Wednesday fan here, and a LOT of what you're saying is exactly what we say about our team. We only ever play well one half of a match, and always seem to have to go behind before we start playing. Think the best thing to say about the match was that if we weren't so bad first half, you probably wouldn't have been 3 up, and if you weren't so bad second half, we probably wouldn't have come back.
i grew up on teesside as a kid left in 1998 been in sussex ever since..and im a norwich city fan..but always want boro to do well..however as im seeing it from a different point of view..i think boro are well average..seem to big up the squad, when i thinks its shit..finn azaz and tommy conway are the stand out players the rest of them are no better than pompey..and pompey as many other teams including sheff wed have far better managers..the problem us carrick..he constantly gets out managed, doesnt react, and his team are like 15 year olds weak as piss..we are in a transition at carrow road..but we knew once boro concede they collapse..as carrick the statue thinks he guardiola but his ingame is horrific..they implode everytime..no plan b at all..if a team runs at them target down the wings he becomes unstuck..given the resources hes had to danny rohl..its a joke..also for a club like sheff wed not to be in the top flight since 98 is not right..luckily im 46..so i remember when they won the league cup.(john sheridan)and finished 3rd..just like did in92/93
Someone who plays the goals so refreshing. Sky dont care please show the goals . Well played bro . All the best to middlesbrough and ur fans . Im sure we will meet again
John Pearson ex Wednesday player working for Radio Sheffield speaking during the first half commented that 'Brough were easily the best team he'd seen this season, he really thought the pass and movment was outstanding. He did call it right though because he said that a team that was this good shouldn't be six in the league, they should be way out on top, so there was something wrong with them and that Wednesday still had a small chance of getting something from the game and I'm pleased that we got the goals and came away with a point, but if Middlesbrough can sort out that second half performance then you'll be sticking it up to Newcastle come August!
Wednesday fan here, thought your comments were fair and balanced, I think there’s a lot of similarities between the 2 sides although you guys probably are further down the road regarding your plaiyers, we probably have the advantage with Rohl…. An exceptional coach who I wonder how long we can hang on to. Good luck for the rest of the season, you played some good stuff first half
While it is easy to blame Boro, at half time, Rohl brought on Inglesson and Challobah and dropped Charles to defence, going from two in the middle to three, which was very effective - Challobah and Inglesson were probably our best players that half. It also meant that Otebegayo, who has promise was replaced by Charles, which added a lot of stability to the defence. He also apparently said something to Valery, who seemed half asleep the first half. This is something Rohl does a lot, change the shape/formation of the team, and it works pretty well for him But it's the job of the opposition manager to react. Wednesday changed shape, and the things that were working for Boro before were no longer effective and Wednesday were dominating, to make changes to address that and Carrick didn't
Exactly. Spot on. As I mentioned in the vid the changes made at half time by Rohl were proactive and fantastic, we completely capitulated and couldn’t cope and as always under Carrick continued to endlessly do plan A over and over again again
This will have been the first time in the riverside era (minimum) where we’ve given up a 3 goal advantage at home. Crazy. A 30 year (at least) new stat. Oh Boro. Such a soft side.
People say we’re inconsistent but quite the opposite we continually play lovely football during games but we consistently suffer a mental and physical collapse often in the same game. As soon as an opposing team gains the ascendancy we go to pieces, and it’s okay blaming the fullbacks but our midfield players are so weak, highlighted by Hackney’s pathetic challenge before the second goal.
We sheffield wednesday were so poor in that first half thought it was game over once it got to half time but we made 2 great subs at half time and that changed it for us and we got back into it and came away with a point but thought you middlesbrough were really good in that first half one of the better teams I've seen this season tbh
No offence to you lot well done btw I'm speaking from a Boro perspective that's why I'm angry but youse lot are a fantastic set of fans and doing well compared to last season
We are going nowhere under Carick and Woodgate. If they are incapable of affecting a game positively from the touchline, and can't set a team up to be defensively sound then they will not achieve anything other than mid table mediocrity. Either get someone in to help Carrick, or get rid and get a proper coach in who knows what he is doing.
