How to fill/refill your Wild refillable deodorant case!

- A how-to instructional video on filling or refilling your Wild refillable natural deodorant case.
Instructions
Step 1: Twist the base of the case left until you cannot twist it any further.
Step 2: Squeeze the buttons on either side of the case and pull the base down and out.
Step 3: Take a deodorant refill, remove the lid, and give it a gentle squeeze to loosen the product from its casing. Store your spare refills in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Step 4: Place the refill firmly onto the base of the case, so that it sits securely in place.
Step 5: Slide the body back over the refill and base until the buttons click back into position.
Step 6: To use the deodorant, remove the lid of the case and twist the base right to push up 2-3mm of the product.
Step 7: Apply a couple of swipes to clean, dry armpits and enjoy Wild-ly fresh pits.
Step 8: To refill your case, twist the base of the case left until you cannot twist it any further. You should be twisting it back down to its starting position.
Step 9: Open up the case again and remove the empty refill. The empty refill can be home composted or put in the paper recycling.

Top comment about pushing down the refill was a life saver- I was really frustrated turning the base & would have given up. Wild REALLY need to include this in their instructions!

Make sure to push down on the used cartridge when you start winding anti clockwise - then it will engage and wind down to the bottom after about 10 turns! Then you can depress the side buttons and remove as instructed. If you don’t start by pressing down on the cartridge it won’t engage and you’ll spin forever
Thank you so much for your comment! They should include this info in the instructions. I was in the frustrating "spinning forever" situation until I read this and started pressing down.

There's so much left on the stick once it's 'finished'. A good 1/4 of the stick just won't come out of the top. Feels like another design is needed.
The only reason I’ve stuck with this product is it works but you definitely feel cheated by the amount left behind!! I’ve tried mushing the end back onto the top of my next one but that don’t work for long! Still can’t help feeling cheated 😢

Once you remove the used cartridge take out what's left (it should come out like a mini bar of soap but with the bottom part of the packaging still on) and attach it to the base without adding the top part so there is just the base and what's left of the deodorant:) worked for me

I just scrape something out and use it as deo cream. Works just as well.
I think Wild need to tell customers in their initial instructions about the need to push the old refill down while turning the base, to release the used refill. I've only learned this from reading all of the comments! Very frustrating after a lot of difficulty messing with the case!

It's a shame so much of the product is still there but is not pushing up anymore. I use the rest without the body. Its a bit frustrating...
On the other hand at least we can see what's left and still use it up. In other brands we don't see what's inside... 🧐
I gently push the left over out of the packaging and place it on top of my new refill, saves wasting a good 2mm of product.

Yep. Several days worth is always left on the cartridge but the case doesn’t twist high enough to let you use it. Scraping off onto the next one is a good idea. I’d been using the little bit of cardboard on its own 😂 Not a great design from a ‘low waste’ product.

I am so glad you made this video. I was starting to get concerned that I'd broken my case before I'd even got the first refill into it! Now I feel much more confident. And I am now subscribed to the channel, too.
I agree you should really include the mention of needing to push down on the refill to replace it!! I've replaced mine a couple of times before but it had been a while so I'd forgotten that bit, not good to have to rely on youtube comments to have a useable product!
Totally agree! Until I came across that vital piece of advice, I couldn't get it to work.

For anyone who accidentally separated the internal parts like I did, press them firmly together while twisting the bottom left! With the screw bit lined up with the hole on the bottom of the part that supports the deodorant. This won't make any sense for the rest of you who have never broken theirs 😂

I've never once had it done as easy as this. Really is a chore every time to the point I messaged them 4 times as I'm adamant my holder is broke with really no resolution so cancelled my order 😮💨
Don't waste the leftovers once your stick has finished being useful in the case. At least another week's worth of deodorant paste that you can apply to your pits with your fingers!!
This in my opinion is where the design fails. There's so much left and it's such a pain having to use your fingers rather than wasting it as there's so much in it

😭 it doesn't work. Says twist until you can't twist it, but I can twist it for hours, it's just doesn't stop ... I just can't take it out 😭

I just figured it out, you have to just yank the base down and it comes out, you don’t press any buttons 😊

Just wind it down anti clockwise all the way until it stops... Then release the holder using the buttons. I had a fucking mare myself first time... 😉
Yeah, my right underarm is aching of lactic acid right now after having turned it according to the video to the left - like a hundred times - and it still won’t come off!
@@lavachekikri that means the action wasn’t engaging and pulling the cartridge down - you have to twist it left (anti-clockwise) while giving the spent cartridge a push downwards into the bottle with your finger, then it will engage and you will notice after about 10 full turns it retracts completely and stops allowing you to turn, and you can then depress the side buttons and pull the thing apart… awful instructions and design

Not if you twist all the way to the left. Then it's easy.

