Welcome to Wintersun-Day. During the month of September we will be covering all four songs in The Forest Seasons album. We are starting with Loneliness (Winter) and we will continue based on the season that follows.

Little trivia for you, not sure if anyone else has told you yet, something else that's more impressive about Jari's voice is that he only has one lung, he lost one to tuberculosis, which is what the song Beautiful Death is about, cause he was told that there was a high chance he wouldn't survive the operation.
Bloodmoon Collective No, he has both lungs, he just had to have a quarter of his lung removed.
I saw them on friday for the second time and even met Jari and Teemu after the show. My life is now complete :)

As finnish guy.. this song makes me almost cry.. it is so powerful.. and full of sadness and sorrow. Music should touch your heart.. and that's what this song does from start to finnish.. You got new sub guys!

+A&P-REACTS What's more amazing, he never had any musical training apart from a few guitar classes he took right when he was starting out. He taught himself to play multiple instruments and sing.
Both equally amazing, I can barely use a PS4 and my kid has a hard time with fractions.
And like to tell that his lungs are not 100% because of the tuberculosis

The lyric is so emotional because is about how Jari feel because of the death of his father..
For this song he recorded the vocals alone in a isolated room in his department in the middle of the night, in order to get that level of details..

Actually the song Jari wrote for his father was Eternal Darkness (Autumn) because his father passed away during the autumn. He said it a few times during interviews

For me the best song in the new album, so much passion and feeling in this one ! Amazing lyrics, very meaningful. Wintersun never disappoints. Try to hear Winter Madness, Starchild or Battle Against Time from the first album, I'm sure you guys will like it, they're more fast and heavy songs, but still fucking amazing
We plan on tracking back to the first and second album after we cover the new one. I think we will be doing Wintersun-Day for at least 2-3 months.

They are so different from this song, I can't even compare this to the other ones. This song stands out from the rest, being a ballad of sorts, the other three new songs are closer to the "normal" Wintersun. All of them so good in their own way

I don't think i was arguing. Time I is just 3 songs, not much more to react to.
I don't understand your argument. Beautiful Death is on the self titled as well as Winter Madness and Star Child.
I was not saying that this or that album is better. I was just hoping they would react to songs from their first album, simple enough?
My suggestion for the next Winter-sun-day is Death and the Healing.

When you're done with TFS, definitely check out the song Sadness and Hate of wintersun. Not as complex in terms of orchestration, but still a very melodic song with harsh vocal and interspersed clean vocal like this one. Jari wrote that one for his early project (Immemorial) during his teens.
I think you should do Beautiful Death for your next Wintersun song. That has been one of my long time, all time favorite songs. The guitar riffage in there is gnarly, plus all the usual Wintersun good-ness.
Is Jari genius or something far beyond that?
I listen this song 4 times a day, and I don't know, I can't stop listening. The voice is perfect, beautiful, peaceful, I have no words to describe it.
Great reaction, btw this song and "Eternal Darkness" were written because of his father's death.He isolated himself for a few days to really feel the "loneliness" so that's why the vocals are so full of emotion and make them so wonderful. And he even lost unfortunately 25% of his vocals capacity because of a tubercolosis. That's amazing to see how he manage to sing like that!
So far this is the most beautiful thing I have heard from this band. The loneliness really comes through in his voice. This song has blown me away. Knowing what you just told me now, makes it even more impressive.
More accurately, he lost 25% of his right lung. They had to remove it because of TBC, as you said.
I think the song "death and the healing" is about his time in the army where he got tuberculosis and could've died. it's super impressive that he can sing like this with such a handicap, I can't sing halfway like that with full and non-smoker lungs XD

Funny how you mentioned two things about this song that also crossed my mind. First one was the idea of this being in a Game of thrones -soundtrack. Thats exactly what I have thought many times, like Jon Snow wandering somewhere behind the wall feeling the burning coldness of the falling snow...
The other one was the thought of using this in my wedding. Too late for that though, since I was already married when this one came out.

On the other hand, brace yourself, Eternal Darkness is dark AF. Pure black metal. The orchestration track is gold
Awaken for the dark slumber is the right song to start this album, it's the nature awakening after the winter and after the death. Almost a bso movie song. The 3-man chorus is EPIC.

That will be out next Wintersun-Day. Off camera we have talked to eachother and to my son his favorite track it is still Sons of Winter and Stars, for me Loneliness and Time are my absolute favorites so far, I think it will be very hard to surpass the quality of Loneliness...but we as always keep an open mind to all songs and enjoy everything we have heard so far from Wintersun. Favorites everyone will have theirs, that is not a discredit on any of the individual work, just personal preferences.

Also a little fun fact! The mastermind behind all 3 of their albums is non other than their vocalist(Jari).He writes ALL the material for all of their albums (except the drums for the Wintersun and Time I albums, which are done by their drummer)!

Great song, I saw them in Germany at the Summer Breeze festival this year, but unfortunately they didn't play this song, but they played Spring, Autumn and Sons of Winter and Stars. One of the best shows ever :D But have you ever listened to Nightwish? If not, you should definately listen to them. For example the Songs "Beauty of the Beast" (Live in Amsterdam) or The Greatest Show on Earth. And Nightwish will be in North America this winter as far as I know.
We will be doing Nightwish very soon. They are coming to town and we want to check some of their work before we decide if we want to attend.
I've seen Nightwish twice they are an incredible experience. The best song I can recommend is Ghost Love Score live at Wacken 2013

This song has always been super special to me, but somehow lately it has ascended to even higher plane to me. It's so good that I even have began to doubt anything even from Time II could top this and that album has been my most wanted thing in my life. If Silver Leaves can match this, I couldn't be happier. Let's see how that song will turn out with all that high tech producing with crazy orchestrations etc. It will be nuts if the next crowdfunding album is as good as TFS.
Oh damn, I wanna see your face if you really left Eternal Darkness the last from this album :D Just saw them live a week ago and they played this. They played also Awaken from the Dark Slumber and Eternal Darkness. But when we are talking about epicness, emotions and great singers nonetheless great composers, I really can't wait for your video for Ghost Love Score by Nightwish and Nightwish in general. You should take the version of Tampere Ratina Stadium from their Vehicle of Spirit DVD. That's slightly better than the Wacken version. There's also End of an Era version with their original singer but the first mentioned is far the best. There is a better song to get know to the original singer and that their version of the main theme of The Phantom of the Opera. Anyways Nightwish can step up one level higher in everything than Wintersun. Wintersun is great and I love them but Nightwish has a special place in my heart just by their music. Keep on going!
You know, back in the day when the initial crowdfunding vidoe was released, only the little snippet of this song was revealed at 10:55-11:05 and that alone blew my mind so hard that I knew back then that this song will be my favorite Wintersun song ever and I played it over and over again like thousand times. I was kinda right, but I have hard time deciding which one is better, Sons of Winter and Stars or Loneliness :)

I've seen them twice in Toronto and also had the chance to meet them in 2013! They're currently on tour for this album in Europe, so they'll eventually be back! Keep your eyes open for tour dates!
I am hoping the show won't be 19+ we have missed a few because of that, I hate going without my son.
A&P-REACTS Pretty sure the two shows they played were all ages. The first show they opened for Eluveitie and the second show was their headliner for the Time I album. They are just as amazing live.
That would have been an amazing show with Eluveitie. I will keep checking the Inertia site they promote most of these shows in Toronto.
You should check out "Anti Life Saviour" from Shade Empire. It's a 10 minutes long and very epic song.
