Thirty-odd years before Brexit and our Billy NAILED IT
Theirs is a land with a wall all around it.....
Sweet moderation, heart of this nation, desert us not........
The best political song of modern times by a country mile. This still gives me goosebumps after all these years. I remember the confused look on the audience when he played this on TOTP on its release. I reckon most would now recognise it's still-relevance. Beautiful and powerful song.
Stll makes me well up
Lyrics still ring true after all these years, failed by politicians again and again…
so ask yourself what is a politicians job really we need to wake up
keep us going bhoy. United we STAND
Thank You . . . 1 Eye . . .
A brilliant song, guitar playing by a very talented singer, guitar player and song writer. WELL DONE Billy Bragg. A pop singles charter March 1985. I am not particularly a political guy but I think I get the message this classic song is about wishing for peace and a place for the workers who’ve worked hard and want to in order to earn a decent wage.
A real classic. I have recently created my own version as a PURE hobby ONLY.
Evidence, if it was needed, as to how to successfully transition from angry young man to respected folk troubadour. A truly great evenings entertainment.
This should be played on loop when people go to vote at the door
Class night x
Should be the Labour Party's anthem. For anyone who doesn't know what the Labour Party stands for, it's this -or at least it should be.
Billy Bragg, right up there with Woody Guthrie. THIS MACHINE KILLS FACISTS
