I just watched about 20 minutes of this on cable and I laughed and laughed and laughed! If they are gonna deviate from the original script so much they really should give it a different title. I have read enough history books to know that there were no white outlaws of the 19th century that would allow a black man to lead them (and I am not white.) That is BS #1. Now, for the Academy Award for Most Pretentious Politically Correct Casting...ok, a chick, an Oriental, a Black, an Injun and a couple of token white guys. Gimme oxygen please, Hollywood!
This movie was great. Not having seen the original I didn't know what to expect. All I knew was that there was a larger than life bad guy and 7 dudes that stepped up to take him on. It was action packed, gritty, comedic, and in some cases suspenseful. Granted, in some situations there was predictability, but that didn't take away from the plot line at all. Very entertaining movie. Great cast. Funny dialogue amongst the 7 cowboys. Fitting ending. Would recommend to any action film fans.
*Clint Eastwood - Father* *Hugh Jackman - Eldest son* *Chris Pratt - 2nd son* *Scott Eastwood - Youngest son* I know that only Scott Eastwood who's the real son, but I think they all should play in another cowboy movie together as a family.
I didn't have high expectations about this movie. It seems that westerns these days aren't very good for the most part compared to the classics from the 60's and 70's...especially when it's a remake like this one. I am *so glad* gave this a shot. It is hands down one of the best movies I've seen in a very long time. As a huge fan of westerns overall, I would honestly say this one ranks up there with some of the best....and dare I say, better than the original! Well done!!!
Schindlers fist go watch the dollars trilogy with Clint Eastwood a lot of elements in red dead are borrowed from movies such as the good the bad and the ugly.
No...First see every other cowboy movie and then watch the Dollars trilogy...if you start with it every other movie will be little disappointing compared to those 3 masterpieces.

I just watched this magnificent movie about these seven badass heroes. A classic western story but what I liked the most was the story about the traumatic syndromes all of them in one way or another were suffering from. Its not easy being a gunfighter, a healthy part of you´ll die if you kill another person - the nightmares will hunt you very night. The only way to keep on going is not to lay down, you´ll have to keep on fighting for something - otherwise you´ll loose focus. Even if you are magnificent - its hard to bee a hero - its no picknick to be badass...
A great story line, unique character persona's, excellent cinematography with impressive sound so that you can feel the bullets. It's like the westerns I grew up with only in colour and sound quality that all good westerns deserve. In my humble opinion, this ranks way up there with Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns. My 12yo son loved it and is now able to understand why I loved Westerns as a kid. I don't care that there is an original version and yes I remember it and love it. But thanks for the blanket attempt.
Yes, people with taste and not comparing it to the original, the original cast played in westerns and westerns was the thing in the 1960, so making one was easy to do,
having just watched it can't disagree more. Some much wrong so I'll just say 2 things. 1) why would anyone keep fighting for someone who is soothing them, let alone hired guns. I mean how much was he paying them? 2) when all of your 200 hired guns get killed why would you go into the town?
ive seen this movie, honestly one of the best movies ive seen ! excellent remake of the classic ! i will certainly be watching it again and definitely recommend it to those who havent seen it yet.
Often when there is a remake and you are a fan of the original, one cringes at how bad the movie might be. In this case, however, the movie matches and even surpasses the original and keeps you glued to your seat until the very end. the score is so fantastic that when the credits roll you still can't leave your seat. Truly MAGNIFICENT : )
I got the chance to play the string bass part with the first professional orchestra to perform it after Elmer Bernstein finally let out the rights to it. It was a fun song to play and it was a great experience for a side-by-side with an orchestra.
It will have the last score ever composed by the great James Horner. I feel confident it will certainly have that Bernstein feel to it. And it will be glorious.
At 1:33 Chris Pratt looks like he wants to leave but knows that isn't an option and just bites the bullet. It cracked me up when he said, Oh great now we have a Mexican, lol.
