Love it! Both sound and video capture are most excellent 🚂💰!!! A dream come true for me to see them perform at GMBR Fest. Thanks Jay and team!!! 🎶💙🏔️🎶 🎧
First time hearing this tune, and recently converted to A.J. Lee & Blue Summit. Someone recommended them to me, since I was already a fan of Molly Tuttle. All I can say after that first listen is that I'm completely stunned and flabbergasted by the talent and virtuosity of the whole band. I don't know if this is a creation or the reprise from a traditional tune, but the orchestration and interpretation is amazing. I wish they were more internationally known, especially here in Europe because they really deserve it, as being so much more representatives for the North American musical culture than all the pop-rap and crap imported here.
This was written by John Dawson and released by the New Riders of the Purple Sage in 1971. NRPS began as a part-time spin-off from the Grateful Dead when Jerry Garcia (pedal steel guitar), Phil Lesh (bass) and Mickey Hart (drums) teamed up with John Dawson (guitar, vocals) and David Nelson (guitar).
@@rayreinhard1077 Wow! Many thanks for this detailed answer. I own and listen to some Grateful Dead records but I must say I'd never heard of that NRPS band before (I love the band's name 🤗).
A.J. has the second and third best guitarists in bluegrass. Love that they are now doing Jamgrass. Are they the best band in bluegrass? Well, they are my current favorite band in bluegrass.
Just watched the group at Club Passim in Cambridge Oct 9. They were terrific. Previously the group varied the bass player. The bass player with them from Asheville, NC was also terrific. I hope he is a permanent fixture.
Glendale Train -John Dawson CHORUS: [1]Somebody robbed the Glendale train this [4]morning at half past [1]nine. Somebody robbed the Glendale train, and I [2]swear I ain't [5]lyin'. Proud to say that I make a cameo appearrance at the end. I'll expect a check for 12¢ when video reaches a billion views.
What a beautiful song rendered by AJ Lee and her band mates, thanks to the uploader
