@@bulbasaurbrutal5137 You confuse Tolkien's stories with his worldbuilding. Asia and Africa are part of Middle-earth. The Elves awoke in Cuivienen, aka the area of modern day Iraq. 2/3 of the Elves migrated into Europe, 1/3 did not go into the west. They are the Avari. Nobody knows what happended to them and were they went. Arondir could very well be a descendent of Avari Elves from the South. Disa could also be from a southern House of Dwarves. The modern day mixture of Hobbits is of course nonsense.
Sauron: ahh, you think darkness is your ally? You merely adopted the dark; I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but BLeindning!!
The effects look good, but the story still doesn't make a lick of sense. Sauron hasn't made the One Ring yet, so he can't control the other rings, which he did not make. He also didn't deceive Galadriel last season. He literally revealed himself, dumped her in a river, and then she pretended it didn't happen and allowed the rings to be forged. And of course everyone knows what Sauron looks like now. They could've avoided this by either just following the actual lore or by casting a new actor for Sauron in S2...but they chose the goofiest option--a wig and pointy ears--an unforced error that unravels the whole plot.
To be fair, he still might have influence over the other rings as he contributed to the fundamental formula behind their creation. The One merely magnified that influence.
@@goldengriffon I'm not being rude but that is head canon. It's stated pretty definitively that he needs the One to control the other Great Rings. During the subsequent events of the third age/war of the Ring he isn't even able to locate the elven three, let alone wield any degree of power over them at all. He absolutely needs the One to do this.
@@anni.68 Well you know the book that the show is supposed to be based on?!?! As for the first part of your question there's too many to count, here just some: that's not how the ring are created, the balrog is not awake in this era, the wraith are created way after this by the witchking of angmar, sauron did not turn evil because he got rejected by galadriel, Tom bombadil is a higher being and does not intervine in the story at all (He is actively kept out of the fellowhip because deemed too careless, since he is not attached to what happens around him)....and I could go on for hours
You know they're limited as to what they can write about, by the Tolkien Estate, right? They can only elaborate on what was mentioned in the movies. They're doing what they can with what they've got. Wights exist beyond the Barrow Downs. Balrogs went into hiding after the first age. Just because ones awake, doesn't mean he'll immediately destroy Moria. The dwarves have only just discovered mythril. There could be an ongoing war with Durins Bane over mining rights for centuries. Like the Stanger, Tom may not be all he appears to be as yet. I can't wait to find out.
@@malalford being limited in what they ca use does not mean they have to invent parts or change the story you do realize that right? Also they just can’t use some names or they need to pay warner brothers money. Stop finding excuses for a poorly written show.
@@WretchDog There are very few acutal changes. Additions are of course not a problem, especially not for the Second Age. "Do not laugh! But once upon a time (my crest has long since fallen) I had a mind to make a body of more or less connected legend, ranging from the large and cosmogonic, to the level of romantic fairy-story (....) I would draw some of the great tales in fullness, and leave many only placed in the scheme, and sketched. The cycles should be linked to a majestic whole, and yet leave scope for other minds and hands, wielding paint and music and drama." (J.R.R. Tolkien, Letter 131) „Amazon has a relatively free hand when it comes to adding something, since, as I said, very few details are known about this time span. The Tolkien Estate will insist that the main shape of the Second Age is not altered...All this, the course of history, must remain the same. But you can add new characters and ask a lot of questions, like: What has Sauron done in the meantime? Where was he after Morgoth was defeated? Theoretically, Amazon can answer these questions by inventing the answers, since Tolkien did not describe it. But it must not contradict anything which Tolkien did say. That’s what Amazon has to watch out for. It must be canonical, it is impossible to change the boundaries which Tolkien has created, it is necessary to remain “tolkienian”...the Tolkien Estate keeps a very careful eye on everything and is quite capable of saying no. They retain a veto over everything that concerns Tolkien." (Tom Shippey)

Ajajajajajajajajaj
The effects look good, but the story still doesn't make a lick of sense. Sauron hasn't made the One Ring yet, so he can't control the other rings, which he did not make. He also didn't deceive Galadriel last season. He literally revealed himself, dumped her in a river, and then she pretended it didn't happen and allowed the rings to be forged. And of course everyone knows what Sauron looks like now. They could've avoided this by either just following the actual lore or by casting a new actor for Sauron in S2...but they chose the goofiest option--a wig and pointy ears--an unforced error that unravels the whole plot.
The fact that Sauron is just an ordinary dude is so disappointing icl
Bro ancient times don't have a camera nor picture lol. They just have sketches of a person. Same shit in medieval fiction also.
Sauron had a hand in making the nine and the seven. The three were made without his direct intervention.
You should all be ashamed of how you mistreat the source material.
Tolkien, Letter 131)
„Amazon has a relatively free hand when it comes to adding something, since, as I said, very few details are known about this time span.