For those who are wondering, the song in the trailer is two songs fused together, one is Dangerous by Royal Deluxe, and the other is Ready 4 War by KO the Legend.
going back to watch the original with Charles Bronson, James Coburn, Steve McQueen, Whit Bissell, Yul Brynner, Robert Vaughn, Horst Buchholz, John A. Alonzo, Rico Alaniz, Henry Amargo and others
If the hip hop is such an issue, then enjoy the international trailer. Do not hate the movie because some loser in marketing wants to appeal to a demographic.
Marcus Velez I don't care about the hip-hop trailer. Django's was awesome and this one is good, sure. It's just that it's obvious they are lacking originality
Actually I heard that Akira Kurosawa was impressed there was an American adaptation of his movie, which went well, that he gave the director or someone else a freakin sword.
I've seen "The Magnificent Seven," the 2016 version based from the original "Seven Samurai" & the first original one in the 1960's, and it was a really good. It's actually a much a better version than the 60's which stands out good, but they updated a little better. I enjoy the new cast and they look entertaining. Denzel Washington is clever as the leader of Seven outlaws and he's such a history. I would only take him as a clever actor than Will Smith any day. Chris Pratt is the best second man ever and he's charming and very badass at the same time. So does the rest and they did their roles good. The action scenes were fun, entertaining, and so much action that it is generic, but a good Western style like most films that are spaghetti western films. Overall, entertaining film ever. Seven Samurai: A classic film ever by Kurosawa. The Magnificent Seven 60's: A good remake. The Magnificent Seven 10's: A very well done remake.
I didn't know about denzel being in it until yesterday. When I did I knew that I was going to enjoy it. When I saw he was the lead character it made it even better. I'd love to see him in a second one
I don't much care for Denzel is this... somehow he just doesn't seem to put a lot into his role. He doesn't fit. Technically Chris Pratt really doesn't either.. too much of his typical personality comes through. Good movie but nothing like the original.. then again.. that's when Western movies were AWESOME and very popular. SO many great names.. Yul Brenner was fantastic. I think Denzel is suppose to be sort of Yul's part ..doesn't fit.
For those who don't know, the original Magnificent 7 television show was based on the Japanese movie Seven Samurai. This Magnificent 7 movie was based on the 2010 Japanese movie 13 Assassins. There's lots of American movies that are based on Asian movies like The Departed based on the Chinese movie Infernal Affairs. The Ring based on the Japanese movie Ringu. The Grudge based on the Japanese movie Ju-On. The Eye based on the Chinese movie The Eye or Jian Gui. And so many others. I'm a huge fan of Asian cinema so there's lots of American movies borrowed from Asian directors.
Man! With all that updated diversity among the seven, I'm sorely disappointed that the producers failed to include a lesbian and a paraplegic gunfighter. :))
MyAb111 I am perfectly aware that the west was ethnically diverse and have no particular objections to a more diverse "Magnificent Seven." BTW, the original Magnificent Seven WAS diverse, being loaded with Mexicans. :)) On the other hand, featuring a German (Horst Bucholz) with a pronounced GERMAN accent, portraying play a Mexican, WAS supremely cringe-worthy.

Gotta love Chris Pratt and his knack for big-screen banter.
I'd like to see an extended, R rated version of magnificent seven!! That would be dope!!!
My god, Ridiculous 6, Magnificent 7, Hateful 8. Where's my Benign 9?
coming soon to theaters near you lol
don't forget Ben 10
Ben 10 isn't a western
He can morph into one.
BINGO!
This needs to have the Elmer Bernstein theme song.
Hel-lo.
Dang you're ignorant

At 1:33 Chris Pratt looks like he wants to leave but knows that isn't an option and just bites the bullet. It cracked me up when he said, Oh great now we have a Mexican, lol.
Just watched, pretty good and never had a boring scene.
Oh yeah Burt Macklin the FBI agent he's my favorite
best comment ever lol
Burt macklins descendant
This is his grandpa, Bart Macklin the Pinkerton agent
Hector Arredondo ancestor*
0:30 "Haha, found ya Lenny!"
