i too used the pandemic to become a more enlightened movie viewer, i've gone one by one with all of my favorite actors and watched their entire filmography. when i got to tilda it changed my friggin life.
This interview relaxed me, inspired me and most of all gave me hope. She speaks about art and so many wonderful artists without sounding pretentious. I so appreciate the existence of this woman!
Tilda Swinton is ironing clothes and falling down UA-cam rabbit holes. Y'all, Tilda is the most relatable Hollywood star because she is not Hollywood and she just does her damn thang.
I love what she says about Identity ... so true ... plus, she carries such a magnificently simple worldview and such a genuine sense of herself, without the ego mania and narcissism... one of my favourite artist... I wouldn't think of her as a mere "actress" either, she's someone who has chosen to work in the field of cinema and the performing arts.
Being so extraordinary, she is so human, like all of us. When she said that she has to work, but instead she is lost in youtube, I immediately related to her in the full sense.
I stood behind her at Gatwick airport a couple of days after Bowie died. I met Bowie while working on his exhibition in London and I also met Derick Jarmen back in the early 90's. I really wanted to say hello to her but didn't want to bother her. She was smiling at people staring at her in the shop. She seemed like a beautiful gentle bird. Xxx
I can't believe that this only has 7K views and 19 comments. This is pure gold, for anyone but so much more for artists! These conversations have been really inspirational. Loved the one with Cate as well.
Interesante apellido! Tiene qué ver con el artista? Creo que tienes que buscar específicamente, el nombre de Tilda para encontrar esta entrevista. Así, que afortunados quienes la encuentran.
I so much prefer when interview questions are not given in advance. You want to see interviewees think as they speak. More articulate and detailed answers merely regurgitated is a dull listen. Hats off to Mr Crewdson.
as I read once in a comment of a video with her and jim jarmusch: this woman could be a scientist, or an inventor or an engineer or anything she wants. she's a genious.
How does this not have any more views or comments or interaction or anything? This is such a brilliant interview! The more I learn about her and see her work the more I admire her. Oh woah there were actual students asking her questions and stuff?! Dang I wish I’d been apart of that. Tilda Swinton seems absolutely lovely I’d love to have the chance to say hello to her someday.
Thank you for this interview. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Tilda Swinton’s answers and stories in general. Her approach to the artistic process as well.
It's a pleasure to hear her speak, and speak on topics that are spread out and delivered in a simple, splendid eloquence. Wonderful perspectives and clarity into her life and way of seeing/feeling. Thank you very much, both of you.
Fantastic, so glad I stumbled across this zoom session. I aspire to work with the great Tilda Swinton one day on one of my Art House Films. Thank you Gregory for this public screening.
Lockdown makes one presumptuous. I too worked with Jarman. (And yes, there is a script which 1994 beat us to).I too went to our university. I too know Northumberland (which is how we both know about picnic rugs and buzzards and using 'one' and the subjunctive). This is just to thank you for your utter integrity, flawless articulacy, fearlessness, artistry. And for saving Prospect.
Powers of Ten by Charles somebody. If you watch her interview again she mentions saying she thought it was a dream for years. It's a science film. Hope that answers your question. Smiles stay well.

SHE LIKE TOTORO!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I have always felt this kindred-ness with Tilda... for some reason. I recently saw Susperia on recommendation - and LOVED it ♥
Lol some of the students are not even paying attention, chatting amongst themselvesXD hello it's Tilda you have an hour with, isn't that an incredible privilage??
I am a bit confused: she said that "failure is the top (or the best, I am not sure)", but then she said that basically she never failed because all her work became reference work, and they knew it years before...She said that she is watching trash on UA-cam but then the so-called trash are documentaries....To the question on what movie made her cry, she mentioned Hitchcock and Totoro? She said she doesn't see herself as an actor, but she earns her money with acting. She said that she doesn't know many actors...I like her, but I am not sure what to think now
Thank you great Q&A! I know exactly what Tilda is talking about when she says she dream't of something and then saw it in the film "Stalker" mind blowing! I had the same thing, I was 11 and then I saw it in the film Melancholia! mind blowing. Tilda has a lot of great films but her Masterpiece is "Orlando". :-)
Oh same with me with Melancholia. I was like wtf with my mouth open when I saw it. Maybe these directors are able to catch the visceral and the primitive in out brains? Idk ...
The Power of Ten! I remember that so clearly but never knew what the film was called. Thank you Tilda I will be showing that to my three boys now even though they are not little anymore! ❤️
This woman is one of the greatest treasures of our time. Pity the souls who are unenlightened to that fact.

Shes only the best actress that plays the best female villains.
Every villain she plays really gets under my skin its great.
Rosamund Pike
Eva Green
Which is why I would be honored to have her in my 1850s feature in the near future. Here's hoping it is possible.
I loved Tilda as the White Witch from Narnia.
