In SoCal, love a gorgeous fountain grass, agave foxtail, and blue finger succulents on a rock garden with a water fountain pump falling into rocks.. low maintenance, beauty, and graceful.
Thank you so much! I’ve been wanting to find a really good video on ornamental grasses as I’m trying to plan something for by 40x60” garden bed in front of our stoop front 3 story townhome. We live in Zone 6b and Id like to use something that gives winter interest that won’t get larger than 6’ tall and will stay a bit more narrow (2-2.5’) so that I can plant a few annuals in front of it. Any suggestions? I was thinking of planting some aliums and dwarf hydrangeas in front to start with in the spring and switch in fall season to cabbage and coleus and maybe some lime sedum.

Allen Clark I live in zone 6a I've had Ravenna grasses for bout 5 years it's fairly cold tolerant but this year in February I cut all of my grasses when we had a warm spell. Now that everything is coming back I realized that 2 of the 6 Ravenna are dead cuz I cut them before the cold of winter was completely over. Hopefully you haven't made the same mistake and tho I know more than I need to know bout plants I have no idea what the purple plant was I like it too! It may be a salvia or a veronica?
