@@crustycatfish thanks for the info! I went digging a bit further and one possibility (although just my speculation) is that in English language, 'dubs' is short for 'double V', so short for W. In NBA, the fans of Warriors keep calling their team the dubs. And since Jeron's last name is Wilson, it maybe comes from there as well :)
been watching the show since the beginning, not that it was getting stale but Jeron was such a breath of fresh air and welcome addition to the 9 club family. Got his Blabac photo signed and hung on the wall!
It’s rare to see someone who’s both extremely talented at something and also humble about it. Jeron’s parts were always a blast to watch and still are today
Mr. Wilson's name showed on UA-cam and I stopped my agenda and then I pressed play. I'm a fan so that's the simple version of my thoughts. Give him his flowers. -J.T
“just doing basic tricks and showing how you skate is dope” that’s a really great point and not something i’ve thought about much when it comes to video parts
Huge Jeron fan - great to hear his insight on this part, used to watch this religiously growing up. Bumped into him at Porto's in the valley and had to pay my respects, absolute legend!
Love to hear OGs talk about how they filmed a part gives me insight and a comparison on how I film my parts , given I’m not a pro or anything but every skater has the same passion. Shout out W’s real OG !
Damn dude.. rad too see this... late 80's/early 90's 818 flashbacks... sluggin around at Val Surf and 118 and tearin up every sidewalk, parking lot, and high school from Van Nuys, Northride, Simi, Woodland Hills, Sherman oaks,..everywhere... miss those days..
Got to go to this premiere at the Arclight, what a fun night. By the time this video dropped I had already gotten broke on rails and stairs and seeing Jeron skate these unique spots with flair was eye opening.
can i say i REALLY like these skaters reviewing their part things and it should be a full time series and start including dudes not associated with nine club after your run thru them. Eldy next!!!
I worked at a skate/surf shop during the release of this, Circa It's Time, etc etc.. can't recall how many times I had watched those 2 specific videos.. amazing times.
Lol, Jeron showing his age calling it "heelflip shuv". Lol, Nothing but love, Jeron. Love your part, and the whole video honestly. The best intros of any skate video ever.
Jeron is so sick. This part killed it the song was perfect. I wanna say he was one of the few skatin the flat gaps or quick bumps over something. You gotta be hauling ass and to commit is another task after gettin over. Another one to the 3 shuvs outta grinds or slides. It wasent common then. And they also take lots of work. Love Jeron man
Had a short sesh on a bump over a sawhorse with Jeron in my local skatepark in Sweden in like 2007-08 . ill never forget Jeron doing a switch tre over it, and i did a really crappy sw fs flip but Jeron was stoked for me and gave me a fistbump! Him and McCrank and are the only pros ive interacted with, both super cool! McCrank was sitting outside the bar where the after party was, he was sad and longing home. I liked that interaction. you realize these aren’t just pro skaters you have seen in videos and look up to, they are human just like anyone els
Know what ur sayin. It was the same when I met a few members of the bones brigade at Livingston Skatepark. It was their European tour, the footage of which ended up in Public Domain. Gurerro's stalefish over the hip was stunning. We spoke with them all, Hawk, Valelly, Eric Sanderson, Tommy and Lance. Down to earth as u get. Like u mentioned: jst people.👍🏽👍🏽
I met Dubs in 2008 in the Philippines when they had a demo in my friend’s skatepark in Cebu. I think it was a promo for DVS with Tpuds, Daniel Castillo, Zered and more. I was of the marshalls of the event so I had a chance to get closer with the pro-skaters. He is one of those people that you can feel their genuinity through their aura. He was a natural and he really appreciates his fans..
That big heel flip at the end is the perfect representation of skateboarding. Dubs in his fresh gear landing the trick and dill in the back ground cheering him on for his accomplishment. Fucking aye that some good shit.
Man Jerome os the best! So happy he joined the nineclub he really added another helped them take it to the next level, his lines are golden and he’s got the smoothest voice. MORE DUBZ!
As a filmer, it was rad to hear Dubs show some love to all the filmers he's worked with other the years
As a watcher it was nice to watch this video
@@Rickvales I felt the same way
Quick question, why is he called Dubs? I've heard so many people call him that but can't seem to find any info on it. Thanks!
@@tilen3870 I think it was the name of one of his dvs shoes "the J-Dubs" and it just became his nickname after that

Jeron is that OG. Been a fan since the 90s.
rad hearing all the little details on a video/part i used to watch all the time growing up. Also rad song!
He is just that type of person you just go out to lunch with and shoot the shit about life. Great listener and soft communicator
Bro I requested this!!! 🤙🏻 such a big part of my youth right here.
My favorite guy!!!

I think all of the nine club should do this see all their old footage and talk about where they was at that time. This is a good contact.
