My favourite word is 'hiraeth' - it's a feeling of homesickness for a home to which you cannot return to, a home which maybe never was; the nostalgia, the yearning, the grief, for the lost places of your past. It represents missing the things that were once so prevalent in our lives, which I think all of us go through. And as always, great video Carrie! xxx
Hygge :) - It's a Danish word which has no direct translation into English but the closest you will get is 'cosy'. Hygge is a lot of things: it's drinking tea under a warm blanket during a snow storm, it's playing board games with your friends and family. It's that happy feeling that warms your heart and when you don't have the words, you can simply say 'hygge' :)
+ItsWayPastMyBedTime +sorvian25 OMG!!! This makes my heart so happy!! That was the greatest to hear! I worked at Dinosaur!! I'll be the one in the corner, losing it a bit for the Dinosaur love! 💚💚💚
My favourite word is happiness because it means feeling an emotion that is the equivalent of pure melted gold being poured over your heart and your heart absorbing it and the good thing is your videos make me very happy xxxx
My favorite word is: Fernweh (german) Literally it means "farsickness" or "longing for far-off places" which I think is a really important word and there should be one in every language!
SKADOOSH the word said when you perform the mushi finger hold, which is the act of holding one's finger with your pinkie held up, then bringing it down causing a fatal explosion destroying the victim with awesomness.
My favourite word of all time is "serendipity" not only because it sounds good to the ear but it means a happy accident and that is life's way of giving you a pick me up and I think that's wonderful
Favorite word is Spork, you should get one so you can eat your porridge, also a Swiss army knife so you can open your sweets and a small torch is always useful when you travel, have fun.

my favorite word it's "saudades" it is in Portuguese and it's basically a word/feeling we say when we're missing someone and I love it so much because it is unique there's no translation for any language but Portuguese
So sorry if this gets long! The fact that I'm coming to see you on tour in Sheffield and actually flying in from Spain for my 21st birthday is just unbelievable! There is not one single word that could sum up how happy I am right now as I'm going to get to re live my childhood memories of my first musical all these years later. plus the fact that I've watched you for so long now is just mind boggling. Carrie you're amazing and i wish you all the best of luck with everything! xxx
even though i only speak english, my favourite word is 'pas de deux' because i'm a dancer and it means 'a dance for two people, typically a man and a woman', and it's just so romantic :) i wish i could come see chitty but i live in NZ :( love you
One of my favourite words is 'Cwtch' it's in my native language, Welsh. there's no real English translation for it but the nearest meaning is an affectionate cuddle :) another favourite from my language is 'hiraeth' again no translation for it but some say it's like a homesickness to a place you can't return. like a memory sort of thing. I'm such a lover of words haha
Carrie! My favorite word (at the moment) is "holdfast," for so many reasons. As a poet, I like the mental image of literally 'holding fast'/'tightly' to a thing that is loved and valued or the act of anchoring or bracing oneself for what is to come. But I also love that this word has become a proper noun and a name throughout history just as much as an action or verb. It can mean anything from a part of a castle or fort, to a village in Worcestershire, to another name for 'Sellotape.' So I guess that's why I love it, Carrie: it combines the poetry of language--both in meaning and it the way it sounds when spoken--with the beautifully transitory nature of language itself, that, ironically, words are always changing and that their meanings are determined not by their age or place in a book, but by the people who use them.
Right so the new Doctor Who companion was announced so we know that's not happening any time soon, but that was definitely a Doctor Who font at the beginning. After your "truly" tweet, I'm spotting little references left right and centre, so even though that was probably just you using a font you like, I'd like to make this comment my official "I think Carrie's gonna be involved with Doctor Who in some way", purely for the purposes of it existing and me being able to say "I told you so" if the world gets blessed with that news in the future.
One of my favorite words is "dusk", since it reminds me of the feeling I get when I'm alone at home by that time. I keep all the lights off, sit by the balcony, get comfortable, and just appreciate the fact that I have the possibility to slow down from time to time. I get nostalgic, philosophical, and dreamy, and it just helps me clear my mind once in a while. All of that is contained in the plain simplicity of that word for me, and I like to use it as often as possible.
I'm partially fluent in American Sign Language, and my favorite sign is probably "exhausted". It looks like you have two handfuls of glitter or confetti and you're much too tired to hold on to them anymore so you open your fists and let your fingers flutter a little bit as the invisible glitter/confetti sort of trickles out.
