    I got the 262 recently and did some testing. In auto mode , it stops when it starts inpacting. Another 1 second burst after that gets it really close to 80 lbs which is what i need for my Honda accord. On setting 2 with a regular 4 ah battery, gets it up to about 150 ft lbs if you let it impact for about 3 seconds. I'd always suggest stopping early and using a torque wrench though. Overtightened lug nuts are prone to failure.

      I was wondering about that. Mode 2 after about 3 seconds 150 ft pounds. Thanks! And if course torque check afterwards.

    Ryobi just released their high torque. Has an automatic mode to prevent busting the threads just like mid torque. Automatic will just tighten snug. No longer do we have to break the wallet to get a high torque. Seriously man, don't want to pay 300 dollars for a milwaukee and I am glad TTi (parent company of Milwaukee and also makes power tools for Ridgid) decided to step down by releasing an affordable high torque through Ryobi. I think for driving lag screws the high torque has more than enough torque to do all the jobs.

    Why aren’t you using an impact socket?

    • @joemcleod7173

      I wanted to get rid of that Chrome one anyway. But I understand the hazards of using Chrome sockets versus impact sockets. Impact sockets hit harder as well. Something that's been talked about already. It's a legitimate argument.

    For that p262 you need to use the HP battery not those older ones to get the full potential of that tool.

    • @joemcleod7173

      I agree. I think the p262 with an HP battery is a very good impact wrench at full potential.

    I had the ryobi P261 and quickly got rid of it as it would shutdown in the middle of removing some of the tougher impact bolts. I switched over to rigid mid torque and high torque and never looked back. 👍🏼🇨🇦

    Anybody else cringe when he dropped the torque wrench..?

    • @madpogue

      I cringed when he used the impact to install the lug nuts and didn't hand torque the last bit. That's what the torque wrench is for.

  • @jamieab4

    Set to auto. That tightens to contact then adjust torque with wrench. With removal, auto loosens till it breaks away and then stops so nuts don’t go flying off. Not that critical.
    Setting 1,2 and 3 only adjust speed not power.

    I use my p261 all the time and it’s great. I have no complaints at all. That being said I would love to buy the p262 but then the p261 is useless. They should have a buy back program or something

    • @joemcleod7173
      @joemcleod7173  3 роки тому +1

      That would be really cool to have a buy back program! Loyalty to brand. If they don't want the old tool maybe an automatic 25% or 35% from purchase by from old receipt? 🤔

    • @madpogue
      @madpogue 6 місяців тому

      Instead of "buy back", "pay forward" - donate your old tools to a local charity.

    ...chrome sockets with an impact, i didn't even finished the video!

    • @joemcleod7173
      @joemcleod7173  3 роки тому

      That's okay if you didn't finish the video. But I did mention in the video that I would not recommend regular sockets and to go with impact sockets. Impact sockets hit harder but this is just a general reference video about the tool itself. Nothing scientific

      @@joemcleod7173 ...well,back in '82 when i was very young i used to work in aTransmision shop,basically an apprentice; i needed to remove a crossmember that supported the tranny on this Buick,the bolts were 11/16 but i didn't have the impact socket to remove them,instead i used a chrome deep well Crafstman socket with my trusty venerable CP 734 impact wrench;long story short,after a few bursts the socket shattered in every direction...good thing i was wearing impact goggles...lesson learned!

    Way too tight. Most lug nuts are supposed to be 80-100 max.

      @joemcleod7173  3 роки тому +2

      Thanks for the concern. I'm just going by what the recommended Ford specs for a 3/4 ton van that model year. 140 foot pounds but I understand most cars and light trucks that is too tight

      But I do agree on the Ryobi P262 impact wrench. When I tightened the lugs with that tool, I left it on too tight.

    The wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord 🙏
    Romans 6:23
    You have sinned against God by breaking his laws and commands and a just God will demand a punishment for evil but because he is rich in mercies and full of grace he has offered you a chance out of eternal damnation through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ the lamb who was slain to cover the sin of the world , repent and turn from your sins and realize your transgressions go to Jesus and beg for his forgiveness he will not turn you away
