Hello Anna, You've spoken all the valid points. One point I would add is to consider: - Commute times. - Any change is purchasing power (especially if you'll be moving countries or to bigger cities). - Any additional work hours (would affect effective hourly rate of your salary). when comparing compensation between job offers. I've seen a lot of people mistake higher amount to be better, without taking local purchasing power, taxes into account. In the end, a package offering 10k more might come out to be less than or equivalent to existing package if we factor in the cost of living. This problem is exacerbated when you factor in cumulative effects of taxes on cost of living adjusted salary (especially in a country like Ireland where you pay Scandinavian taxes for not so Scandinavian returns), as you get taxed on the sheer amount you earn. Making somebody living in a city like Dublin worse off than their PPP equivalent counterparts in cheaper places. A lot of countries fix the this by adding a big city allowance to their taxation system to account for this. Your grandmother is a smart lady, it's rare of have such level of self awareness and acceptance of own mistakes in old folks. Thanks for the video! 👍🏼
Always try to go for good companies that offer equity as part of the compensation plan. Over time whatever you make from equities will eclipse your salary.
unfortunately not all companies match salaries. I've seen people leave for 500 eur more per year. it probably depends on the job you do. one where basically everyone can replace you the company won't match anything.
Hi Anna, An interesting and informative video about career tips. I sincerely appreciate your support and it is truly helpful to all learners and job seekers. Best wishes. Thank you,

True! Have heard about these kind situations as well. Probably this works when a person is hard to replace at a more senior level in the company.