My favourite word is "querencia" it's a Spanish word and the technical definition is a place where one's strength is drawn, where one feels at home; the place where you are your most authentic self. It also is the name for the part of a bullring where the bull takes its stand.... but that's not as pretty :P
My favourite word is 'serendipitous' because I just love how it rolls off the tongue at the end... it means to discover something by happy chance or in a beneficial way!
I love the word 'liefde', which is Dutch for 'love' :) Just because love is a beautiful thing and when it's said in my native language I adore it even more.
My favorite word is Rompetroll. It's an norwegian word for a baby toad. Directly translated it would litarlly be ass-trolls. Haha. I would capture them from little pouds and play with them when I was little. Love you Carrie!
English is my first and only fluent language but I take Italian in school my favorite word is la dita di piedi which mean toes in Italian but translates to the fingers of the feet in English which I find to be hilarious
Actually it's 'il dito (sing)/le dita (plur) dei piedi'. You were close 😂 however in italy we use the same word (dito) for both fingers and toes...indeed it's very difficult when we have to translate it in English, we always use fingers 😂
I don't feel like this is my favourite word but I really like the meaning. It's apapachar, which means in a very latin way, hug someone that you love with your entire soul. It is used as a verb and it's very common here in South America. By the way, love the pink suit, you look gorgeous! xx
One of my favourite words is "saudade", in Portuguese. It doesn't have an exact translation to English, but it's the feeling you get when you're longing for something/someone. So when you miss someone, you can say "Hey! Saudade!" :)
My favourite word is Pan. It represents so many things I love! The god of nature, my sexuality and of course Peter! I really want to get it tattoed someday as well!!! I hope you have a great run as Truly!!
My favorite word is 'Sky'. Very simple and maybe boring to some of you but for me it means so much. It makes me feel calm and happy at the same time and I feel like the sky is a place I can always get away to. There's always a way. If you feel sad, if you feel like you want to get away, if you'd rather be in a different place in this life... The sky is a way out. Even though it may not seem like you can't go there, you can. You can dream away, climb, fly, fight, go for it. I love it. Love your vlogs as well Carrie
Aww, the people you work with seem so kind and fun! I'm so glad you're loving the show!! My favorite word is anticipation. There's just something about the way it sounds, on the tip of your tongue.
My favorite word is sunshine! It just screams joy to me! Sometimes my friends say that I remind them of sunshine, and that is truly everything I want to be. The sunlight makes everything around it illuminated (which is another lovely word) and faithfully rises and sets everyday.
Catharsis is my favourite word, because I feel like the word has such a power within itself. I love how there's a word that means to bring emotional release from strong emotions. I especially love how its used in the context of the theater so much, as in how people go to observe plays and musicals because of the cathartic effect of watching someone else experience emotion. The same goes for books.
My ultimate favourite is petrichor - in simple terms it's the smell of rain, but it is officially defined as: "a pleasant smell that frequently accompanies the first rain after a long period of warm, dry weather". Also think lollopy is worth a mention. It is the name of one of my favourite childrens books, and means to move with a bobbing motion... if you don't understand, watch a clip of giraffes walking/running... they lollop. X
i was at the first ever show and didn't realise you were in it and i was honestly blown away by your performance! your voice is so much more incredible live than it is on video. I'd never actually seen chitty before, even the film and loved every second of the show and you guys dealt with the hiccups so well! congratulations on such an amazing first show as truly and i'm sure they'll be many many more :) x
one of my favorite words is "saudade". it's in portuguese and it means the feeling of missing something or someone, that nostalgic feeling. so you have saudade, and you feel saudade. it's usually not a bad feeling, and it's actually really sweet to say to someone that you feel that about them! love you carrie, hope you're well x
My favorite word by far is "gezellig" it's a Dutch adjective. It's often translated to English as "cosy" but it's so much more than that. Sure a cosy atmosphere can be described as "gezellig" but it's also the feeling of being around friends or family, people you just feel comfy with and you can have a great time with. "Gezellig" is a soft and fuzzy vibe it's..... You know what, "gezellig" is just Christmas in one word. That's the best explanation I can give you.
"Hygge" You're sitting outside maybe on a beach or a field full of flowers and grass; summer has just arrived. Your friends are all around you chatting and laughing, maybe someone's even brought a stereo and started playing your favorite tunes and you've all started to sing along. When the sun's been washed away and the evening's come someone has lit a fire and you are all just sitting there watching the stars in the sky starting to come out. You don't think you've ever been this happy before. That's hygge. Hygge comes in many shapes and forms, being alone and happy, being in good company and happy, but all in all, it's that feeling you get in a cozy and comfortable situation. It's all about just enjoying life and being happy.
