All I can say is that you just have to respect a bands ability to be versatile in venturing into other styles. You don’t have to like these other ventures, but as musicians sometimes they want to do something different.
I am so glad they did this, got it out of their systems, and they are now playing the music they love and are really good at. The last 3 PL albums are phenomenal
From my point of view what they did the last albums is not everyting they love. We are doing music ourselfes, but what we do is not everything we like to listen to. Musical Influences are important. Cheers. Stay healthy
Paradise Lost is one of my favorite bands from any genre, and after reading most of the comments I have to say that I personaly can't understand why people put themselves into boxes even in the case of this unique band. And not only those that are supposed to be closed minded, but also the others who are all about giving priority to musicality and composition ect. People from the second "group" tend to exaggerate just because they have got tired and annoyed by the "purists". Almost everyone seems to forget that this is MUSIC at the end of the day. We all might have different opinions about what we like most of them or not, however imho everyone should give a chance to listening to an album with open ears and open mind before deciding. Personally I acknowledge that this is a well written song that takes more effort to be composed, however it's just a matter of taste and prefences. The difficulty of a composition it's not one of the first criteria for me when it comes to music, of course it's something strong, but not stronger than the feeling that the song finally gives to someone. This era of Paradise Lost is my least favorite, because I just don't like the vibe it brings out so much. Simple as that. Their music is always well written and beyond, still I believe that Medusa is the most generic and "uninspired" and each one of the other albums has special things to give. I also disagree that the rest of the last albums are boring, esp Obsidian is probably the best album after In Requiem era. Cheers to everyone, stay save and free
Absolutely, I am with you. Well said mate. One person likes this, one likes that and that is fine. My favorites are all from different periods of the band, this fader is a favorite same as true belief is another one. If talking about me saying "boring"...It is not my intention to offend someone and I never said they aren't fine musicians. Maybe it is just that vibe thing you mentioned, i don't feel anything listening the actual stuff. Thx for your nice comment. Stay healthy and stay like you are.
Great song by a great band..possibly the greatest band ever created. I'm glad they've changed their style multiple times over the course of their career thus far. The changes in music style have given me much to listen to and little to be bored by. Paradise Lost, the greatest band ever formed. 🤘🏿

In all honesty, to me it is the opposite way. I was die hard til Faith divides us was released, from there on i was bored more and more and more. But i agree, Paradise Lost as the Album it was including all B-Sides, is what i call zenith. But Taste is different and that is one important thing, or the most important thing.
@@jannyegaxherd9376 Surely not all things after self titled album I would consider outstanding, but even despite some repetitiveness in their songs after releasing so many albums, I prefer their converting back to doom/gothic metal roots (with growls and heavy riffs) than weird electronic driven stuff on Host or Believe in Nothing which simply bores me.