What about the excess deodorant at the bottom of the refills? I might be being really dumb but I always have a lot left over around the lil plastic stub at the bottom
you can stick it onto the the refill.
When i contacted customer support at Wild suggest scraping it out with your fingernail and smushing it on to your new refill. They said it was a design fault and they were supposed to be researching an alternative.
I think the same, just read a comment about sticking it on the new one, just done that! Love the smell and ethics but it always fills me with dread when I need to change the refill 😂 I'll get quicker I'm sure!
I had a little left over in my first refill so I popped that on top of the new refill and it fit fine
Does anyone know how temperature affects the deodorant? I mean, will it melt when its 30°C+ outside?
turned + turned, but it never came to a stop. thought my case was broken or never worked properly ... then got simple 'push down used cartridge before you start winding anti-clockwise'. WILD must add this info to their instructions!
Huge thanks to the poster who said YOU MUST UNTWIST DOWN THE OLD EMPTY REFILL RIGHT TO THE BOTTOM before you can press in the buttons at the side ! Wild you need to make a new video!
What’s the best way eco-wise to dispose of the remaining cardboard tube still containing a wodge of the deodorant stuck at the bottom?
If you pop out the bottom of the cardboard tube then you can put the last bit of deodorant on top of the new refill or in a jar

I had been trying to change the refill with no instructions as they weren't anywhere on my wild pack (unless I threw them out?) I started winding to the left it was going round and round and round and not stopping! Then I read the comment by @ D K below and pushed down on the cartridge while turning it to the left - it started winding down easily until it stopped - the rest was straight forward and now i finally a new scent to try :)

Oh my god this entire time I thought that I took the casing off the deodorant, no wonder it was always loose and came out!
I managed to get the old refill out and the base clicked back on, but it won’t twist more than one click and the base looks like it’s coming away from the rest of the casing? I don’t find these easy to use at all.

I finally got it! What a mission. I agree that WILD should give you all the instructions up front….. and I’m not happy that a lot of the deo is left in the refill that is not useable, unless you dig a spoon in to get it. Very frustrating and a huge waste! Any ideas?
Is it possible to switch out the cartridges before they’re empty? If I just feel like switching scents?

one of my cartridges won't work on it. I put it in, do one wind and then it stops and looks wonky and sort of jams? it's the best scent so I'm a bit annoyed.

Had the same struggle. You can slowly push the deodorant at the top down whilst you turning, until it's on the bottom. Then you can open it.😊

I was winding and winding anti clockwise about 2 years 😅 and it simply didn't work to refill... And Wild is talking about sustainability? It's one off use except if you discover the comment from one user who helped to solve the issue by recommending to push the old cartidge down as well when winding. Unfortunately it was too late for me, because my cartridge broke. This fun is too expensive if Wild is not able to provide correct demo. It's a pity because I loved the smell and the concept and I have spare refills at home but missing now the cartridge 😢😭

Haha I took the cardboard tube off my first carton. Just realised that was wrong. The deodorant had broken up a bit, other than that it wasn't affected by my mistake.

The picture on the new base on mine, shows the twist in the opposite direction and it says ‘wind your case down fully to insert a new refill’ hmm
Some of you designs dont have large buttons. Mine have tiny little slits that are really hard to press
Totally stuck. Won't come out. Am squeezing and squeezing and have just managed to pull the silver cover off the twisty bit at the bottom. Cartridge will not come apart....had to pull used cartridge out through the top.

Some of my refills went missing in the mail... They either fell out or were taken in transit...

I don’t have these “cute lil side buttons”. I bought the Emma bridgewater case and it has tiny little release buttons and I currently cannot open it to replace the deodorant. Any tips with this one?

This is still problematic and have seen people online having multiple occasions of not being able to separate their components... It doesn't happen this easily at all for some items and mines now broken. I can't use it and i tried through the week to do this exactly as laid out. It doesn't separate easily whatsoever 😖 even got help to try and it wouldn't happen... And yes... I did exactly what was specified 😣

I did everything by the video, turned down until it wasn't turning, pushed down on the stick. Tried to press buttons but they are just not pressing. They are really really stiff and not pressing at all
I think I’m going to stop buying refills unfortunately. It’s too difficult to change them in the case.

How do you use the last bit? I’m out off because other sticks are messy to get the use of the last bit
not sure if you’re still wondering but i found that if you take the refill out and push the bottom of the refill, you can get the bottom out with the excess product out and use it until it’s finished, not very ideal and a bit messy but helps if you want to save the product!
I turn left and it doesn’t stop! It is my second case now. I throw one away as it wouldn’t let me refill. What do I do?
Really hard to refill read the messages about pressing old one down, which I’ve done but still can’t get bottom off to refill new one. Not the best to do with Arthritis in hands. Surely could be made simpler!!!

Trying to insert refill - have watched video - but it says to twist base till it stops - what do i do when it doesnt stop? It wont open for me. I stupidly bought two refills that I now cant use. Waste of money - going back to my old style deodorant

I'm going back to Proverb as lasted 3 times longer, better smell and no waste left at the end as nearly 5mm of deodorant left but could not use
One of the buttons didn’t click back into place and so the twisting didn’t work after inserting the new cartridge but I squeezed the parts together a bit and it worked somehow. Was already starting to get a bit sweaty from struggling with refilling the case for the first time😂
I’ve just messaged on the website but I’ve done everything you say to do in the video and I’ve been turning anti-clockwise for well over an hour and it’s still turning. I’ve pushed down existing cartridge and still can’t change. I only have the case a few months and this is only about the third time to change, is my case defective?? Or what else can I do?