My favourite word is 'gezellig', it's dutch and it's one of those words that can't be translated into 1 word. Well you could say 'cosy', but you can use it for a lot more than just the typical blanket, tea and fireplace vibe. You could say that a party is 'gezellig', or that a person is 'gezellig'. I'd say it quite fits you actually, you are 'gezellig' in every way :)
my favorite word is "saudade". Doesn't have a only-one-word in English, or any other language, with the same meaning but it's something like "missing someone or something". Sometimes people say *saudade* is a bad and painful feeling, but I think when you miss someone its because you love/loved them so much to care about their left. love u, Carrie 💕
One of my favorite words is ,Agape, which is the word to describe a kind of love that is completely selfless and self-sacrificing. I really appreciate the many different kind of words to describe love and this one just hits the nail on the head. I strive for agape and love because of agape.
I love that feeling when doing a show when the panic stops and you can just enjoy it! I played Wendy in summer community production of Peter Pan a few years ago and the first show was absolute chaos, but after that, I felt like I really was Wendy flying off to Neverland. It was the greatest feeling not having to worry about the sound not working, or set pieces falling over. :) I wish I could come see you in Chitty, but I'm in America. Good luck and break a leg!
I think my favorite word would have to be home. Whenever I read it or hear someone say it, the image of me with my family instantly comes into my head and makes me just so content. I think of where I grew up and made so many decisions that have changed me and shaped me into the person I am today just with the word home.
I like the word Halcyon, meaning a time in the past where everything was perfect and happy. It just reminds me that life isn't always terrible and stressful and there are wonderful things to look forward to. It's also the name of a mythical bird that calms the ocean winds and builds its nest upon the waves which is lovely :)
My favorite word is serendipity. It's super fun to say and it means finding or discovering something good or happy without looking for it, which just makes me happy inside :)
Oh my gosh, I love this show so much and from what I've seen this run looks amazing! I really wish I could come see it. Favorite word: Embrace. As I've gotten older and grown in my relationships with people, I've come to realize how important it is, when a person is worth it, to not only accept the things that make them different from me and that it would be easy to consider flaws, but to embrace them and the person they belong to. Also I'm just a cuddler.
My favourite word is ... Mum , which means my world & I'm very thankful for everything she's done/does for me , my son's, my hubby, my brothers & family = perfect x
Hello, Carrie! My favorite word at the moment is one that I recently learned. Pluviophile: a lover of rain, someone who finds joy and peace of mind on rainy days.
"Saudade", it's a Brazilian word that "was once described as "the love that remains" after someone is gone. Saudade is the recollection of feelings, experiences, places or events that once brought excitement, pleasure, well-being, which now triggers the senses and makes one live again. Meaning "I miss you", but carries a much stronger tone. In fact, one can have saudade of someone whom one is with, but have some feeling of loss towards the past or the future. It brings sad and happy feelings altogether, sadness for missing and happiness for having experienced the feeling."
I've got to say my favorite word is whimsical and it means peaceful, beautiful, and graceful which is something that I strive to me as a color guard performer!
My favorite word is the Frisian (2nd language of the Netherlands) word 'Donderdeldoekje' and literally translated it means 'Little cloth for falling down' or as you might know it 'parachute'. I love it so much because in dutch we use 'parachute' as a "translation", but the Frisians actually took the time to make the word their own by calling it 'little cloth for falling down'. It is just the best translation you can have, because it is a cloth to break your fall.
I do that I hate it when I am early for rehersal there is nobody there and your wandering round the theatre until you find another person and it's the most amazing thing ever
And as always, great video Carrie! xxx
"I just want some sweets" my life! x
Hygge :)
- It's a Danish word which has no direct translation into English but the closest you will get is 'cosy'. Hygge is a lot of things: it's drinking tea under a warm blanket during a snow storm, it's playing board games with your friends and family.

My favourite word is serendipity and the definition is-the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way
I think my favorite word would have to be home. Whenever I read it or hear someone say it, the image of me with my family instantly comes into my head and makes me just so content. I think of where I grew up and made so many decisions that have changed me and shaped me into the person I am today just with the word home.
Papillon - French for butterfly. It's just so pretty!

One of my favourite words is fluir which to me, means letting everything behind and just keep going
