I actually find it slightly bewildering you enjoyed my suggestion more 😂 Chase has a nice reaction to this if you're keen on watching. Music's a really fun thing, we can often be in simular pockets, but drift to different songs.
Lol, loved the stank faces at the drums, I get that every time. Definitely one of my favourite drummers! Appreciate you giving Sleep Token another listen, perhaps The Offering next? As always, love the reaction. Edit: I can understand the "underwhelming" feeling you got, I first started listening to Sleep Token as they were releasing Sundowning (the latest album, and the material succeeding Jaws), and it was instantly my album of the year. When I listened through their backlog afterwards, it didn't hit me nearly as much as Sundowning did. I couldn't remember anything really about Jaws after trying to listen to it 3 or 4 times. Eventually, it came on when I was in the right mood, and now it's one of my favourite tracks. Definitely think it's a bit more of a grower of a track.
Jaws might be not have been the ideal next step. I would have suggested The Offering or Higher as a slighty better option. The whole Sundowning record is a masterpiece. But yeah, it is how it is. I got the chance to see then live last year. And i can say...i never have experienced something like this on a live stage. Mezmerizing. Ps: Support the Kardavox academy and react to Kardashev - between sea and sky. You'll not be dissapointed. ;)
Check out their song ' The Offering' - musically it still has pop-ish parts, but more of it is metal, and really heavy. Vocally it's the same, mostly pop style. It works for me - I bought the album off hearing this one song, and while it is still my favourite, I quite like all of the others too.
Sorry for the mispronunciation. I'll keep Calcutta in mind for their next visit. The band really intrigues me and I wonder just what kind of things they can do with this musical mashup.
Thanks for the content. Sleep Token is everything to me. Loved your breakdown/analysis. Sorry it didn't quite land with you but that's ok! Surprised you didn't re-mention the drummer from that song he is playing out of his mind on that track haha. Keep grinding!
This was another interesting listen. I think on the last Sleep Token vid I said it sounded like a mix of pop and djent. This sounded more like straight up alternative rock, but the heavy emotionality of it also reminded me a lot of Anathema for some reason. I do think this flirts dangerously with being boring, but I think there's enough atmosphere here to pull me in, and the drummer kills it too. I guess you could say there's just enough spice to keep it from being bland. I could definitely see how this could hit harder in the right mood. I think this is one downside (in general) of listening as a reactor and being expected to analyze the song afterwards is that mindset easily puts up a roadblock to letting yourself getting pulled into songs that require that kind of connection. Also: "pop songs aren't sad." Billie Eilish: "Am I a joke to you?" ;)
I'd recommend something from their latest album like the offering. The stuff before that (like this one and thread the needle) sounds a bit too similar (although I do love all of those songs as well)
Dude..idk who you are. I just now found this channel. But I feel like we may be related. We look strikingly similar and my dad was adopted so idk half my family. Rofl
Thought the drumming was great but the rest of the song was just so meh. I can see how people would be drawn to the vocals, but I feel like I've heard the same style of vocals in several other pop rock bands I've heard on the radio before and they're just not my thing.

Every single thing about this song is phenomenal.

Offering and Higher are two songs that are a MUST imo, they both mesh both styles incredibly well and I love it
Same, The Offering is what got me into them
It’s pronounced Jay vin. Thanks for checking it out man. You’d probably really like Calcutta if you decide to check out another song by them.

@@CriticalReactions No worries everyone mispronounces it.

Yeah their drummer is just on another level. You should check out Good Tiger - Redshift for some groovy drumming

Till the next one!!

Hey bro you have to go with amaseffer (maybe "birth of deliverance") Mindblowing!!!!
Tool, Parabol +Parabola (10 minute version)

I love me some sleep token.
Slugdge- salt thrower
You should give The Heaviest Matter of the Universe by Gojira a listen. Short, sweet and heavy but without being just a wall of noise xD
Check out some Shrezzers plz.. Maybe the song " neglect"

lol not sure if he was sarcastic in the beginning or not
I was somewhat distracted by the creepy as heck video.
If you need a journey :
heroes of the waterfalls' kingdom by Rhapsody
I prefer The Offering over jaws
Sleep token huh? Well at least I didn't fall asleep while listening to this. Kind of an nice lil headbang song, but nothing more than that for me.
Try their other stuff, bruh

Welp, try Gods, or the Offering. Maybe even Higher.
