"As Mahomes gets older, his brain will grow" yeah, and his legs will atrophy, and the damage he took earlier in his career when he WAS a good runner will catch up with him. A lot of Mahomes' success has been through his mobility. Brady didn't have that "problem" (in terms of longevity, it absolutely is a problem).

When an elite QB like Tom is handed a top 5 scoring defense for 10 of his 21 years as a starter, that's how you pile up championships. Its the primary difference between him and the other generational greats. We obsess over "intangibles" but if Tom had to score 30-35 ppg like Brees (or Peyton for half his career) had to, he isnt hoisting that thing 7 times.
Just like the other greats, he had a 6-7 career playoff record in years his defense finished below 8th in points alllowed. How can people not comprehend this?

So if Purdy wins the SB we should start to compare him to being as good as Mahomes- right? Oh, you say he's only played 1/3 as long as Mahomes? Wait, so what about Maholmes only played 1/3 as long as Brady? Oh, that's different....hmmmmm Oh, and KC defense is THE reason KC is in the SB but Brady's defenses...what...were different...how? At age 43 Tom Brady threw for more TD's in the 1st half of SB 55 than Mahomes did in his first 2 SB's combined

Yeah all of you guys are absolutely right the Rings are a lazy argument as far as who's the greatest is but I'm telling you right now you cannot criticize Tom Brady because his teams had great defenses, if he didn't put up stats and put up great offensive numbers in those Super Bowls he would not have won the Super Bowl MVP 5 times... they don't give the award to a player that doesn't perform on the grandest stage, he didn't just ride his defenses coattails to a championship, go back and look at the stats of the games where he won those MVPs, and they are some of the best passing numbers in Super Bowl history, but you can completely give Patrick Mahomes credit because of all of his offensive numbers that are greatly exaggerated because he is playing in an era of football that is solely geared toward offense, in the early 2000s it was a defensive League, so criticizing Tom Brady because he didn't put up huge passing numbers is absolutely garbage and not to mention he never had receivers like Tyreek hill, he had Randy Moss for one season... and that just so happens to be the season where he broke the all-time single-season touchdown record. And remind me again who holds the record for the most passing yards in Super Bowl history? Oh yeah...Tom Brady with 505 yards and the year before he orchestrated the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history with 466 yards vs Atlanta... that's not someone who relied solely on their Defense to win...

This is a lazy argument that doesn’t stand up to the facts. The supposedly great defense of the early 2000 Patriots was ranked #17 when Brady took over and the team was 5-13 under Belichick. Over the course of Brady’s time there, the Patriots D averaged #16.8. Some years it was great; others not. What the Patriots did always have under Brady was a top ten offense, including the most dominant offense of all time in 2007 (and statistically second only to the 2013 Broncos).

FYI Lamar sucks as a runner on QB sneaks, he would have made a bad RB, his ability as a WR might have rivaled J Rice, but he's a below average passer. Lamar is the best passing WR that never was. Purdy will get his chance of being exposed in the SB against the Chiefs, his career has 10 more games left as he will get benched nest season. The Ravens already exposed Purdy, the Chiefs will confirm it. The KC Chiefs will pass for over 400 yards and score over 40 points against SF in SB 58. buh bye 49ers.

Mahomes is an all-time great, but he's not Brady. The media tends to jump on the latest and greatest . 3 reasons why.
    1. Brady is the superior pocket qb .
    2. Reid is a top 5 all-time offensive coach.
    3. Bradys' competition was ... Manning, Brees, Roethlisberger , Rivers, Rodgers , Warner, Wilson all HOF qbs. Hon mention. .Eli Manning, Romo, McNabb
Mahomes comp Allen, LJ, Burrow ..all 3 have HOF potential, but serious flaws. Turnovers, shrinking in big games and injury prone. .

