Good discussion. Are there any published hard stats on how often an AWS AZ actually goes down and for how long ? Are some AZs more prone to failure ? I had read that US-East was more prone to failure but I can't substantiate that claim.
It was the good session, I wants you to let me known how much will cost if I'm adding read replica to existing RDS Aurora postgres cluster and don't find proper document for that.
I think Oracle is expensive compared to Microsoft SQL. Some of high performance Oracle have BYOL model if you consider that it will be significantly higher the SQL server.
The most expensive is obviously postgress I forgot to turn off 4 db instances which I never used since I wasn't able to get it working and I was being charged $110 for the month luckily AWS support is awesome and got it removed.
I am using aws lightsail for my website so i want to connect database and in lighsatil database charged per month 15 dollar it is too costly for a beginner in india ...please tell me how to use or what to use instead of it for beginnner.
Hi Nicholas. You get many more benefits by using a managed solution such as integrated monitored, autoscaling abilities, scheduled backups, increased availability, and many more. It is important to factor these into your decision on which product/service to use. Thanks for watching. Daniel
@@BeABetterDev Hi mate, it's only ok if you're using it not alot. E.g. if you start collecting data , or start doing analysis, the cost will explode really. If you spend the same amount of money on a over provisioned instance it will still cost lesser. The more storage you use, the more expensive managed service become, therefore it's only recommended for development, not so much for production. Some people say yeah, you save money from hiring a devops. That's probably the only benefit I see, but for a startup, this kind of burn rate will kill the business.
@@MrAtomUniversethere are literally tens of thousands of companies that are leveraging the public cloud for their services with great cost effectiveness, especially with the right mixture of RI’s, CRI’s, and Savings Plans to maximize cost savings. And yes, this includes running prod environments as well

Hi sir! thats a great comparison i don t see the excel sheet in the description can you please share it here! thank you!
Which is good for storing data for a company's intranet where the data is related to innovation ideas to be submitted by users... please suggest

If we bring our own license, wouldn't it decrease the cost per hour?
what is the data transfer cost between ec2 and rds in the same region same availability zone?
12:25 we have oracle DB. Can you please make a video on migrating to AWS cloud, but still connecting to our on-prem data centers?
Thank you! please add Cloud SQL and Cloud Spanner in, too!

4:57 it's $44XX. How is the annual prepaid shows $895 (like 75% discount?)
In the beginning there was also MariaDB. Where does that one rank?
I think this is a bad idea, its good only if you're using less than 1GB, after that switch to your own self hosted DB.

sql server or aurora the most expensive, mariadb or mysql the least expensive
想知道RDS療程最低消費多少。
My guess was MSSQL. And according to Glenn, I'm right :-)
You and I agree. The open source ones should be cheapest.
Actually MySql is cheapest
@@TheHeadfirstyoga Any open source one would be the cheapest since they are all free.
Aurora least, Oracle most
Close!
What i so special about microsoft SQL that pushes the price into exorbitant portions
Hi Eva, I would guess a combination of Licensing and special hardware that is more suitable for MS SQL Server.
@@BeABetterDev That does make sense
4k a year is nothing ??
I thought Oracle would be most expensive ! MSSQL is shocking!
Its grossly overpriced. I suspect much of the costs are due to licensing but regardless the price is astronomical!
@@BeABetterDev Even with the license, I thought it should be less. I wonder how it compares with Azure?
Before watching I think oracle is the most expensive one
Ill guess Oracle the most expensive and MySQL the cheapest?
Ding ding ding!
Oracle will be more expensive I think
