Love the veggie recipes and your community marmalade post, I LOVE marmalade, way to go Gemma ❤
Yep, you got it. And although they’re different names, of course they’re the same gods and goddesses - i.e., Freya is the Norse Goddess of love and beauty just as Venus is. (vendredi). It really ticks me off though that Friday the 13th is considered to be unlucky because of course it’s the only day of the week except Monday that’s ruled by a goddess rather than a god and a woman has 13 menstrual cycles in a year. And then they take the word lune (moon) and turn it into lunacy and lunatic. Seriously? I protest!
@@whitebirchtarot not to mention the origins of the word hysteria .... I comfort myself that 13 is not unlucky in Italy (they've allocated 17) and China (no. 4). Great comment as always!❤
@@EvelynBaron I didn’t know that about the numbers in the other countries! And yes, isn’t it crazy that they used to think that the womb traveled through a woman’s body wreaking havoc? (Luckily, no one has ever called me hysterical because I don’t think they would like my reaction. I once actually dumped an entire pan full of enchilada ingredients over my boyfriend’s head, thankfully it wasn’t hot yet, because he said, “you’re just like your mother.” Those are fighting words! 😁) Oh, my God. The things we have suffered. I’m telling you, though, if I would’ve lived back when they insisted that women wear corsets, I would have said no. I have enough trouble digesting my food as it is. I draw the line. 😊😡
Forced Rhubarb is where the plant is made to grow straight upwards rather than all over the Gaff. There are special pots you can use which are conical with an opening to allow light in and are about 18ins to 2ft in height. Some gardeners use old chimney pots. Basically it's so you get straight stems which are easier to work with. It's amazing what you learn on Bargain Hunt! 🤣

@@whitebirchtarot It's quite possible that Saturday is a reference to Saturn. Seems quite logical to me anyway 😊I think we have to take into account which religion, culture etc. were prevalent in different countries when names were given to the days of the week.
I'm in Tasmania Australia. Such a great time here for fruit:apricots, cherries, raspberries ( almost finished) . Dug up the potatoes and heaps of silver beet. Plums and figs too! Best year ever!
Lovely cards- also love the anticipation of a message from an oldie but a goodie❣️… The nails- either a soft or vibrant color but definitely with sparkles/glitter! Thinking a deeper purple or darker aquamarine with silvery sparkles🦋
Ah Gemma I love Aussie Masterchef too. The series with Georgia Billie Jessica Sara etc was my favourite and one of the funniest moments was Marco Pierre White continuously banging his spoon like an absolute maniac during a restaurant challenge and the Aussie cool bemusement. Sky blue base with glitter on nails would be fab!💅
Here in WA I have limes and mangoes. It's been so hot a lot of mangoes have come off the tree green, so I grate them and make a thai salad with limejuice, chilli etc. I think go mermaid with your nails. Thank you Gemma 💖 from Australia xx

Since it's what brought me here & since you are one of the first readers who gave me some very sage advice from Kim Kranz & others, i want to thank you for your hand in my recovery! Have you thought about dark blue? That's the nail color that came to me!❄️🚀🌷💕🎡
I’m very glad to be a hand in your recovery! I have a friend who had myasthenia gravis - he made a full recovery, but it was a big struggle to get there. Dark blue is a little outside my comfort zone but maybe that’s a good thing! 💅🏽❄️🌟🎈
Thor's Day! 🔨⚡Big fan of all those foods but have never knowingly eaten a turnip (much less cooked one). I'm very dull when comes to nail varnish: always a deep caramel brown with a gold sparkle hologram top coat! Superdrug Nails Inc "Hawaii Beach". And yep, another dream job (besides b'ground dancer and architect) is inventor of lipstick/nail varnish names.
I think you should paint your nails the colour of the night sky in the moon card you had on the table with little sparkles. Cozy/wintery for the season.
Hi Gemma - I can envision you with silver glitter nail polish, similar to your tablecloth. Someone suggested rainbow, too, and I thought what if each nail was a different color, in the sequence of a pastel, metallic, glittery rainbow? All good suggestions from viewers …looking forward to what you select! Enjoy and have fun!❤
Forced Rhubarb or forced anything is a plant that is " encoraged" to come to full ripeness/ full bloom out of season. It is usually but not always a plant grown in a greenhouse.
In other words, optimal growing conditions such as light and warmth especially, but also nutrients are given to the plants ( often fruits and flowers) to speed up and " force" the growing process.
Yes,for bulb plants such as Hyacinth,Daffodils, Narcississ. You put them in a dark closet and/ or cover with a paper bag to trick the plant into starting the growing process earlier than the regular season.
Thursday is associated with Jupiter which is the planet of expansion! So if you're doing any kind of magical workings it's a great day to work on expansion, success, calling in new opportunities, increase in wealth etc. :)
Inland Southern Australia here. There's not much edible in my garden atm. Tomatoes are growing but mostly not ripening because of the crazy weather. I could be harvesting nasturtium leaves, turmeric leaves, saltbush leaves, chives and garlic chives, if only I wanted to cook. More rhubarb than I know what to do with, though I put some in soup the other day like Mrs Crocombe taught me on the English Heritage channel. That was educational. My Jerusalem artichokes have ladybugs living in the leaf buds, but they're a few months off harvesting.
Really like the winter cards. All the foods you mentioned so good, they are good for you, Kale is very good for you, vitamin K antioxidants, a little iron,. Turnip delicious in stews, as long as one doesn't think of your descriptive smell of turnip Gemma. 😆 I hope you continue with the readings from the books. GOD BLESS ❤🙏
Great reading, Gemma,so I resonate with me as a Cancerian, who is dealing with another Cancerian, too. Ahhhh if you are looking for the most gorgeous glitter colour then I'd definitely go for the one I've got in the new year...rose gold glitter colour, it looks so rich and classy, perfect for water signs in January and when you move the rose gold about it does also look Champagne too. Definitely, rose gold is gorgeous before spring.
