Michi has a family that practiced Black Magic. Ollie is a Preman(Indonesian Organized Crime/Mafia) Princess. Indonesia is so wild it makes the Vtuber lore seem normal

Shamanism is still very prominent in Indonesia, even when the country is Muslim majority. Some even start integrating it with Islamic faith to attract more people even when it's considered blasphemy.
And people who believe this kind of thing is isn't just some uneducated yokels. There's people who have master degree in science or medical and they still visit those shamans.
There are shamans for various things. Hate someone, use certain black magic to assassinate someone. want a man or woman? Use certain black magic to make that certain someone to fall in love with you. Want to succeed in college exam? Pay a shaman to do some ritual near the exam room building. Even people in my family used shaman's service too.

im from SEA and the black magic stuff is STILL being "done" / "practiced" to this day. i have relatives in my mother's side living deep in the provinces who got cursed and suffered weird ass illnesses, finding bugs and worms in their bodies etc. suddenly dying/getting sick. my grandma and her siblings atteibute it to black magic, saying someone is targeting our relatives and hired ppl (old and new gen) to do black magic(??) to them. the three relatives we have direct contact with who live in the cities (far from provinces) also experienced something similar and has talked about "being cursed".
the white magic/healer stuff I've also encountered. we've gone to this one really old lady who does massages and rituals to "heal" us and ward off the bad spirits and bad energy(??) that has latched on to us enough that it got us sick. we used to go to her before going to a doctor and do the things she instructed us to do (keeping candle waxes on our pouches, brushing ginger slices on body parts to draw a cross bc Jesus ig?? and then throwing it away, etc.) the old lady has retired now though (bless her soul)

If someone knows your exact date and time of birth, they can use that information to put a curse on you. Idk if it’s related to magic stuff or if it’s just a superstition but like in China you apparently can find specific people who know how to curse others with their birthday it’s crazy

      - army veteran, EOD course from the 1960s
      - got out, specialized in underwater demolition and dismantling at the shipyards, one of the first in Italy to acquire certification to use the underwater oxy cutting torch
      - when a merchant ship marooned on the shallows near town (attempted insurance fraud), him and some buddy went to someone who had explosives and planned to remove the brass propeller hub to salvage and resell (those things are solid brass, worth a lot). The same evening company called him in to legally dismantle the ship
      - got drunk and accidentally almost joined a far-right-wing anti-communist stay-behind movement (the 70s in Italy were a crazy time)
      - owned a Guianan Squirrel Monkey as pet.
      - the house he lived after getting out of the army but before moving into our current home was haunted. The spirit in question was seen by his younger sister aka my aunt, which confirmed. The spirit is also the reason as to why he didn't have a pet monkey anymore
      - he met my mom, a nurse, in the hospital while he was diagnosed with salmonella, which he got from diving into contaminated waters while doing demolitions in the dockyard.

I can vouch for this, because many people in ID have an ancestry from either shamans, medicine man, witch doctors, hell, some even a descendant of some powerful bloodline of those kind of thing, while it is true that some inherit their ability to curse, heal, strengthen, weaken, and even redirect the curse back to it's caster or the client of the said caster, most of this descendants only inherit their ability to 'sense things' (at least, the ones that I've met). And yes, the whole breaking the cycle thing is real, some people don't want that kind of thing happen to their children, while others just want those 'powers' to live on, mind you, both choice have a hefty price to pay, sometimes in blood, sometimes in sacrifice.
Speaking of 'gifted', there is this superstition in Indonesia that said "In each family, only one of you will be 'gifted'", so in a nutshell, one of your family member will be able to sense and even communicate with 'them', some even have been 'gifted' with precognition and tracing the past event of a certain place (either that, or it's ADHD or something else)

    • @kos2919
      @kos2919 Місяць тому +3

You know the descendant thing can be wild in accuracy right? there's this big ethnics conflict in Indonesia that basically turn from physical battle into straight mystical war. there is a famous story of soldiers hiding people from a certain ethnic group involved in the war in the back of a truck and covering these people with tarpaulins and also their bags for evacuation, they were stopped by several groups of people to be checked but were left alone when they saw the army uniforms. a few meters later after the truck was moving, blood dripped from under the tarpaulin and when it was opened, the people the soldiers were hiding were already in a beheaded condition.

This is really common in Indonesia and Malaysia. Less so in Malaysia because we got a heavy islamic presence which sort of stamped it out. But it's still around underground. But it's definitely more intense in Indonesia. In fact in my family we have the guardian spirit thing too. It's a spirit tiger. It sometimes appeares with an elder of the family from a hundred years ago who wears a white robe. They usually appear to bring omens or warnings.

There’s a lore about the Dayak people who live deep inside the forests of Borneo. Their leader, known as pangkalima or panglima burung (directly translated to English as "Bird Army General"), is said to possess the ability to make a machete fly by itself to find its target, like a homing decapitator.
They became well-known during the ethnic conflict that occurred in City of Sambas, West Borneo in 1999.
I heard this story from refugees who flocked into my province, South Borneo during that dark period.

The vision does happened but i have 0 context for the vision so it's really hard to understand what im seeing at the time (especially since i was a kid) i usually only understood the context moments before it happened out of all of them there only like one or two i understand and reacted to. The rest is just a moments or place i never been to until i got there.

The belief of planet Earth having a spiritual power within itself that destines and affects the population has been an INTEGRAL part to the history of the entire human race, it is something that should be thought of, regardless if you want to believe in such or not.