@RichieIsRight imo Mahomes has never been as good as Brady, so he would have to surpass 7 SBs to become the goat. I've seen Mahomes make some out of this world throws, great scrambles, and rare as can be off schedule plays but play after play he's never thrown as many perfect throws, read defenses or got the most out of his receivers as Brady. A good example is Watson and Scantling vs. Hogan. Both of those guys are better than Hogan yet they have minimal impact with the Chiefs. Meanwhile, Brady had Hogan an mvp candidate in the sb they lost to Philly.

@@KevonDaDon Ok, and...? It still counts as a loss for Mahomes though, right? Even though the O-line was miserable, it still counts, right? Because we don't cut Brady the same slack in SB 42, when he was sacked 5 times because his O-line was a turnstile against a Giants team that led the league in sacks in 2007.
      Basically, it's like this:
2001: Tuck Rule. Ok, so that super bowl is out.
2003: Kasay's kickoff went out of bounds, so that one doesn't count.
2004: I don't know, I'm sure we could come up with something for this one.
      2007: Brady lost.

2014: They didn't run the ball, so that one doesn't count.
2016: Atlanta choked, so that one doesn't count.
      2017: Brady lost
2018: It was all defense, so this one doesn't count.
2020: No fair-- Mahomes' O-line was injured, plus the Bucs were STACKED.

And I really thought he was better then most or just as good as any of the top QB's this year. If Shannahan and Lynch don't win this SB. Because Brady told them he would not play this year for them. I believe there both gone. Brady also plays with his brain people. He isn't about showing off and throwing the ball sidearm. catching was the position I played and at only 5 feet 9 inches I threw pretty hard to second base. Harder and more acurate then Piazza!

I would love to bet Mad Dog on Mahomes getting to 7 rings, he sucks at betting, I know I'll win. Unlike Brady, Mahomes won't go 10 years without a SB ring. As the check is now due on all the teams with proven QB's in the AFC, you'll see what you think are the top teams today, fall by the waste side. I can see the Chiefs dominating the AFC like no other team in NFL history.

Mahomes only needs 7, if you want to go the road that Brady beat Mahomes in the SB, I'll tell you that Eli Manning is the GOAT that Brady will never catch. That's an idiot idea, that because Mahomes had no front line and a broken toe, the ball kept hitting WR's in the face and bouncing off for an Int, lol, that Brady was somehow better than Mahomes, waaahahahahaha. @@Phil_Williamson

At age 43 Tom Brady threw for more TD's in the 1st half of SB 55 than Mahomes did in his first 2 SB's combined
As for catching Brady in TD's passing and yards I'll help you with the basic fundamental math on that
Mahomes would have to throw for 5000 yards and 50 TD's for the next 10 years to catch Brady.
By age 35 Mahomes legs will be rubber and everyone knows he can't pass from the pocket

((FREE)) agency March 1, 1993. The NFL salary cap came to fruition in tandem with the beginning of NFL free agency. In 1992. Joe Montana played from 1979-94, Troy Aikman from 1989-2000, his career stats are 165 TD's to 145 int's. I'm sick and tired of comparing any QB to Mahomes in these times when teams had no salary caps and no free agency. A team could buy the best players and jail them on their teams. Montana is a product of these times and still has bad stats, lol. Troy Aikman wouldn't last a single season with his stats today; he would be benched. Brady is the (ONLY) QB that played his entire career with a salary cap and free agency, making it (HARDER) to have a dynasty. Now Mahomes is doing it, there is no other QB in the NFL today that compares to Mahomes and only one in history, that being Brady. If anybody (EVER) brings up Montana and 4 SB's just reply, "No salary cap, No free agency back then, doesn't count." Looking at Brady's and Mahomes first 7 years has Mahomes far ahead of Brady in every stat. They say Montana never threw an INT in the SB, well he should have, penalties erased 7 INT's he threw in SB's. Remember (The Catch) over Dallas in the NFC Conference game? Yeah, Montana threw 3 INT's in that game before (The Catch), Montana was far from perfect. Montan's career stats: 273 TD's and 139 INT's, lol. Mahomes career stats: 219 TD's and 63INT's. Going forward, no QB in history compares to Mahomes stats today, not even Brady, so STFU about stats, Mahomes is only chasing rings at this point, it's not if, it's when. BTW, the check is due next season on the contracts of....Burrow, Allen, Hurbert, Lamar, ect. Who will they cut? The KC Chiefs are currently in their 2nd year of rebuilding, after Mahomes check came due 2 years ago, lol, and they went to back-to-back SB's, lol. In the offseason, the chiefs will be getting not 1 but 3 great WR's for Mahomes in the draft and free agency, the AFC is fucked for the foreseeable future.

