Thanks for this video. I had the similar experience. Got to the point of providing the letter of intent and got frustrated. Too many emails and phone calls with folks who are deliberately unhelpful. We must have dealt with the same people.
@@jetsettingwithjackieI renewed my Jamaican passport after 40 years. I tried using it to land in Jamaica recently and the kios says I needed a Visa to enter. It happened to another lady too. We both started laughing. Our country wrote us off. The immigration officer had to enter them manually.

Great info Jackie. Thank you! Question regarding the import of motor vehicles, do you know if you need to pay an import or customs duty on vehicles?... thank you.
8:16 it's not worth it. Every vehicle is in Jamaica although the cost is double it's still less expensive than shipping one especially if it's more than 4 years old. They have an age limit on cars coming in the Island.
Hello @huhu2612 that’s not been clearly stated anywhere. However since they are two different processes it would not be advisable to do that. The process for shipment and clearing of household items is handled by the Returning Resident Unit; whereas the Importation of vehicles are handled by the Trade Board. If done together I can see where it could get complicated and increase the amount of time it would take to clear your container. I can reach out to one of my contacts and see if they have handled a situation where here this has happened and how it went. I’ll keep you posted on this.
I wonder if this is a process you only need to go through if you're bringing barrels and shipping things 🤔 My husband and I will only be moving back with what can fit in our suitcases.
if if you are planning to ship stuff in go to Jamaica and see how much those same goods costs there vs the cost of shipping and clearing. Every thing is available in Jamaica that's in developing countries. It might be less expensive and less hassle to purchase it there.

Lol most likely. It’s sad that we get some much trouble just trying to come back home 🏡. I hope you will continue the process and it gets better.

Jealously maybe from the lady with bad manners

My husband and I will only be moving back with what can fit in our suitcases.
That is correct. You would not need it if you are not seeking the concession on your personal items. I am assuming you are both Jamaican.
@@jetsettingwithjackie thanks! Yeah, we shouldn't have a problem then.
Do they need all that information it's because you moving house whole home items back to jamaica or to staying on the island
It is just to get the concession to bring the items in. I’m a Jamaican born so I don’t need to do anything to come back home.
@@jetsettingwithjackie so do they lower your bills on the items you shipping
