Absolutely, the Holy Spirit is the key to encountering Jesus. Mushrooms are NOT the key to revelation from the Spirit. Take it from someone with experience. I used to believe the same thing “mushrooms are the key to understanding” it is all lies and deception. My proof is the book of Jude, 1 John, AND the book of Enoch (although not biblical canon, it speaks of fallen angels showing humanity plants to eat to gain wisdom)

you must be born again. The spirit of Jesus who lives in you will know the spirit in others. That is...what spirit they are of. That is why the bible tells us to try the spirit by the Spirit, which is the Word of God. For there are many spirits. But there is one Holy Spirit. You're under attack? That's right. The spirit of darkness can recognize what spirit you are of. But it is all authorized by God. There is nothing that we will encounter or not encounter in our human life that God is not in control of. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. We do not have to do anything when these trials come upon us. We need to know God's Word. Jesus said that His people perish for lack of knowledge, and that we would know the truth and the truth will set us free. It's done. It's won! The victory was established on the cross, permeated and seasoned in the grave and well-done, cooked just right--to perfection--when Jesus rose from the dead. Halleluiah!
