It's not always easy to find a baby to play an onscreen baby. A lot of times twins or triplets are used to play one because of child labour laws. That could be why a CGI baby was used. Real babies and children can be unpredictable, and child labour laws very strict.
They were booked so the creators had to improvise
My Understanding is that enough fans wanted this actress to play rennesme and with her rapid aging it was more cost effective to cgi her face onto body doubles for consistancy sake but it ended up not aging very well and is as creepy as all get out.
I love how so many people are concerned with Jacob imprinting on a baby, not by choice and it states so many times that it isn't a romantic thing might I add, but no one really questions the 100 smthn year old vampire literally being all over and stalking a 17 year old girl😂

imprinting does not mean that jacob sees nessie as a sexual or even romantic partner. he sees himself as an older brother or guardian towarts her. for the time being thats all he will see himself as.
until such a time when they do get to be the same age, jacob will remain 16 (yes he is supposed to be 16 years old) due to phasing keeping him from aging. eventually the relationship will evolve into friendship, and most likely into love though nessie could absolutely reject him.

I love how Twilight made their wolves big as they should be and almost as powerful as Vampires unlike other movies and series who make it seem like werewolves are way inferior to Vampires.
In the classic tales, werewolves are just as powerful as vampires. It comes down to the individual ww or vamp as to who would win one on one. Heck, it was even shown that in the classic movies as Dracula didn't want any part of fighting the Wolfman.

Some people seem to overlook that he had no control over imprinting on her, that was against his will. He would’ve killed Renesmee if he didn’t imprint, regardless of if he saw her as a monster or not. The way Jacob saw it before he even walked back inside the house was that Bella died because of her, so Renesmee must meet the same fate.

THAT's what happens when a person a wolf imprints on is killed by another wolf.
ALL werewolves in La Push would end up dead. No exceptions. Because all of them were near Cullen's house in this particular moment and so they were involved in what happened.
im not so sure ALL of them would wind up dead from the pain. the books explain how a wolfs imprentee(?) was killed only one in their history and it practically destroyed the wolf as a person. but obviously the packs are still around.

The whole him imprinting on her was always weird to me because the connotations around imprinting is romantic the majority of the time. It almost always blooms into romance if it didn't start that way.

I just can't understand why name the process "imprinting" instead of something more poetic, like "bonding". "Imprinting" just makes me thing of... printers. Something mechanic. Not a highly romantic soul-bond.
I believe cause it's the term usually for baby animals. You know when a baby first looks at its mom? They "imprint" and get attached and follow, which is kinda what the whole Wolf bonding is about (Bonding does sound more romantic though I mean seriously would have been much better)

Idk, Stephenie Meyer makes it very clear in the books that the relationship between Jacob and Renesmee is on a strictly platonic level while she's a kid - sort of a combination big brother / best friend - and that there's no romantic relationship between them until Renesmee is an adult. I think she was trying to head off the 'that's creepy' comments at the pass
