Fixing Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) on an M1 MacBook or other Apple Silicon

  • For those testing UE5 on an M1 Mac, here's how you get around the old UE4 display bug. This fix also works on UE4.
    Normally this bug will make the render reds or greens out of order. Switching to iOS Preview Mode will fix it.

    Not sure if it helps but I fixed it installing mono and didn´t have to use ios rendering, so i can build lights without problems using metal

      First i installed xcode then I opened and updated it
      Then I installed Mono
      Then I installed Unreal Engine and it started compiling shaders, that also fixed the problems I had creating materials

    can you make a video on how to enable the modelling mode on the Mac m1, I enabled the "Modeling Tools Editor Mode" plugin but it does nothing

    Hi! Thank you for the fix. Does Lumen work on your Mac? On mine the ceck box its grey and it can't be activated.

    I can’t get quixel texture brushes to work with the sculpting alpha brush drop down. Just curious if I’m the only one. I can select the default brushes but not the import quixel brushes
