His art is amazing! I think I will buy a piece. Thank you for featuring him.
Get ready to shell out some $$$. I went to his gallery in Cuenca. Most were $3,000 - $5,000. Of course I’m sure a deal could be struck though.

I checked out Olon in 2017 as a possible place to move to. Loved its simplicity and connect with Ecuadorian culture. Things have changed so much in the last couple years.
The Last Resort ...
"And you can see them there
On Sunday morning
They stand up and sing about
What it's like up there
They call it paradise
I don't know why
You call someplace paradise
Kiss it goodbye"
Sad to see another lovely place succumb to Western ways.
Art always brings life and renewal in a community ✨ ❤ 💕. Without art life is 😴 boring. Keep pushing it and keep us posted.
Ohh, Quimbita’s art is really cool!
I used to go to the Quimbita Bar and Art Gallery at Las Peñas in Guayaquil. Not sure if that place still exists but it was great!

The water issue is because this is a new province in Ecuador they splitted from Guayas a few years ago and I guess they still need some improvements in their infrastructure, but it's just a matter of time. My mom lived there 5 years ago and believe me, it looks way better than it used to. I ate at that italian restaurant once.
Muy Bien Simple words in Spanish
But Consistent Si Se Puede
Great Video 😊
Can't wait to our trip to Ecuador next month. We plan to visit Quito,,Banos, Cuenca, Salinas, and Guayaquil in 2 weeks time. Is Olon worth a trip from Salinas?
It's a great little town with a beautiful beach but it is small. I guess it is a personal preference.
Great timing! We should be there on just a couple of days! Who in Olon would you recommend for a massage after a flight and a bus ride?
There's a massage therapist named Paul in Olón. I don't have his contact info but you can find him on Facebook in the Olón Life group.
Hi both are so cute couple
Hi friends! Three days ago I became a member of your group and I have received dozens of congrats for a comment I made about you. I am simply in awe of such a response by so many members of the group! But there is something I would like to refer to that draw my attention during the process of registration. In item No. 3 there is a demand to ask for your permission in case members want to promote something on the group. And you mentioned to get in touch with you but you didn’t indicate how. As that is my case, please let me know where I can tell you what kind of service I would like to make public for the rest of the members. Thank you so very much.
You can send us a message on Facebook (I'm assuming you are referring to our Facebook group).
Are there any internet cafès in Alòn? How about that as an add on to your list in the different locales?
Hello Amelia And JP!
Well, the Presidential election was high drama! Arauz won the first round. But Perez's indigenous followers pushed Lasso over the top.
A U.S. friendly government will help with exports and tourism.
Anyway, wonderful video of Olon. Very different from the big cities, Guayaquil, Quito, Cuenca.
Vaccinations are moving along in the U.S. I got my Johnson&Johnson shot first week of April. (First week 50 and over could get one). One step closer to traveling internationally.
Keep us informed of the circumstances in the beach communities. Looking forward to stopping by.
---LADRIVER.
Water would be a good thing:)
I haven't seen a question about the television service- Is there English TV available or is it all Spanish? Thanks for the great videos!!!
When you get cable services, you can just use the remote control and change it. If there is a channel only in Spanish it will have English captions anyway.
Really great stuff. I wish Ecuador would concentrate more on drinkable water, though. I wonder why that is not a very high priority. I guess they just don't value it like we do in the US. Or maybe the expense is the problem.
It's a poor bankrupt developing country. Not really a fair comparison to a global superpower and richest country in the world.
That's why I added that maybe the expense is the problem. I see Ecuador doing a lot of projects for their people, but it seems to me drinkable water should be high on the priority list.
Are you getting greego pricing?
‘ Till now I always got by on my own
I never really cared until I met you
And now it chills me to the bone
How do I get you Olón?
How do I get you Olón??!?!!!!
Olón!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...Olón!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:)
Kind of interesting to come to Ecuador and complain about the government not building you a salination plant or a pipeline so you can have excess water in an area that is a native bosque seco. Maybe you should do a vlog about the ecological aspects and impact of tourist coming to this area and how Forest restoration would help the sustainability of population increase in an area that clearly doesn’t have water resources!
Are there any golf courses nearby?
I hope not. They are the number one polluters of water. At least in the United States they are.
Off topic, but how is the vaccination situation being handled in Ecuador?
Jp your neckline is plunging below Amelias ..... what’s up with that ?
Water, ALL life on earth exists because of water..., another case of not knowing what you’ve got until it’s gone.
Chao