I think boro plays the best football in the league, but obviously, playing this style plays a heavy toll on your players if teams can hang on for abit your legs go
Sorry but the lack of desire in these players that can just switch off in a split second is embarrasing and why Hackney is captain material is mind boggling
Yep agree about Hackney. A young quiet lad - let’s make him captain! Mind boggling indeed, we have no real leaders in the team. To be fair, looking at our starting 11 against Sheff Wed, there is legit no captain material at all. A soft soft team.
2 choices - play like the old boring Arsenal winning 1-0 OR like the brilliant Liverpool of old playing easy-on-the-eye football. We can't do both. But we need to learn and play both ways.
The problems we saw today are baked into the foundation of this Carrick matchday Boro side. They are not bugs or brainfarts - but rather a feature of the foundational code this team is built on. If these lapses were occasional, then I can accept it is a player issue and look at these individuals. But they are not. They happen all the time. Therefore, this is entirely a product of the coaching staff. Boro have been very effective at building a modern, well run club on the football infrastructure side. But this is being undermined by the 1st team coaching setup and this fault lies entirely at the door of Carrick. This squad is great. But for every four game unbeaten run where we score 3 thousand goals there is a five match run where we drop crucial points from good positions. Carrick's game management is nonexistent. He is either really stubborn or he is a ditherer. Both are terrible qualities in a tactician. While he is clearly a good development coach (players improve under him) he is not cut out to be a matchday manager. I have accepted this. While I dearly want my team to live up to their potential and desperately wanted Carrick to succeed I have come to know that this is their level under him. The saddest part is that we will lose some of these wonderful young players as a result. I hope we can keep hold of Kieran Scott who is in the process of building something great. But the Boro executive leadership team need to be ruthless and call time on this coaching setup.
I was following the score, couldn't believe how you collapsed Matt. It feels like it's a mentality thing, the moment you concede you tend to drop, or you just don't seem to have enough to come back and win the game. Glad to see Ben Doak score, great first half from you. But it's unforgivable how you threw the game away. I still think your team is good enough to get playoffs, but have they got the mentality to do it?? I feel your pain and frustration mate
You guys looked seriously slick first half... I don't even think Wednesday played that bad you were just too good for us.... second half we scored quick after half time which seemed to put your players on edge a bit...
@@marboro14mentality is wrong every season why didn't we push for the automatics? This season how long have we been in the championship now we've got the "let's get to the play offs" mentality joke really we've got the squad and depth to do it but we are our own worst enemy
@dylanobrien97 it is difficult to compete with the relegated teams and even the clubs receiving parachute money. Financially we can't compete, we need to buy really well but then the problem is if we don't get promoted then the better players leave so its constant rebuilding isn't it. Realistically I had no expectations to be automatically promoted, I suppose it depends how high you believe we should be in the table, UTB

Usually enjoy watching reports from Wednesdays opponents. After you’d not even bothered to read out the Wednesday lineup, and not mentioned us AT ALL by the six minute point I gave up. Amateurish… as were Middlesbrough in the second half.
😂😂😂😂 you do realise I’m a Middlesbrough fan right? It’s a series reviewing MIDDLESBROUGH? I mentioned Wednesday plenty when discussing the second half turnaround, of course I’m gunna focus on my team and our lineup, and the first half which we dominated. Your comment is mad 😂😂
@@marboro14 Nonsense mate, you need to watch other similar UA-cam channels…. Sheff Cam for a start. He might be a daft Sheffield lad but at least he previews the teams and gives some respect to opponents.
@ I gave more than enough respect and praise to Wednesday if you watched for long enough. Sorry if you stumbled across the video expecting a different video but it’s predominantly from a Boro perspective and by a lot of the comments from other Wednesday fans, they thought it was a perfectly fair video so 🤷

How many poor referee's are Boro going to get seriously that's off side goals and a second yellow equating to a red and this halftime charge by coach must of been we don't want 5th how about we look towards 8th or 9th this season.
@Lolodewednesday they played terrible second half and that's not the ref. But you wouldn't want to be sent off on a red with such a soft tackle either. I've seen far worse and at best it's a free not a card, especially a red But anyway I understand you can't change them in the Championship.
Loving the result I’m ecstatic as an owl
