Hearing this song made me tear up inside. Honestly, I can't help but feel when all is said an done, both main characters here got the short end of the stick. *Spoilers: Beat the game to the end credits? Partner vanishes, leaving MC alone. Stop half-way through the post game story? MC is left with a physical reminder of his partner he must live with (literally) every day. Stop at the end of the post game story? MC was betrayed by the very organization he was a part of, but at least gets their partner back. Continue playing after this part? Partner is a husk of its former self, having the same face and lines every day, never changing. Abandons the aforementioned physical reminder of their partner out to the wilderness, a literal child. Just...dang....
*Spoilers:* The last part is definitely not intentional with the partner rather it's just a side effect of how they handled the game after the epilogue story. I do wish every was more dynamic in the ending and stuff, though, because I loved being able to chat with the partner as well as others and seeing what they'd say (Not to mention there's some moments that definitely deserved a cutscene and dialog I'd argue). And while Mew leaving was weird admittedly as they seemed to enjoy the team and there was nothing stopping them from staying, it seems to have been their own choice and they're plenty strong enough to defend themselves considering they're higher level than most experienced dungeon explorers in the game. I do hope we get an eventual remake that improves the post-game though, because the amazing story we got deserved better.
@@tailsBOOM1992 The did say Mew "returned," which can imply they left of their own accord, but without the minutia of why they left, we can only postulate the reasons. If they enjoyed their time there, why leave? What changed? The partner returning. Did they leave because they felt they were no longer needed, didn't actually want to join the organization, was kicked out, felt like a third wheel, or what?
@@AkaiAzul agreed, that's why I said it felt weird since it doesn't line up with what Mew was talking about prior. That is something that should be changed or at the very least explained if it's maintained should they remake Super eventually
