You can rent Jeeps from Farabee's which is located at Furnace Creek (just across from Furnace Creek Lodge). That said, Titus Canyon is not technically challenging at all. Your only issue will be ground clearance. If there are any washouts, you may not have enough. If you get stuck, a tow is going to be extremely expensive. When I ran Titus 2 weeks ago, the entire run was suitable for a sedan with good tires with plenty of tread. No washouts anywhere. Be *sure* to have at least 1 full size spare
The benefit to you of renting a Jeep from Farabee is that you'll then be able to run pretty much all the trails while you're there. Death Valley is best experienced off the paved road.
Would this be too difficult in a sedan for, lets say, an above average driver? I'm driving cross-country this summer, but I don't know if I can rent anything with 4wd
