The burning faith of Girish Chandra Ghosh acted as the trigger for the blessed event that happened on 1st January 1886 when Sri Ramakrishna transformed himself into the Kalpataru, the divine wishfulfilling tree and awakened the spiritual consciousness of the devotees present there at the Cossipore Garden House. In this inspiring talk on the life of Girish Chandra Ghosh, rev. Maharaj points out the important lesson we all can imbibe from this incarnation of faith. Maharaj also divulges the secret behind the famous saying of Jesus, ‘None reaches the father except through the son’.

I understand this view, but should we not also consider that West and East are just illusions that divide humanity, which ultimately is unified in consciousness?
But yes, from what I've heard, the younger generations of India are losing touch with traditions and great teachings. I wish everyone spoke the same language so Swamiji didn't have to translate or travel at all 😅
I hope Swami Sarvapriyananda's words can be heard by all people across the whole world someday.

I wish I could find someplace someone where I can surrender without single thought.
That magic happened to me while I was struggling to become a vegetarian. I tried to rationalize the thought of vegetarianism, told myself in numerous ways, held to the plan for few days, slipped off after few days, felt guilty, struggled for 4+ years this way... And over night (after Shiva Ratri fasting saadhana) it has magically become natural with me... without even planning for or asking for it...peace dawned

Its faith. The most powerful force. Beyond mental and material power. When something beyond calls out and says to your mind that you no longer need certain things to eat anymore your body automatically falls to the feet and mercy of this instinctive bliss, it's when we know faith is the highest beauty. I am muslim and by the grace of Allah or Ramakrishna I am pure vegetarian for the last 6 years.
It didn’t happen overnight… it happened because of your trial and struggle for the 4+ years. I was reading Gyana yoga this morning and Vivekananda says, keep trying and one day u’ll definitely succeed. Just don’t stop trying.
The words of Jesus, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Are completely misunderstood.
Jesus at that point has no personal identity, so his identity is supplied by the clean Self. He called it Christ, others call it Atman, Brahman, etc.
In this way, to experience the Self as it IS, is the prerequisite to experience God, although God experience waits for the _whole_ mind to become quiet and accept the identity given by God.

Girish Ghosh was addressed to by Swami-ji (Vivekananda) as "GC". During the early years of Swami-ji's life of association with Ramakrishna, he did not look upon GC with respect even saying that he would avoid the path taken by GC because theatre was looked down upon as a form of entertainment and GC's presumed association with people of ill repute. But later on Swami-ji & GC became very close to each other and the best of friends.
Swami Ji, today a kind gentleman who supports and follows the precepts of your order, texted me that it is Kalpatsru Day and explained its significance in his WhatsApp message. I who am at the early stage of my journey, was aware of the story but not of the date itself. Turning to UA-cam for my daily inspiration by listening to your talks, I was so fortunate to find this episode. In listening to you and picturing in my mind, Sri Ramakrishna and Girish Chandra Ghosh, I found tears continually streaming do2n my cheeks. No doubt I love your talk. Sara priyananda, I didn't know that Girish gosh lost all hus kids, that's painful, yes through pain people grow, but pain is unbearable. See you guys are clever become a monk, so you guys have no burden, no family, no kids, you guys will never be a father, so how do you know the pain of a parents. See we pray 🙏 God, same as God wants his or her bhakta. We want 🙌 blessings from God. We are not using God as an advantage. Monks are clever, they don't have to go sansara suffering

I call it trust, not faith. Faith is the belief that something exists for which you have no proof. In that case, I rather now know. However, the existence of the Divine and it's Grace is undeniable, palpable and evident in every atom of creation. Faith is not needed. Trust is the correct word. Remember that neither Poli nor Sanskrit translate very well into English due to the lack of terms. Namaskaram.