And since you seem to be such an expert on the past you conveniently forgot *you must have selective amnesia* because in the first 10 years of Brady's career the rules favouring receivers as well as QB's have astronomically changed not to mention Brady played for an ultra conservative defensive coach as opposed to Mahomes who plays for one of the greatest offensive minds in NFL history.

I can see you woefully lack the insight on how the NFL has changed over the years. In 1972 the the undefeated Dolphins won out with a 17-0 record where the dolphins QB's threw for a grand total of 16 TD's all season. Jump ahead 20 years and Tom Brady led the NFL in 2002 with 28 TD's passing. Jump ahead another 20 years and Brady led the NFL in TD's passing with 43. Do you see where i am going with this? Here is some context for you ~ Dak Prescott led the NFL in TD's passing this season with 36. At the ages of 43 and 44 Brady threw for 40 and 43. I'll tell you what you get back to me in the year 2039 when Mahomes is 44 and throwing for 43 TD's. In back to back Super Bowls Brady threw for a Twilight Zone 1000 yards combined at ages 39 and 40 . If you are going to drop Brady's name always remember there is someone smarter than you ready to call your bluff. And like that other guy said you seem to know your history about free agency and non salary cap era's but you kind of stalled around the year 1992. Brady is a 2 time ALL DECADE QB (2000's and 2010's) where only 1 QB from each decade is named the best. You get back to me in about 15 years when Mahomes can say that. And remember this one thing ~ Mahomes can't pass from the pocket and those legs don't get any younger ~just ask Russell Wilson

Not only did I say that Brady was the GOAT with 7 rings, but I added that Brady did it in salary cap era with free agency making it that much harder to have rings. So, you not only have a problem with reading skills, but you add nonfactual opinions to prove your point like Mahomes is a bad pocket passer, lol. FYI, Brady was a scrambler for first downs when he was younger, so your lack of NFL history is breath taking. When it comes to an award Mahomes doesn't qualify for yet like best QB of a decade, lol, he has the 2020's wrapped up already, lol. Brady started his career at the beginning of a decade, remember? That kinda gives him an edge. I'm pre gifting Mahomes as best QB for the 2030's as well, so Mahomes will have both decades, see how that works. Lamar is trash, he can't throw on the run or the pocket, lol. Mahomes runs when needed, he's the best pocket QB in history. @@antonchigurh7227

When Mahomes is 44 in the year 2039 and he is leading the NFL in TD's passing,Yards (5300) and completions like Brady did get back to me. When Mahomes is 39 and 40 and he throws for a Twilight Zone NFL record 1000 yards in back to back Super Bowls (466 yards and 505 yards both NFL SB records) get back to me. When Mahomes throws 4 TD's in a Super Bowl Game against a team (SEATTLE) that hadn't allowed a QB to throw 4 TD's against them in over 4 years get back to me. At ages 27,37 and 43 Brady threw for more TD's in 1 SB than Mahomes did in his first 2 SB's combined. I got a million of these. And for the mathematically inclined out there Patrick Mahomes would have to throw for 5000 yards and 50 TD's a season for the next 10 years to catch Brady. Now i am really good with forensic statistics and I'm quite confident to say that is absolutely a mathematical improbability. ZERO CHANCE.