This was a MASTER PIECE!!!
Good all times so dam well remade and covered :)
this is literally my most favorite movie
Nearly 2020 and I never even heard of this movie until now. Thanks UA-cam! 👍🏼
Django: Unchained + Hateful 8
It even has the hip-hop trailer from Django
Don't expect more than a bunch of shots and explosions
If the hip hop is such an issue, then enjoy the international trailer. Do not hate the movie because some loser in marketing wants to appeal to a demographic.
Marcus Velez I don't care about the hip-hop trailer. Django's was awesome and this one is good, sure. It's just that it's obvious they are lacking originality
Of course they're lacking in originality. This is a remake of a 1954 film called Seven Samurai.
Actually it's a remake of the 1960 version of The Magnificent Seven, which was a westernized version of Seven Samurai.
You're trying to be technically correct, but we're referencing the same source material, man.
I'm usually not into the Western movie genre but I thought this was really well done
Marcelo Saunders did you enjoy it? I'm think of watching it
+Geordie yeah. I liked it a lot. I think you'll like it too.
Seen this twice now and it is FANTASTIC!
Epic version of the good, the bad, and the ugly + expendables. 👍👍👍
I suggest everyone watch the 1960 version....
Magnificent seven was a direct ripoff of Akira Kurosawa's Seven samurai. A classic!
Actually I heard that Akira Kurosawa was impressed there was an American adaptation of his movie, which went well, that he gave the director or someone else a freakin sword.
i suggest people watch what they want to watch
I suggest that people can suggest suggestions.
I suggest people watch both. Both great in their own ways! :)
And don't forget the "A Bugs's Life" is a pretty good film that refers to these three classics.
LOL so long since I saw A bug's life, thought you were kidding but the description fits.
" Oh we got a Mexican" hahahahaha
I’m Mexican and I approve this message 🇲🇽
Antoine Fuqua... The name is enough ❤❤
"We work for her."
"Good Lord."
"That's right."
Died. Lololololololol.
One of the best movies ever made
The greatest movie in 2016 so far
This movie is underrated.
I miss movies like this. Last I saw and loved was Django Unchained.
Amazing movie, watched it last night. One of my faves now.
0:49 Dayumm....
she's a hottie for sure
and that is why I hate men.
kissitoxo Just get off the internet.
hating someone for a compliment is pathetic
I love women BOOBS
They should make a sequel, great film.
Just watched Rebel Moon: Child of Fire. Personally I liked it, but kept thinking it was The Magnificent Seven… in space.
And that had already been done - Battle Beyond the Stars
Closest thing to a RDR2 movie we got boys
No... The Wild Bunch (1969) is the closest thing to RDR2
Wrong
@@olivermetcalfe9731 cool
Best casting ever .... make a number 2
This film was badass
Bad has it covered
The entire movie in one trailer...goodness me...
I have seen the film and I can 100% say that the trailer does not show the entire film.
Is it good?
Saw it today, amazing movie
Movie was balls to wall, BADASSSSSS
I loved this movie but the ending was sad 😢
I knew they were gonna die cuz of the original.
No the ending was Magnificent that's what they say
Have yoh watched the original one
Rdr2 vibe anyone? 🧨⚔🚬
Ann Omar number one
+Fernando Paulo I rather liked the Coen Brothers' "True Grit." I'm also a big fan of "Hell or High Water," which is a modern-day western.
Fernando Paulo yep! Definitely in the top five of all time.
Nightshade I'm not a fan of Mr. Tarrantino's ouvre. I'll say no more.
MyAb111 I am perfectly aware that the west was ethnically diverse and have no particular objections to a more diverse "Magnificent Seven." BTW, the original Magnificent Seven WAS diverse, being loaded with Mexicans. :)) On the other hand, featuring a German (Horst Bucholz) with a pronounced GERMAN accent, portraying play a Mexican, WAS supremely cringe-worthy.
chris jones It was a joke, doofus.
