: - two handfuls of Chopped broccoli, one chopped onion (purple), two bags of green tea, two pinches of mixed herbs, two sticks of cut celery, Two handfuls of frozen and crushed spinach or kale, half a table spoon of crushed garlic, Three shakes of black pepper, seven shakes of turmeric, two tablespoons full of apple cider vinegar (with the mother), one bag of white onion powder soup for flavour, a hand full of cooked red speckled beans and a handful of cooked mince meat.
Just add all the ingredients in a pot, add boiling water and switch the stove on high till the water boils. Then lower the heat until the water simmer, Let the soup simmer for an hour. The soup is now ready.
I would only drink water in the morning. At 12h00 I would start eating the soup. There will be about two helpings that you can eat in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame. I also ate a fruit salad every day in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame.
(Note: Apparently turmeric reduces the effect of some chemotherapy drugs and thus should not be taken during chemotherapy.)
During the rest of the week I would also eat food that contains vitamin D like avocado’s, mushrooms, liver and eggs in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame.
It seems to be working for me, maybe it will also work for you.
I pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ that you will be healed and that the cancer will not return. Amen.

I know that Kate Somerville make a d scar that works very well (but it is expensive) and bio oil also works very well.
I am so sorry you've had to go through all of this. When I was 20 (three years ago), I was diagnosed with a thyroid disease called Hoshimotos. Then, later, my mom was diagnosed with possible thyroid cancer. The "C" word was the scariest thing ever. Luckily, after they took a biopsy she didn't have anything; but, they took out her whole thyroid. It really is a scary thing :(

Hi. I am due to do radioiodine as advised by my doctor. I am not sure if I want to do it after reading the side effects but my surgeon said it had affected my trachea a bit and 2 lymph nodes. She said radioiodine will also help ro check if cancer is cleared. Did u do radioactive iodine and any side effects? Wish u abundance of health!
Glad you are well now :). Silicone gel is much better for scars then bio oil which doesn't do a lot other than moisturise.
I've heard about silicone, maybe I should look into it because my scar seems to be healing slower than last time. Thanks!!

Também tive cancro da tiróide (carcinoma papilar) há 6 anos atrás e também fui operada duas vezes, não bem pelos mesmos motivos mas sei bem do que falas... Parece-me que não ficas-te com sequelas nas cordas vocais, o que é ótimo! Eu fiquei com as duas cordas paralisadas numa posição que me limita um pouco a nível respiratório (mas tenho vivido relativamente bem com isso).
O ajuste hormonal é um processo difícil mas não tarda voltarás a sentir-te a 100%!
By the way, a cicatriz é sexy, embrace it! ;)

So glad you are mending! I had thyroid cancer 10 years ago, and I agree w you that it takes a long time to get the synthroid at the right dosage. Stay strong. Did you have radioactive iodine?

Uggh, I found out 2 years ago I has thyroid cancer. I had the surgery my cut was from the center of my neck all the way to my right ear. Stage 3. I cant get my thyrogin tumor number down to zero now I'm doing another lage round of radio active iodine. I just pray it works this time!

I forgot to mentioned that I suffer from Hypothyroidism and I have nodules but thankfully are benign but I still have to take my Synthroid melds everyday, but one thing I have noticed in my case is that is a roller coaster sometimes is higher and other is lower. And I do have all those symptoms: moodiness, aches and pains everywhere, gained weight out of nowhere, not feeling happy and that no one understands what I'm going thru.
Yes, it's not easy!! I only felt better when I added cytomel to my daily routine. However, I am now off of it for pregnancy.

I had thyroid cancer and my thyroid removed in 2019. I had one round of radioactive iodine. Luckily, my thyroglobulin levels have been near zero ever since my surgery.

I don't think I'd even notice the scar had I not known it was there.

I'm sorry you are going though this. I want to tell you that if you have not tried lavender essential oil you should put it on your scaring a couple times a day. Also wherever the cancer is put some frankincense essential oil on the outside a couple of times a day. You can also diffuse it. It has been known to help get raid of the cancer. Be praying.

So you didn’t get a total thyroidectomy? I got a total thyroidectomy this year and now my cancer’s gone
I did in 2009. But it had already metastasized to 22 lymph nodes. Happy to hear you're doing well :)
