Now Filipino viewers here are very confused. The song is an old time favorite in the Philippines and the two singers looked like them. However, the singers are Mizos from northeast India. The singers don't resemble the normal indian because their region that includes Mizoram was integrated by the British with greater India. The people in that area looked similar with burmese, thais, filipinos, malays, indonesians or most of southeast asian people. Mizos are good singers and filipinos really recognized and very appreciative of these singers who performed their favorite song. I think the majority of viewers here are from the Philippines.

I am glad that a foreign singer like Zualbawihi gave importance to our Tagalog song, "IKAW". She may not sang it 💯%, but it's PERFECTLY alright for a foreign singer like her.🥰
Their physical features looks very similar with the Cordillera people in the northern Philippines. Even the male singer has a voice that is very similar with Joel Tingbaoen, the famous singer from the mountain provinces. Their diction and pronunciation are much like the people from these areas. There's not much difference how the western style bands in Baguio performs. It's very interesting to note that they are from Mizoram in Northeast India and very few Filipinos and even SE Asians knew about the ancient history and culture of the Mizoram people. Anyway, music can unite different people in the world. So let's just appreciate and congratulate them for having more than 30 million views and enjoy this all-time favorite song of the Filipinos.
Ohhhhh thanks very much for praising us like this,we really dont desreve it,thanks to all other SE asia countries,we love Filipino film series very much in Mizoram
One of the reasons why this video reached 1 million views is because of my grandson Jack. Since day one he was born I already used this as my lullaby to him. Everytime any of us put him to sleep we used this video/music. In one day maybe we used this hundred times because we have to repeat this so many times so he will go to sleep. He is now a 4-year old Half Caucasian half Filipino and can even sing the whole song with perfect melody because he even memorize the lyrics. Four years ago, this was the only DUNGDUNGWEN KAN TO video found in You Tube but now I noticed that a lot of videos with the same title came out. Apayen kakabsat, baka ti ammo yo ket adu agbuybuya. Sikami manggamgamit pangpaturog dyay apok. Thank you for this video anyway, because in 4 years it always put my grandson to sleep everytime we play this.
Ugh! Omg! Exactly same! I never thought i came across this comment! I played this song everytime i put my son to sleep too! He is now 5yrs old! And i still playing this song for my second! He is 6months ! Seriously!😆☺️
Lalchhanchhuaha you did a great Conway in this song. He is enjoying this from heaven. Zualbawihi your soft voice works so well for this song. It emotes that sensitive feeling this song was written for. Have a Blessed Day.

The Mizos, who inhabit the State of Mizoram in NE India, are known for their love of music, like most other people from the NE. They are hard working people and also love to have a good time. They are known for their prowess in football and boxing. They do resemble people from SE Asia as their State borders Myanmar, and are geographically closer to SE Asia then they are to Western part of India. Hope this clears all confusion.

This song was written by Conway Twitty and was originally recorded by Conway and his daughter Joni and released in 1975. I love this song by Conway and Joni and I think it is one of the most beautiful (and sad) songs Conway has recorded but I LOVED it by the two of you as well. The young lady who sings Joni's part has such a pure and beautiful voice (as did Joni Twitty) and the man's voice was right up there on a par with Conway himself. I just found this and I have been playing it over and over. You did a magnificent job. Conway would be proud of this great cover. I subscribed and I'm hoping to find other great songs by the two of you.
I have heard this song from the 70's countless times it was huge for Conway Twitty and his daughter. I am not joking you two did it justice thanks again from Canada.
Thanks to our Filipino friends for liking this amazing song. By the way the capital of Mizoram North East India called Aizawl is just like Baguio in Philippines.

Listened to this a LOT over the past six months and also the many versions and the original by Conrad Twitty. I can honestly say this is simply the BEST version. The pure voice of 'Joni' and the deep notes of 'Jimmy' are pure bliss. Keep singing and stay safe xx
yea i am a filipino in my 72, during my teen days this song is our favorite, it has story of love of young and old and failed, a drama we filipino love it.
Wonderful voices, fab singers, and beautiful people. God bless you both and God bless Mizoram, a lovely Mountain State at the foothills of the Himalayas. They are both from there. Give us more songs please. Lalchhanchhuaha did you know that you got 15 million views because the lady Zualbawihi led the singing first. Just joking. Both of you are so charming and good.
I was a big fan of this song in 1976. Now I must say both these wonderful singers have sung very well. Thank to both of you. Would love to hear sing some old english songs of the 70 s.

An excellent rendition that definitely does honor to the Conway Twitty's original! What a perfect blending of voices! And what an excellent sound! I would never have thought that Mizoram in Northeast India could produce such beautiful voices. Never heard of that place before! Glad I've heard now.
Thumbs up for the girl who has a sweet voice and the man with a golden voice. They almost sound like the real Conway Twitty and Joni. Thanks for this version.

My all time favorite song" Joni, Joni" ..I had sang this a hundred times in videokaraoke since I was a kid... Both my families and relatives loved this oldest Song... Wow!!! such a great job guys I thought you were a filipino singers... Thumbs up and congrats 💞💕

Now I am hearing it after such a long time.
The Magic is still there.
Really brings back old memories. Thank you very much.
What a good voice blending ! that is my favorite songs when i was a teenager way back on 1976 They look like Filipinos, their physical appearance is the same as Filipinos as well as their voice, maybe they are our distance relatives... hahhaha conratz !!! From the beautiful country Philippines!!!
Jimmy please say you'll wait for me
I'll grow up someday you'll see
Saving all my kisses just for you
Signed with love
forever true
Joni was the girl who lived next door
I've known her I guess 10 years or more
Joni wrote me a note one day
And this is what she had to say
Jimmy please say you'll wait for me
I'll grow up someday you'll see
Saving all my kisses just for you
Signed with love
forever true
Slowly I read her note once more
Then I went over to the house next door
Her tear drops fell like rain that day
When I told Joni what I had to say
Joni, Joni please don't cry
You'll forget me by and by
You're just fifteen
I'm twenty two
And Joni I just cant wait for you
Soon I left our little home town
Got me a job and tried to settle down
But these words kept haunting my memory
The words that Joni said to me
Jimmy please say you'll wait for me
I'll grow up some day you'll see
Saving all my kisses just for you
Signed with love
forever true
I packed my clothes
And I caught a plane
I had to see Joni
I had to explain
How my heart was filled
With her memory
And ask my Joni if she'd marry me
I ran all the way
To the house next door
But things weren't like they were before
My tear drops fell like rain that day
When I heard what Joni had to say
Jimmy, Jimmy please don't cry
You'll forget me by and by
It's been five years since you've been gone
Jimmy I married your best friend John
Very nice
Huhu..sad ending
Nice song but the ending is sad. Pati sa kanta my gantihan tlga, ksalanan dn kc ni jimmy, pinakawalan nya pa.🤣😁🤣😁
lol...karma.
thanks for your lyrics,, i thought Joni will love Jimmy very much even she married his friend, i feel very pity for her😭

I watch them sing everyday & sing along. My fav song which I often sing in duet with colleagues during year end xmas parties. I luv this pair, she's beautiful, he's handsome. Both sing very well, full of feelings especially when he looks at her. I tear up when singing. Thanks for singing so beautifully well
You two are really a good pair of singers singing this beautiful song. Girl has a clear voice and very beautiful. Boy got a very sexy male voice which completely sing to the bottom of anyone's heart. Very well, very well. Must give support.

I am 70 yrs and still listening to your beautiful voice.
It's only a cover, nothing great, people like the song, not your singing.
